Arturo Vidal

My sources tell me that if we sign him he will be a Manchester United player next year but if we don't its highly unlikely he will be playing here this season :p
(Sarcasm just incase people thought I was serious)

Woah, your sources are so accurate that it won't be wrong at all.

Yep I've got all the answer it seems haha.
But in all seriousness I can't see us spending the 60 odd million on Vidal. I rate him as a top 3 midfielder in the world and arguably the top midfielder and would love him in the team but I have my doubts that we will chase him to hard.

It's amazing how people get away with calling us "a piece of !@#$ club" on that forum, while if you call any major European club something like that on here, you'll get pulled up on it. I would like to think that is not the general perception of us as a club among the Juventus fans, because I have always liked them as a club (maybe a little less after they snatched Pogba).

Nobody is thinking that way. The transfer forum gets the same way every summer. It becomes a playground for sarcasm and dick jokes.
I'll rephrase that: admittedly Vidal is a top player, but for there's a huge amount of excitement over a transfer that's far from certain.

I hope if there is something in it doesn't drag out to long. It's highly unlikely we'll get Vidal so we better not be wasting time like we did with Fabregas last summer.

I no it wont happen, but imagine if we was able to strike a deal where we can give them all our dead wood that might do ok over there in Italy.

Anderson, Nani, Fletcher, Cleverley see you later boys

Why are those Juve forum people so hostile? We're not even supposed to be rivals. I always thought there was mutual respect between the two clubs. I grew up being in awe of the Juve sides of the late 90s. We always had our asses handed over to us until that 2-3 win for us at Turin. What a night that was.

Leave them to stew, it must be tough when your league drops so low it ends up nestled somewhere between Ligue 1 and the Eredivisie.

I'm sure our fans will react with equal hostility if Juve were in for our key player, De Gea for example, and if they have the financial clout to make it happen.

No we won't. We did not react that way when they got Pogba, nor did we react similarly when they were sniffing around Adnan before he signed a new contract.

We did not react that way when we lost Ronaldo either.

If a top class player leaves the club, instead of blaming the other club, we usually look for the reason that we lost the player.

They are hilarious.

They want 60m? Fine. Zidane went for 45m in 2001.

Take the money and bribe your way to some more league titles.

Respect for that club was lost when they were exposed as cheats.

They were once considered a European powerhouse and then just turned into a blip on the radar.

The only reason they'll be significant this summer is because we may be taking their asset away.

English speaking fan forum for an Italian club, calling other clubs out for being glory hunters..

I still cant get over the fact we wont be getting Bradley.. :(

I hate Juve with a passion btw, Roma being my 3rd favourite club doesnt help either.

One guy wanted 5m, Evra, and Nani for Vidal. What a great deal.

Too bad he doesn't do the negotiations for Juve.

I don't know if you have been lurking around the forum before you got an account, but if you have been looking at the Ronaldo thread many years back, you would notice the amount of vitriol that some posters have for Real Madrid's year on year attempt to poach/sign Ronaldo.

Pogba was more of a mixed case - we recognised that there were a combination of factors that result in him leaving - there are quite a no. of debate, till now even, about how Sir Alex is the major cause of it by playing Rafael in CM against Blackburn rather than giving Pogba a chance. There were rumours of the Pogba and his agent demanding huge money, which is outrageous for a player from the youth who hasn't proven himself at top level yet; and Sir Alex isn't keen to set a precedence by giving in. Pogba's agent Riola is also quite well know to be a dick who constantly moves his players for money; Pogba himself is also quite the mercenary.

Real's behavior was deplorable when they were courting Ronaldo and we were right to be pi**ed off at them. You'd see that the reactions on this forum when Barcelona were trying to buy back Fabregas were similar. Both those clubs went about those deals in very classless manners. The situation can in no way be compared to this, because for all we know we might not even be in for Vidal and will just buy Strootman and be done with it.

EDIT: 5555 posts. Guess I should be hopping at this moment.

Sure he chose Juve who at the time were certainly on the downside of their luck over a strong Bayern. Like you say he might just enjoy these sort of challenges.

He needed to play to develop though, he would have got less playing time at Bayern.

Now he is the complete midfielder, he doesn't need to go somewhere with less competition.

Football fans of these large clubs are the same in general though man. We one this forum may be like you have mentioned but outside of this forum, there are plenty of fans you wouldn't even want to associate with. So can't say our fans wont be bitter.

Real Madrid were obviously getting encouraged by Ronaldo or his agent so its hard to be angry with them for being interested. If a player is desperate to go then usually not much point keeping them, in Ronaldo's case we got an extra season out of him but I think most of us had accepted he was going.

It wasn't that they wanted to buy him, it was the way they went about it. I don't know why I even have to explain this.

Wasn't it Fabio? Which is even worse.

We should have known he was a mercenary, after all he only ran out on Le Havre to join us as we offered his family a bundle of cash and 2 houses.
