Television Breaking Bad

For a certain level of acting performance it really is difficult to say which actor/character is better than the other. It often comes down to personal preferences, I've always been a fan of mafia movies/shows so logically Soprano "wins" for me but Breaking Bad is a fantastic series, one of the best I've ever watched and Walter White plays a big role in that.

It's gotten seriously close after that phone call, that's for sure. I didn't think anyone would ever come put in an acting performance near that of Gandolfini's but I honestly cannot think what more Cranston could do in Breaking Bad to be considered in that category. Relative to the two shows the quality of acting is basically identical.

I prefer Gandolfini's performance because of how deeply his personality is explored but the fact that they've managed to go so far into Walter White in a show like Breaking Bad shows how exceptional Cranston is. You look at him next to any other character in the show and realise just what a big gulf there is in terms of quality of acting performance. It's not like the acting in Breaking Bad is poor either...

Sopranos? Nope.

I've just gotten into tv dramas though with breaking bad. The little bits of the others I've seen I didn't like.

Game of Thrones is incredible. I watched the first 2 episodes about 4 or 5 times over a 2 year period and never got into it. Persuaded my girlfriend to watch them with me and after 5 episodes I was hooked. Watched all episodes to date in about 10 days. Much like Breaking Bad it's just brilliant writing and brutal.

Yeah I think I'll give more shows a go after breaking bad now. All these shows are on my list for sure.

Anyone else think Cranston peaked during Malcolm in the Middle?

I will I will! It's just that 9 seasons of 22 episodes is a very daunting prospect to undertake. Once I finish Luther I'll start.

The first 3/4 are just excellent television. Once Sorkin leaves it does have a temporary dip; I used that time to give it a bit of a break.

Im with you, and the mother......any husband would have murdered her before the end of the first series.

It's like they picked the most annoying people in the world to play all these roles.

Except cranston. I'm sure I never hated on him :nervous:

I mean seriously, look at he faces of those kids. That little chimp like kid. And the taller one who looks like he had his brains sucked out of him. Arghh.

So I reckon this is what'll happen...

Skyler, Holly and Walt Junior are staying at Marie's. Nazi's come to get tape at Marie's, leading to the death of Skyler and maybe even Walt Junior. Walt hearing this news, from a smug Jesse, comes out of hiding to feck the Nazi's up.

Oh please let these spanners Die

I doubt Skylar and Walt Jr will die. I reckon the only "happy" ending to the show will be them surviving and possibly getting a new life of sorts.

Only two episodes left and they haven't addressed the Star Wars stuff with Badger yet. it'll be a serious cop out on the writers behalf if they don't. Probably the most important aspect of the show.

Somewhat symbolic that Marie wore black when she went to the car wash to tell Skyler that Hank had arrested Walt

That's deep man. You should tell adexkola about that.

I wish that when the show ends, there is a post-credits scene showing Huell still in that room waiting for Gomez and Hank. But due to starvation, he is now a skinny Chris Rock
