Arturo Vidal

Fair enough mate. Real is the exception to the rule and such a scenario is partially plausible. But I don't think a player choosing United over them means he lacks ambition. Who knows maybe Vidal thinks it's a bigger challenge to resurrect a temporarily fallen giant than join Real's all star collection and steamroller over the others. We can't possibly fathom what he might decide in the end. But I don't think it's fair to make blanket statements that every ambitious player would choose Real over us. It's not reflective to United's stature in the game.
Sure he chose Juve who at the time were certainly on the downside of their luck over a strong Bayern. Like you say he might just enjoy these sort of challenges.

I want Vidal as much as the next guy, but £60 mil is too much.

I couldn't give a bollocks about fees at this stage, we're in such a sorry state...

We've over-payed for two players already, might as well carry on...

Too expensive and ambitious on our part, lets just sign Michael Bradley. here fishy fishy.

Don't we have a rule about quoting shitty sources?
He's had Sir Alex Ferguson and various other people who are connected to United on his Radio show. He also called the Moyes Sacking before anyone else.

From what I've seen from him on Twitter, he seems to know a few things. Worth posting IMO.

Who cares about the fee anyway? Pay whatever it takes!

We've seen varying different fees been quoted in the press, anything from £30 million to £60 million.

Real Madrid paid 70million euros for a 29 year Zidane. World class players pay dividends, you simply get what you pay for. Van Gaal, Moyes, Woodward and higher up people at Old Trafford have blabbed all season that we have a unlimited budget etc..etc. We should easily be able to finance a deal for Vidal if we want him.

Vidal is probably the best box to box midfielder on the planet and would improve any side in the world, literally. £60million is peanuts if he helps us claim for 21st title, the TV revenues alone these days would pay his transfer fee back 3 fold.

£60 million would make him the third most expensive player ever. I'm sorry, as good as he is, he's not that good.
Yes he is, that good. Would be worth every penny. Probably by far and away the best all-round box to box midfielder on the planet. We would definitely see a positive return on the investment.

We're talking abut him costing £60 million, whats £45 million got to do with it?

I only quickly googled it, but money wise most places are placing the Zlatan transfer at £59 mil.
Fair enough, I have always been under the impression that Zlatan was £60m+.

Anyway, with the £ v € exchange rate, Zidane is still the 3rd highest transfer fee by € terms.

If we're willing to spend £60m on a midfielder i'd rather spend it on Pogba than Vidal if I'm honest.

Pogba is worth £60m. Vidal £45m or so due to his age.

Actually, feck it, just throw money at Juventus until they give us one of them.

Nah, we'd get three years max from Pogba.

I said he will most likely cost around £45million, that is what most of the reputable journo's are saying.

You said he's not worth £60million, but if he helps us win the league next season, his investment would already have been repaid at least 2/3 fold, with the new Premier League and CL TV deals. He is also a very marketable athlete from a region which is still relativity untapped by United.

You also said he's not worth being the 3rd most expensive player of all time, I'm sorry but that's ridiculous. He's the best midfielder in the world, he would improve ANY team in the world. You also have to factor in the state of our midfield right now and how much he will improve it.

Vidal: Hey Sanchez, are you going to be part of the deal for Suarez

Sanchez: I am going to Juv

Vidal: what? I'm heading to United!

Sanchez: shit bro, okay I'll call my agent for a switch to united.

I dunno what will happen from now on, but I hope we pay the fee for this guy. As people wrote before me, he's the best midfielder in the world right now and he would be the key man in mounting a genuine title challenge.

In 3 words: JUST BRING IT!

Is this RAWK?

As others are said, if we're actually in for him then to hell with the fee, just pay whatever Juve want to get him.

We'd be brilliant if we had him, genuinely right back in it and then a good challenge in Europe the year after. Why wouldn't we?

My sources tell me that if we sign him he will be a Manchester United player next year but if we don't its highly unlikely he will be playing here this season :p
(Sarcasm just incase people thought I was serious)
