Television Breaking Bad

I assume Skylar and the kids will go into a sort of witness protection as pretty much the whole country finds out exactly what Walt is, and the house will be left abandoned.

I never said that the cancer was going to get Walt let alone saying it with any conviction.

I simply questioned what would be particularly shallow about such an eventuality.

I don't know what your doctor friend's point is really. Is he suggesting that it's impossible for a man to survive a few months with cancer whilst not receiving treatment? Cancer doesn't stop your hair growing.

Fair enough. The point, I think was that Walt's cancer was a killer without question, even with the treatment and not only that it would be a quick killer. Therefore if Walts hair is back, he's not on chemo, meaning he may be over it. Otherwise, without the treatment the chances are he'd have died quite quickly. Second bouts of cancer in such a short time wouldn't be easy to sort out. Overall the point is it may not be the cancer that kills Walt.

For the record, I think the cancer is going to be his killer. I was just trying to disprove the idea that this show wasn't deep because Adex said he would die via cancer.

Also, the cancer isn't the problem re: the hair, it's the treatment, the chemo. Hence the argument for him being cancer free?

Well this is what a doctor friend told me less than an hour ago, I speculated about the cancer killing him, he just said their is every chance it has gone.

Think about it, he's found in Vermont a year later, with hair and a beard. So it means the chemo has stopped.

After the first episode with the flash forward I felt the cancer had gone.

Jesse said "I told you everything you wanna know", he also looked completely shocked when Todd showed him the meth lab. Seems clear to me they were questioning him about what he said to the police and then probably copped to the idea that he could help Todd cook.

I thought his look of shock was due to the photo of Brock and his Mother on the wall no?

We dont know if he still has cancer or not, him having hair only tells us that he isnt having chemotherapy from now on.

Wow, just wow. Certainly the best 45 minutes of BB so far.

Can actually see Walt turning himself in. Will avenge Hank's death (also hear that his blue Meth is back), I think but not too sure how it'll end. What's he going to use the Ricin for? What's Lydia up to? AND: beard & hair could be glued on...

Then consider the time implications. He had far less than a year to live without treatment last time, no reason to think he'd have longer the second time?

Here's the chess match from the end of the episode, which apparently contains intentional detail:

With the White king is backed into a corner, and the white knight (Jesse?) is about to be taken by the black pawn (Todd?). The pawn will then become a queen and checkmate White's king (Walt?) in matter of moves.

Todd winning out in the end would be a bit shit I think. He's ok as a character, but I'm not as fond of him as others are on here

fecking great episode.

Walt taking the baby was a great plan to get Skylar off the hook. Or it fell into place well, but I think it was intentional.

Anyway here's my thoughts:

- Walt has cancer in the flash forward. He's coughing and taking pills for it.

- The M60 is for Todds uncle and co.

- Ricin could be for anyone, but I think it will be used in a play on someone who has been brought onto Walts side.
Either way, someone is getting the flu and dying shortly after.

- Walt will have left the money somewhere safe and will tell Skylar where it is. If he hasn't already - off screen.

- The timeline from Hank dying to Walts 52nd birthday is probably around 7 or 8 months.

- I hope he told the family where hanks body is. That's a cnuts move if he didn't / doesn't.

Avoiding this thread all day has been bloody difficult!

Christ, what a fecking episode! Probably the best to date but that's quite a shout so I'd have to give it some more thought. Absolutely incredible though.

The pre-title scene did make me wonder if we'd have to wait a whole episode to discover Hanks fate, but they got right to it and just kept going.

Wow. I'm going to be so empty when this show ends.

Intense episode. Loved it, even if it felt a tad fast. The only thing I didn't buy was the Nazis letting Walt and Jesse live - pretty sure they'd have slayed them and kept the loot without the risk of revenge/rats.

I don't, but he is a genius so you never know. I think he took Holly in a fit of panic because his family had just fallen apart.

might be a bit difficult to get in contact with the family now, even if he wanted to tell them where the body is.

Walt really did take that Gus Fring 'a man provides' speech to heart didn't he? After Skyler tried to kill him and his son lied to the police about who instigated the incident he should have said a massive feck you to the pair of them, especially since he was just as heartbroken as them about Hank's death, despite the fact Hank just arrested him.

Finally caught up. I'm not entirely convinced that the birthday we saw Walt 'celebrating' was actually his real birthday. Seems a bit weird to try and start anew with the same birthday. If you're trying to get off the grid, surely every single detail will be changed? Could well be that the cancer finishes him off and that not too much time has passed between him leaving and the glimpses of the future we've already seen.

