Ayden Heaven

Ooh, baby, do you know what he’s worth?
Ooh, Heaven wants a place as CM
They say with Heaven, CM comes first
We'll give Heaven a place as CM

..I’ll get my coat :(

It’s obvious we’re prioritising athleticism and physicality with our young signings which is a gold sign as it’s a massive issue. Kone last season and Heaven and Dorgu this one.

He’s got minutes for Arsenal in the league cup this season so hopefully isn’t that far away.
Think it was to get him to sign as he doesn't really look fully ready yet. Which is normal for an 18y old defender.
I don't know if we're losing something or you're gaining something but to consider him a first team signing is weird. I would say he's a good 2/3 years off being able to play in the PL.
Smart signing anyway, cheap potential in an area you will need bodies soon.

Kone isn't very physical at all!

Maybe potential to mature into a deceptively strong player but he's small and lean

seems a promising prospect. If you look at him, Kone, Obi Martin, and even a while back Garnacho, there is certainly some worth to this approach and maybe its one thing we might be doing well these days, but wont see the reward of for a while

Heaven, must be missing an Ayden,
Missing one Ayden child,
Cos' he's here with us right now.

...Got a spare coat?

I love this sort of signing.

Rather than paying the £75m for Branthwaite - essentially trying to get "the next one" for peanuts instead.

Sounds like he is decent and has a good chance of making it here long term.

Ok, enough now, take who you want but just stay away from Nwaneri, Lewis-Skelly and Dowman please.

Thank you.

When I see their happy faces smilin' back at me

I know there's no greater feelin' than the love of family!

Forgive my lack of knowledge about Arsenal youth players but can you tell me about Dowman? Where does he play, whats he like?

1.98m, apparently. From what I have observed, built like a brick house and technically good. Has a good eye for line breaking passes, quick, athletic and strong aerially. United need more quality like this. Hopefully he steps up.

Are Arsenal fans annoyed or not bothered he is leaving?

You'll get your usual spectrum of folk that now think he's shite that rated him before, folk that are gutted he's going, and everything in between.

I can't say I know enough to give you a proper scout report. As has been posted before , he started off as a midfielder and like Chido was very physically dominant compared to his peers. We then moved him to centre back where he's done well but seemingly he still gets caught out occasionally positioning wise.

I think the main talents from our academy are the 3 mentioned in my previous post. Most other players are good, but like anything with youngsters a lot is down to luck and if they can make that last step up into senior football.

Defo worth a punt on the boy though.

Nice. Hopefully low risk but love that we're bringing this young profile into the first team squad.

Closer to 1.89m. Chido is somewhere between 1.86 and 1.88, I believe.

Dowman has just turned 15 and been playing U18 football since he was 13. He's been training with the first team for a few months now, an attacking midfielder, left footed, already a good size, many think he's the best we have in the academy currently. However, always with that caveat that many were massive on Charlie Patino.

Wow that's impressive

I mean it literally says in the tweet he will provide competition with lisandro and be considered a first team signing and lets be honest Chido wasnt far away from the first team

Thats our first team, and I doubt it anyway. But even if its true then that has nothing to do with Arsenal's first team. Chido has spent most of this season playing u18s for us, he wouldnt have been playing in Arsenal's first team either

So its ridiculous to even suggest that Arsenal are a feeder club when we arent even signing their first team players

That's the spirit

Its a fact. We're signing their young players who see a better route to the first team at United. They werent getting what they wanted at Arsenal and as Chido has shown, it's slow progress here as well. He would have been playing at the same level if he had stayed at Arsenal.

Is Heaven an even bigger unit than Godwill?

Of course happy that they join/joined us, but I don't really understand Heaven's and Chido's thought process behind this. How are we offering an easier path to the first team? We just signed two players that'll play CB and have a young striker project up top. Arsenal have shown, nearly as much as we did, that they're happy to play youth players, too.

These kind of signings are a must, we need to be making a lot more of them.

If they make it then we save a massive fee, if they don't it's low risk and in most cases can be sold for profit.
