Television Breaking Bad

Big ass machine gun for the Nazis and ricin for Elliot and Gretchen? Seems to be a fairly popular theory around the internet right now.

Says a lot about a show when it has an episode where a meth cook is caught escaping his Nazi captors and they shoot his girlfriend dead, and it's called filler.

Very good episode, probably needed to slow the pace a bit after last week.

Poor Jesse, that lad has no luck. Todd is a proper creepy bastard and yet another excellent supporting character in a show that's had quite a few.

Great episode. Is it going to be a 2 hour special next week for the finale? I hope they don't rush it, but I feel like there's a lot of unfinished business so far.

I thought I had a good idea of how things were going to play out before that but I really don't know now. The Grey Matter stuff was excellent. Puts a new spin on what we'd all assumed about the flashforwards.

In other news Breaking Bad won the Emmy for the best Drama series and Anna Gunn bagged the one for best supporting actress. Shame Bryan lost out, next year though, no question.

This has been said loads, but dammit it needs saying more: Bryan Cranston is brilliant.

That confrontation with Saul.
That scene with Vacuum Repairs Man.
That phone conversation with Walt Jr.
That "I'm going to kill somebody" face at the end.

What a man.

:)

No idea. They just popped into my mind. It was that whole bitterness and the fact they were loaded when Walt was broke (despite him being central to their company) that caused him to lust after money. And so instead of seeking his fortunes in science the legitimate legal way, he delved into the dark sciences

Has he ever really made Elliot pay for it? And didn't he also have a fling with her for a while prior to her meeting Elliot? It seems like they're the legit family that took everything from Walt (or so he may think)

God my memory is going

;)

Another fantastic episode. The tone was just right after the last episodes madness. I love how these guys try to look at most of the relevant little details. Very often a scene comes about and I'm like yeah, that needed to be explained.

Just one to go :(

It's got to the point now where I just want Walt to feck everyone up who has crossed him.

feck em all I say!

Also can those fools stop calling 92 and 96 per cent Heisenberg standard? Wasn't Walt's formula 99 point something percent ?

Absolutely brilliant episode, my heart dropped so many times during that episode - when Andrea was killed, when the Nazis appeared behind Jesse, when the Nazis were in Holly's room, and when Walt turned back from the gate when he was about to leave.

Such a brilliant episode, probably one of my favourites and what a way to end. It is just so hard to call what is going to happen next.

I agree it would be good to see Walt just go on some sort of rampage, but I would really love to see some sort of silver lining for Jesse, a character that has gone to hell and back several times, but unfortunately i see no way back for him at the moment.

The moment when skyler finds the nazis in Holly's room actually startled me a bit.

Bringing Elliot and Gretchin back into it was clever but I wish they'd done it in a less cliched way than 'guy in bar TV happens to be showing a relevant news article'

Was there any other way given he was out of touch with the rest of the world?

One of those newspapers he got delivered? It obviously would have been less dramatic but that bit did seem more than a little convenient.
Well it's supposed to be a coincidence. I don't see much difference in him watching it on tv or the newspaper. They're both modes of information that he would happen to stumble across. I don't see how they could visually show the viewer what they had to via the newspaper either. It's not about drama, it's about conveying the message effectively.

So Walt has gone back to his whiskey neat. Are we meant to take anything from that?

Great episode. Just one more left. It saddens me the greatest show I've ever had the pleasure of watching is nearly at an end.

Those cold Nazi bastards, kill 'em Walt, kill 'em all!

Great episode. Really like the Grey Matter scene at the end, nice touch and has set it up perfectly for next week.

Jesse :( I don't particularly like how he sided with Hank, and the way he's acted at times this season, but he doesn't deserve it this bad. I guess the best he can hope for is to make it out alive and raise Brock somewhere safe.

S1 EP1 right from the start

Fantastic! You'll love it!

I wish it was me with all those brilliant episodes to watch for the first time, but I'm definitely going to watch the whole thing from the beginning a second time. Can't believe there's only one more episode to go now.

:(

I did feel sorry for Walt during that conversation with Flynn. A truly broken man who has lost everything. I wonder if he had the chance whether he would go back to bring a miserable and underachieving school teacher.

He definitely would. This was all for them in the first place so he's take that life back in an instant

Sort of shows his naivety as opposed to the calm and composed tactful Walt, two people who are trying to escape the situation in completely different ways. I do think they are trying to pull a bit too much sympathy for Jesse but I don't think he has ever found the idea of killing someone easy going so it's consistent with his character.

What do the feds have on Walt? They have a nationwide warrant on him, but what links him to Heisenberg, now that

Jesse is MIA, Skyler knows nothing, and Hank is dead?[\spoiler]

I'm guessing his phone call Confessing to killing a DEA agent and Marie's knowledge of what has happened. Also Skyler knows things, she just hasn't mentioned Lydia.

The only criticism of this show I have is that we haven't seen nearly enough of Principal Carmen.

Skylar must have let it out else Marie would have. As soon as he laid hands on Holly he lost Skylar's confidence so it is pretty much sure Skylar let out the fact that he is Heisenberg. If not that then they are probably looking for him on the basis of killing two DEA agents, again Marie has to be the one to have told that, she anyway wanted the police involved.

Just dissecting the opening scene - Walt didn't paint that. People know who he is and what he's done now, and it's been tagged as some sort of homage to him. The kids probably see him as a mythical being. "This is where the great Heisenberg lived" hence tagging his name on the wall. Cannot wait.

So, Walt's the one who'll spray paint 'Heisenberg'. Thoughts?
Called it right the first time.

Great episode. I also called Gretchen and Elliott to reappear in the final series in Betting Bad, so that was nice to see. Loved him flaring up though at them saying he had nothing to do with the company. Even now, when he's one of the country's most wanted men, he still can't stand that he isn't being regarded as the scientist he is. I hope the ricin is used on them as his final, crowning glory. Pair of cnuts them two.

The scene when Andrea's shot, Jesus. Just like when Hank died. They're mentally torturing Jesse. They're not pulling teeth or waterboarding him, they're mentally torturing him. It's awful to see. At that point I really hoped Todd gets his c'nuppins. Someone pointed out that he and Jesse are like perfect opposites. One has morals but comes across as a dick, and the other seems like this really softly spoken guy who has no morals at all. It was the ruthless way he killed Andrea, and then they threatened to kill Brock. They've emotionally stripped Jesse to absolutely nothing. I do wonder what his fate will be.

Also, Flynn's being an arsehole again. An oblivious arsehole.

Two big questions left: Will 53 minutes be long enough for next week? Will it be a better episode than Ozymandias?

I'm glad Andrea got shot. It's such a tired trope using threats upon a loved one as leverage.

Jesse could have been living the high life banging three different MILF's a day by now had he listened to Walt. The boy's an idiot.