Yeah. He took Holly out of desperation, then gave her back after she said "mama" there was no long con about it. The whole 'Walt as manipulative genius' thing has fallen apart the last few episodes anyway.

What you've got to understand here though is that neither of them know what happened. All they know is that Hank had put Walt under arrest and now he's dead.

They played that episode perfectly imo. Walts devotion to his family in the face of everything else was heartbreaking. If he stops caring about them then he doesn't have anything left to lose.

Sure, but it would take a special kind of maturity to take the rap for someone who pulled a knife on you, sliced your hand and then went for the kill in order to protect her and the family that just betrayed you.

On another note this is getting increasingly hard to avoid spoilers for on social media, texts, etc... with the time delay.

I'm dreading a spoiler of doom on that final Monday.

Incredible episode. I loved the delayed reaction to Hank being killed and leaving it over to this episode. I thought everything was pointing to a miraculous escape for him with Walt's bargaining which has always been able to work with saving Jesse in the past. Brilliant execution.

It almost kind of reminded me of the Red Wedding in GoT. We're conditioned that when a "good guy" is about to be killed, but someone bargains for their life that they'll somehow get out of it and survive. Like with Catelyn pleading for Robb not to die though, Walt pleading for Hank made no difference even though you get that glimmer of hope that they're somehow going to make it out, especially when BB usually allowed it's main characters to stay alive and didn't kill them.

That's almost like a finale of sorts in regards to Walt and his family like others have said. The Walt/Hank arc is finished and the complete truth is out. Walt/Jesse is still the other major arc to be resolved. Part of me thought they'd team up to take down Todd and his Nazis, but that's out the window. Both despise each other to death now and will want to kill one another desperately. Can't wait to see how their rivalry finishes.

Are you the replacement Liam we ordered?

I'll be turning off my phone the night before and not turning it on until I've seen the finale

I'm almost afraid of the next two episodes after watching that. Don't know what's in store.

I think Walt knew exactly why he was taking Holly - I think he sussed it when he said "WE'RE A FAMILY!.........we're a family" and was looking upon Skyler and Jr. cowering in fear from him. I think seeing them so scared gave him the idea that he can pretend he treated her/them this way the entire time.

Just finished the episode, I thought the last episode was fantastic, but that managed to top it. Once again Cranston put in one hell of a stint, that phone call was phenomenal, after all that he's done you couldn't help but feel compassionate for Walt.

I have to gloat a little bit though, from last week:
I have to agree with the Walt being dead theory, well technically dead. After watching the last episode I can only see the following happening:
  1. Hank will die, his phone call for Marie kind of signalled that, and Gomie will die along with him.
  2. The rednecks now want Jesse, not Walt. They didn't care about shooting the car Walt was in and they could clearly hear him saying the deal was off.
  3. Saul's line "Don't drink & drive" to Walt Jr. seemed like a sign too, he'll go on a downward spiral when he hears his father has died and could be involved in a drink drive accident.
Of course this could work with Walt being framed for the murder of Hank & Gomie, either way I reckon a connection to him (blood?) will be found at the scene. Regarding Walt getting ready for Armageddon, he's going for the rednecks - two reason's why he would do this - either he is going to ignore what's happened with Jesse and rescue him (again) for one final time or, the more likely scenario, Jesse will inform the rednecks about the buried money. Jesse wants nothing more than to see Walt lose his cash, Walt will do anything to keep the cash for his family, so this will lead to a big face off. The ricin is what gets me, why does he need it? For himself. Or is he going to try and use it on Jesse if he gets to him.
 I can even see my third point happening still, they made a keen point of Skyler telling Walt Jr. to put on his seatbelt!

feck me what a galling, harrowing, brilliant episode.

Hero? Anti Hero? feck only knows. feck everything.

Caught up on the last 5 episodes over the last few days. feck.

I just want a happy ending for Jesse, but I really can't see it happening.

It does but Todd needs to up his meth game, jesse can teach him, then he can bang Lydia.

They need the confession tape, but that indicts Walter mainly.

Adzz has the answer

Something I just remembered - Jesse told the Nazi's where to find his taped evidence. I guess Marie can expect a visit from them soon.

Mike really screwed up when he claimed to have checked out Todd's prison contacts.

His uncle is the leader of a neonazi gang.. meh, they are alright.

Amazing episode

I love this video, makes you appreciate the acting of Cranston

I just want a happy ending for Jesse, but I really can't see it happening.

Yeah. I hope Walt gets what's coming to him eventually, he's basically the cancer destroying the lives of everyone he comes into contact with (hooray for symbolism). I'd like Jesse to shack up with that Mexican bird and the excellently named Brock.
