Television Breaking Bad

I know it was all for show, but Walt going off on Skylar was very cathartic he meant most of it I'm sure.

I hate flyd and Marie, I'm really hoping for a brutal death for them.

Also.....YAY feck hank :)

That was a bit misleading actually. I'm not necessarily sure I prefer Walt as a character, I just think Bryan Cranston's acting is on another level.

It is "clear" for him, you're gonna have a hard time convincing him of otherwise. Just like I clearly disagree with him. I prefer Soprano to Walter.

Well he's clearly wrong :)

Anyway, RJ Mitte is clearly the best actor in the show.

Woah woah woah.

I'll accept there's an argument to be had, but there's nothing 'clear' about it either way.

Cranston's character has really evolved through the series - even yesterday's episode saw a new side to him

Love Tony Soprano but he was pretty stereotypical and consistent the whole way through - not that it makes Gandolfini any less an actor of course

That song that played through the desert really is great.

Never seen The Sopranos but I've yet to see a performance better than what Bryan Cranston is currently doing as Walter White. Utterly phenomenal.

He surely has to become the first man to win 4 best actor emmies now.

For a certain level of acting performance it really is difficult to say which actor/character is better than the other. It often comes down to personal preferences, I've always been a fan of mafia movies/shows so logically Soprano "wins" for me but Breaking Bad is a fantastic series, one of the best I've ever watched and Walter White plays a big role in that.

For me, bryan cranston as walter whit is the best acting performance if ever seen. His control over the various range of emotions is unbelievable. He has a normal plain guy side to him as well as a manic one (the laughing on the floor scene), and everything in between. He seems to also be able to change between those emotions like a flick of a switch.

Gandolfini was also incredible but I agree he probably didn't show the range Cranston did, it's still tough to call. The phone call was incredible from him though, the way he was able to both express pure anger across the phone whilst at the same time showing pure heartbreak was incredible really.

Anna Gunn was amazing too, her acting has probably been underrated at times because Skylar has also been a bit of a disliked character.

You should give it a go Elvis, it's an incredible show; but I'm sure a zillion people have told you that

You have no idea what you're missing.

Everyone keeps telling me this. I was told to keep it real until season 2 and prepare to be blown away. I gave it half way through season 2 and I dunno...maybe something came up and I lost the momentum

Hmm, not sure why you were told season two will blow you away. it's the last few episodes of season one that the show really kicks into gear and then season two changes things around quite a bit and again, it's only in the latter parts that it really gets great.

Personally I'm not sure how someone could lose interest though, i watched all 60 hours in three weeks and have watched the whole thing twice since then.

Mad Men is great but I can see why people don't like it.

But The Wire is The Wire god dammit!
I dunno, I'm sure there is music that I consider the very best which you might not like. It's all quite subjective.

I don't get how anyone who loves TV and watched shows like 24 and Dexter can't have seen The Wire or The Sopranos. feck sake.

Just ya know...other things in life that I am also interested in taking up the time ;)

Mad Men is definitely an acquired taste.

The Wire and The Sopranos however should be enjoyable to anyone who likes TV.
I don't think you can apply something like that so universally.

There's a lot of highly rated music and movies too that a lot of people don't like. So much of it comes down to personal taste.

Also, Elvis was talking about not having seen the sopranos. I don't see the big deal about that. Is Elvis really passionate bout tv shows or something? I mean, he might have other interests and never gotten around to watching it?
