You said fitness concerns, not injury.Whats funny about that? He wasnt selected for the world cup because he was injured... why wasnt he selected then?
You do surely know the difference here, right?

Didnt you say he wasnt seleceted due to fitness concerns?
Falcao does not = Costa, Costa is ahead right now. I dont actually think many of you realise how Falcao has declined since his move from Atletico, I have BT sport so saw a lot of Monaco, he wasnt selected for the world cup due to the fitness concerns either. He has lost that yard of pace that made him so deadly.
Eeerm. No, it doesn't really. Not if you ask me.Fitness concerns means injury doesnt it?
Fitness concerns would be more like Costa for Spain or the CL final.Fitness concerns means injury doesnt it?
You mean the World Cup that Costa was absolute gash in?
With everyone fit, we'd also have the likes of Smalling, Valencia, Carrick, Mata, Van Persie, januzaj on the bench PLUS Fletcher, Fellanai and the kids.
More than strong enough to win the league this year as that's our only focus.
Fitness concerns would be more like Costa for Spain or the CL final.
Falcao was injured, i.e. simply could not play any football.
How am I having to explain this to a grown man who follows football?
What the 3 games spain played where their entire team was gash? Or perhaps the previous season where Costa tore La Liga apart?
Erm defence?
He ruled himself out.As far as I remembered it was touch and go wasn;t it, didnt think it had ruled him out 100%?
Yes he was...in a significantly better midfield that allowed him the freedom to go forward and express himself. I must admit I see Di Maria as a winger in 1 4-3-3 personally though I am happy to be wrong about that.
As I said it will be interesting...perhaps Herrera will sit deeper.
If you add Vidal to the midfield it would become unbalanced again, he would have been a wonderful pre-Herrera signing, but now he would be in competition with Herrera in the same way Shinji was in competition with Mata.
------Blind------
Herrera---Di Maria

This is not going to happen.
Erm defence?
He ruled himself out.
It's also a ridiculous argument to attempt to use as a claim to Costa being the better player.
You mean the same La Liga Falcao tore apart?
Stop talking nonsense. Falcao will do his talking on the pitch and I am pretty sure he will prove an excellent signing. As soon as United open the chequebook a lot of jealousy surfaces. You lot have spend ridiculously over the past few years, the majority of which has been not the clubs money but a Russian billionaire.
We have been rather quiet the past few years with the odd signing here and there. Now is our time to have the limelight...
Deal with it!
Dead in the water? This is not going to happen.
Falcao tore that same La liga apart.
If you don't like it why do you read it.Deal with what? There is no jealousy from Chelseas point, were not Liverpool or Arsenal who are struggling in areas that United are signing in or even in competition with United in any way shape or form, its just because you are signing players and becoming a bit insufferable despite the fact you are as unbalanced as a vertigo sufferer standing at the top of the Burj Khalifa.
Vidal and Benatia and you could go as muppet and insufferable as you liked, because they would make you such a force
He is for Chile.Vidal is not an attacking midfielder.
Benatia's signed for Bayern, hasn't he?Vidal and Benatia and you could go as muppet and insufferable as you liked, because they would make you such a force
Agreed but that was 2 seasons ago pre injury and pre Monaco.
Benatia's signed for Bayern, hasn't he?
Vidal is not an attacking midfielder.
Oh yeah, get you now.Yeah Im talking in retrospect though, I was genuinely concerned when you were likely to sign Vidal and Benatia because of the lack of CL football helping you out. I can see you scoring more with Falcao but still conceding so many.
The amount of forwards in our squad now means we'll be playing something like this i think, and need either Carvalho or De Jong imo. We couldn't ask Vidal to do this i don't think:
--------Vidal-----------
----Herrera-Mata-------
Di Maria----------Rooney
--------Falcao----------
You're not wrong, Costa has a better all round game but Falcao's finishing is better. He was never the quickest anyway.Falcao does not = Costa, Costa is ahead right now. I dont actually think many of you realise how Falcao has declined since his move from Atletico, I have BT sport so saw a lot of Monaco, he wasnt selected for the world cup due to the fitness concerns either. My thinking was along the lines....
Blind (defensive)
Di Maria (attacking)
Herrera (bit of both)
As a midfield 3 i think they offer a nice mix/balance!
I saw Vidal challenging (displacing) Herrera in that formation. But would you argue that Vidal would be more in competition (again no competition really) with Blind for the defensive role?
But which ever way you look at it! if Vidal arrives then it would be like signing a new player to play ahead of a new player. But if united have the money then i'm not against the idea as such.
