Television Better Call Saul | Includes Breaking Bad Spoilers

Is there no chance of a season post BB timeline? Probably not I guess. Shame though.
I remember the talk before the show aired was that the timeline would be pre, during and post BB but that's probably just the Cinnabon era Jimmy parts. Hard to know how or why he would do anything but lay low post BB.

This season was make or break for me and just about made it. To be honest, if you could condense season 1 and 2 down to a single season and have the third as the second season it would be a pretty decent show. I think it gets away with a lot because of Breaking Bad.

I wonder if we will ever get Jesse Pinkman or Hank in the series.

Saul mentions in Breaking Bad that his wife left him for another man, assuming he's referring to Kim how far off are we from that happening?

I'd hope for at least a season of him in full on Saul Goodman mode, the dodgy court cases, etc...

So you're looking at another 2 series of this yet...at least...

How much time has passed in the 3 seasons to date?

If I remember right the show started as being set 6 years before Breaking Bad, so there should be plenty of scope for more to happen.

The occasionally crawling pace to “Better Call Saul” isn’t just limited to the protagonist’s contact information. Calendar-flipping hasn’t exactly been speedy in AMC’s Albuquerque, New Mexico, area.

“Our show always moves at a deliberate pace,” Hutchison said. “Sometimes we move a little bit slower than we might have expected. We’re in 2003 now, and I think we started in 2002. We have a very intricate timeline that our writers’ assistant and our script coordinator keeps, making sure that we know exactly where we are. We have a certain number of years before to get to ‘Breaking Bad,’ we want to make sure everybody has their target by the time we get there.”

No issue there: Saul Goodman meets Walter White (Bryan Cranston) in 2008, which means these two are still half-a-decade apart from their fateful consultation.

No it needs to burn slower

Interesting, thanks.

I'm done with this show to be honest. If it wasn't for my love of BB (which I've nearly completed for the second time) I wouldn't have even finished season 1.

Couldn't disagree more. I think it's fantastic, with a great turn by Odenkirk. I actually like it better than Breaking Bad (although I guess it benefits from knowing how things eventually turn out.) BCS and The Leftovers have been incredible this year.

I agree. It's better than Breaking Bad, which was just ludicrous to the point of being unwatchable for me by the middle of the second season.

I'm pretty sure we could have the first few episodes of season 1, cut everything else until this season, and the show and plot would not lose much. Still enjoyed this latest season though.

Love BCS but it's a different beast to BB.
Would be good to see a season that crosses over the BB timeline
So many people complain about the pacing but I think it's just right and hope we see a lot more before it catches up.
For those who don't like it...just stop watching it. Simple!

I'm in an odd position in that I only watched the first series of BB a couple of years back. I have now watched all three series of BCS.

I'm now planning to watch the rest of BB. A mate of mine reckons I've actually happened upon a good way of watching it all.

Weird you say this, was discussing with a mate today about how it would be cool to watch it all chronologically.

The BBC did it with Godfather (edited it so that it begins with the flashbacks in 2 and seemlessly moves through the ages) and it was class. Obviously a completely different undertaking, as it's a series, but would still be quality I reckon.

Chronological order would just be to wait for Better Call Saul to be finished and watch it all then Breaking Bad.

If I'd never seen Breaking Bad I'd have had nowhere near the patience required to get this far with BCS.

I remember the Godfather thing you mention now you've said it. That did work well. The main difference with BB / BCS would be the actors getting oddly younger as the series progressed into BB

Renewed for a 4th season.

I wish Mike was few years younger, his story line is way more powerful than Saul Goodman's. To be honest, I would have stopped watching it a long time ago if it weren't for Mike in it.

He's a great character, no doubt. Truth is I have really enjoyed Chuck for the most part as well. Mike is indeed aging quickly but then again so is Gus (You can see it in his gait).

They need to hurry up and film it, Jonathan Banks is 70 ffs he can't keep playing Mike forever!

Just finished watching this series (Was waiting for Stranger Things 2 before getting the Netflix free trial) I'm really surprised by the number of positive comments in here, I enjoyed the first and second series but this one has been so dull. It doesn't get going until the seventh episode, before that it really just plods along, rather amateurish in parts and is so pointless, calling it filler would be too polite.

I'll definitely stick with it for the fourth series because there's an awful lot of loose ends which need to be tied up. I can't see them going with a fifth series in the risk it might get binned which could easily happen if they have another series where half the episodes are just nothing.

The best episode in the entire show was episode 5, 'Chicanery'. The court battle and breakdown of Jimmy and Chuck's relationship was insanely good television. Series 3 was fantastic, I'm guessing that's why there have been so many positive comments from fans and critics.

Yeah, bit weird to think that seasons one and two were better than 3. Easily the most interesting one.

It's an incredibly slow show and I don't know how anyone who hasn't watched BB beforehand could cope.

Problems with prequels.

 He clearly paid for some sort of surgery with all the money from Gus. Duhhhhhh...

I see your "several years ago Mike Ehrmantraut" and I raise you timestamp 1.20 into this clip …, watch it all though, admittedly it's aged as it dates from from 3 years ago but, John Oliver is the best thing on TV!

And also see 20:30 (although for context, if not watching it all 17:00 onwards)

That short sex ed video at the end is Brilliant. it starts at 17.42. I'd have much rather watched that then had a fat PHSE teacher stand in class putting a condom on her dildo to demonstrate to us how it's done. I kid you not - that happened. it was purple and one of those plastic generic shaped ones!

Last Week Tonight with JO is the best show on TV! If you can't find whole episodes (which are readily available) there are a ton of segments, like this one, on the Last Week Tonight You Tube channel!

Thought this was bumped because there was news about S4 :boring:
Sorry the bump didn't satisfy your curiosity … however, even though I defend the post 100%, I'd recommend that you really shouldn't rely on the CAF for your news feed!
Let me introduce you to something new and fangled called "google, com" which can be used to search and find out all sorts of interesting facts … including that S4 has been in production since January and is heading to our screens for a mid-summer launch.

I was mainly jesting, but tbf the bump was completely irrelevant to BCS.
