Television Breaking Bad

That final shot of Walt framed by the hatch entrance, getting smaller and tighter (just as Walts situation) as the camera draws back was incredible.

I need to watch those last 10 minutes again, was immense. The music too.

Why would a twitching finger imply death? If anything I thought it would imply he's alive. My first guess was that maybe he's paralysed, or in a coma.

You mean the way Saul was speaking?

The money isn't in the account because Saul's ginger bloke said it was in the post.

Actually no.

The ginger bloke was going to leave to deposit the money but then Ted did his spastic scene and then he just stared at the fat black man.

Watch it again, in the scene after at Saul's office the ginger guy says something along the lines of 'It doesn't matter, the money is in the mail anyway'.

Ah ok, missed that.

They've neither mentioned that he's dead or alive so either is possible, though I thought at the time he was dead. I hope he's dead too, very annoying and stupid character.

I do remember that line actually, which confuses me more. That must mean Ted isn't dead. If he was dead then why would they cash the money? I hate having to write in spoiler tags.

was essentially a shot of showing him as being buried alive...

Also how his anguished crying changes to maniac laughter and then to silence when he finally realizes the situation i not funny anymore.

Me too, these threads should be like the Game of Thrones threads and have a "SPOILERS" in the title so they can be discussed freely. Pretty much every post in the last few pages has a spoiler section!

Best episode of the series thus far?
Hmmm tough to say..

definitely best episode of season for me.

But last season had some very very strong episodes. This tops the finale from last time but can't say right now if it was better than 3 minutes, Run or even Fly.

Definitely better than any season 2 episode. Season 1 again had some very strong episodes.

To be fair, I think it's an unfair question. Breaking Bad is the type of show which is wholly cumulative. The show is a completely different animal from what it was in the earlier stages, which was still fecking good in it's own right.

Epic final scene in this week's episode. Two left... then one more season.

....yeah. Looks like Gus and Mikes plan got slightly ruined at the end there.

I'd say the blood in the makeshift hospital puts paid to that idea and it was just the actor getting ready to react.

Amazing episode. I liked how they addressed Gus's situation and showed his plan wasn't really that reckless considering he had immediate help on hand, a lot of us were wondering it wasn't realistic for him to survive after vomiting so late, but it makes sense now that we see he had a contingency plan.

 Ted's death was hilarious, I definitely took that as a death, the finger twitch to me suggests it more likely, especially how he landed with the angle too.

Sol - the fingers and other parts can twitch after death, it's apparently quite common.

Great episode. There's an interesting theory going around that;

It was Walt who poisoned Brock, not Gus. Gus couldn't have known about the ricin, and even if he did, how could he have known exactly where Jesse keeps it? When Walt was in his garden, spinning the gun, it points at the poisonous plant, which he looks at for a moment. It looks like Walt used the poison from the plant, which wouldn't have been lethal enough to actually kill Brock, then had Saul call Jesse to go to his office. Huell then patted him down, removing his packet of cigs and replacing it with another packet. Once Jesse finds the ricin cig is missing, he goes to Walt, who plants the idea that it was Gus, allowing him to get Jesse's help in luring Gus to the hospital, so he could kill him. The final scene with Gus retreating from the carpark, it seems like he has worked out for himself that Walt has made his move by poisoning Brock, and is now on his way back down to tell him it was in fact Walt.

Yep that's what I thought too. Seemed way too convenient for Gus to have found out about the cig by watching them through security cameras.

Yeahh, the scene in the garden is what confirms it for me, otherwise there would have been no point in it. Apparently that plant was a Hyacinth, which contains a poison that will give a person, especially a child, the symptoms Brock had. Plus, if Gus had poisoned him, he would have had no reason to be suspicious and not enter his car. He reacted like that, because he'd pieced it all together. Jesse mentioned that Brock had been poisoned, so he concluded it must have been Walt. At that point, he realised Walt was trying to lure him out into the open.

Brilliant writing. The messageboard I go on for the show, that's basically all that is being discussed though, which is a shame because I've watched the episode a couple more times now and just how amazing was Aaron Paul in that scene with Cranston? Incredible actor.

Yep I immediately thought the same that it was Walt that poisoned him, another fantastic episode. Cannot wait for the finale.

Didn't think about that at all. That's feckin brilliant. I could tell he was looking at something in the garden, but couldn't tell what.

He's been getting darker and darker so I wouldn't be amazingly surprised, but I'd think his intention was just to make him sick enough, not kill him.

Let's not forget that Walter let Jesse's girlfriend die at the end of season 2. I wouldn't put anything past him. Watching the episode, it does seem more likely that it was Walt who poisoned the child rather than Gus, the huge black guy frisking Jesse did seem a bit odd, especially given that the door was left open, and then Saul ordered it locked as soon as Jesse was in. Saying that, I'm not quite clear on when Walter would have had the opportunity to poison him.

What I also love is that I've got no idea where it's going. Usually you get a good idea of how somethings going to end. Any other show and Walt and Jessie would team up and take down Gus. Somehow you know it's just not going to be that simple, something big will go down.

Brilliant season. Has to be the best thing on TV right now. Can't wait for next weeks episode.

Fantastic episode again, can't wait for next week now.

Jesse turns rat? doesn't matter who poisoned the kid now, he has to stick with Walt.

Just caught up with everything. What a fantastic show. Aaron Paul and Bryan Cranston are tremendous actors.

Halfway through season 2, its taken a very dark turn.

Okay I thought it had taken a dark turn before, now its fecking apocalyptic.

Edit - Turns out that was the last episode of season 2

Why do I keep doing this to myself?

When I'm catching up on a series I read through the thread, spoiler by spoiler, hoping I'll be able to spot when the conversation is about to move on to an episode I have't seen yet.

That fecking gif on the previous page... I haven't seen that episode yet...

*sigh*

Took me about 2 weeks but finally caught up with it all. Great stuff, can't believe I never watched it before

next time go to wikipedia, and find the episode list of whatever show you are currently watching, it will tell you when each show is aired. With that you can compare each episode with the date of the post.

ie. Breaking Bad, Episode 13, airs on October 9th (October 10th for those across the Atlantic), so any posts on October 10th+ will most likely be about the latest episode.
