Ayden Heaven

I don't mind making these type of signings, provided we gave them chances in the first team in a few years time.
We do usually play them, but if they don’t reach Ballon d’Or levels if consistency before 21, we may turn on them.

First we will cry for him to get minutes because « why not play the youth, it can’t be any worse! ».
Once played, instead of realizing youth players are inconsistent and need time to develop, we will come to the conclusion that he is « not good enough ». We will also speculate about his work ethics, entourage, and wages.
Then, we will compare him to a 26yo player who took time to develop and establish himself as a proper player and use it to shit on our scouts/directors/whoever back office person we decided to pile on at that time.
Rinse and repeat

He's 189cm already and only Maguire and Yoro are taller from our first team CBs

I know he was highly rated and probably the highest of Arsenal's youth CBs, although not the highest rated player as those are in other positions with the likes of Skelley, Dowman and Nwaneri.

Watching him he looks a good prospect so worth picking up, but likely to continue playing at the youth levels

Starting Collyer to show Ayden that we promote youth to the first team, 3D chess from Amorim.

We really should be putting Obi Martin on the first team bench to entice talent from clubs like Arsenal that our pathway to the first team is better for them

Would be a good idea if Arsenal didn't already have 2 guys from his same age group actually getting substantial first team minutes.

Can’t believe somebody at the club thought that bringing him to watch us “play” would be helpful.
Well maybe it works like "look at how shite they are, imagine how easily you could become a starter!"

I don't know a ton about him, but he didn't look out of place in the senior team in pre-season.

Of course it would. They’ll be telling him, look how shit the competition for first team is.
They might not frame it like that, but a major factor in his probable departure is that it's pretty clear that he's not displacing Gabriel any time soon. And the competition at DM is even worse.

Arguing over your position at 18 is a minor red flag for me. Neither Lewis-Skelly or Nwaneri play in their preferred position for the first team and both look happy just to be getting minutes. They are by far our brightest talents of this crop of youngsters and they happily play where needed. I'm getting a faint whiff of Ainsley Maitland-Niles from Heaven.

The lad is well aware of the impact this transfer is having on Arsenal's mood.

Heaven knows they're miserable now

Listened to that song this morning - well played

Pretty much no downside to transfer like this. Worth a punt and never against poaching from Arsenal, who no doubt were bigging him up last week and this week will be claiming he’s overrated just like Chido.

I was named after him and that’s my parents wedding song. Can’t believe I’d ever see him on the cafe!

Hey hey don’t forget that’s a Bryan Adams song first ;)
There is more to this than meets the eye. There is a general consensus he is better as a midfielder than centre back.

Mate it reads that his camp wants him to be a cm, that’s not a general consensus. Didn’t rashford want to be a striker at one point, my apologies if it wasn’t him but someone’s camp isn’t General consensus

Downside is if we over pay on wages or transfer fee with young players- is he moving on a free?

Maybe we can develop him to a strong, tall DM here?

The middle CB needs to be a good passer and steps up into the DM spot in the buildup often, maybe we're looking at/selling him on that role? De Ligt has some good qualities defensively but he's just not a good fit in this system.
