You can only sign what's available and I suspect our spending isn't done. We have no idea what will happen in January or next summer so just enjoy the positives and stop dwelling on the negatives.

But he played in a midfield 3. Against Burnley he played in amidfield 2. I dont count Mata as a midfielder for obvious reasons. If we play with Blind and Herrera in a midfield 3, that would be nice. In no way should he play in a midfield 2 with a no 10 in front of him.
I'm 'not happy' because we're building our success on individuals, a striker, again. Instead of strenghtening the areas we need to strengthen, defence and midfield, to function as a team.
Yes he was...in a significantly better midfield that allowed him the freedom to go forward and express himself. I must admit I see Di Maria as a winger in 1 4-3-3 personally though I am happy to be wrong about that.
As I said it will be interesting...perhaps Herrera will sit deeper.

Between splashing cash on Vidal or buying Schneiderlin, i'd go with the frenchman. I know Vidal is world class (or at least he used to be) but his knee looks fecked.
That isn't what you were saying though, you were saying he isn't a central midfielder which he quite clearly is. As well as being a winger of course.

We're yet to see Rafael and Shaw in a competitive match for us and I hope it will work as good as expected, okay. But why would Falcao make a big difference to our play compared to Van Persie, I agree that he's a upgrade on him, but more of a luxury upgrade than a needed one. We saw the team play quite a few times this season already and although the pre-season looked impressing we didn't click at all after that and there got to be a better solution than adding world-class players to the team. We don't function as a team yet. I don't want to be dependent on Di Maria carrying us every single game.
We need players to improve our build-up play, I don't see Falcao helping us in that respect. But given how terrible our strikers have performed so far this season it might not be such a bad idea after all.
I think it's more down to RVP needing surgery and the fact he is 31 now. We've had him for 2 years, we knew it wouldn't be for that long. Ideally he won't leave though and will be happy being managed.
He said in his interview that's where he expects to play too I think. Either way he's great in central midfield, better than on the wing on evidence so far. He also played centrally at Benfica supposedly so it isn't just last season.

Falcao does not = Costa, Costa is ahead right now. I dont actually think many of you realise how Falcao has declined since his move from Atletico, I have BT sport so saw a lot of Monaco, he wasnt selected for the world cup due to the fitness concerns either. He has lost that yard of pace that made him so deadly.
I've heard of the injury. Even without RVP we'd have a great striker in Rooney and could finally play a balanced team with one striker, but it seems to me that we don't want that. I've also heard of the Chicharito and Welbz rumours, but it's all so unnecessary.
Falcao had an injury hit season where he only managed to play 19 games and still scored 11. Show me any striker who can spend the season in and out of the team and still look sharp and fit.

Yep, thats what I said, it was quite a severe injury though, since hes been back hes lost a bit of that explosiveness. Loan deal kind of makes it risk free though, but it is in no way near the best attack in the premier league.
