Arturo Vidal

"This is a real quote" but without having an actual quote. Just a paraphrase of what he supposedly said behind closed doors.

Marotta: "I don't think he'll leave us..." . Hardly sounds definitive.

I'd like to sign Vidal but given the cash the club has splashed on players in the last 6 months, I don't think we can say that we are afraid to pay big fees when we want to. So if this deal is not happening, it's because either Juve just wanted way, way too much or there are genuine concerns over his knee. Either way, I think we can be relieved it hasn't happened in those circumstances.

If he can be got at the right price, then I'm all for it. At this point half of me wants us to sign him just to see the reaction of Omid Zamani. Surely one of the biggest losers on the internet.

Actually think hes a cool lad unlike some of the other Juventus fan accounts who were abusive or disrespectful of United fans. He tweets whats in Italian newspapers regarding Juventus so he can hardly be blamed for anything.

Back on topic looks like nothing really happened last night so lets see what news is out today. Still dont think this will happen its too late in the transfer window

He hasn't been disrespectful but he has been twattish/annoying to a certain extent with some of his
tweets.

Anyway he has posted some recent tweets on Vidal

Who is this Omid guy? I always see him post but nothing of credit has come from him yet.

He seems to just be reposting news from the Italian media in English. His profile says he's a journalism student.

He is just a Juve fan who translates articles from Italian newspapers. I am not sure about his reliability in translating the articles as he is a Juve fan and could put a spin on things. The article which he is translating above is from the fairly reliable journalist Carlo Laudisa of Gazzeta.

Maybe Juve are using him to entice us into a bid, everything seems fishy; Vidal not training much in public, covering his knee, getting caught with ice pack on knee and trying to cover it up, now missing tomorrow's match due to knee problem, Juve requesting Chile to give medical update and Chile not responding after/during the WC.

Seems Juve are panicking that at 27 this is the last chance they can make big bucks from him, but we have been monitoring the situation and have decided he is to much of a risk and are now targeting Carvalho. I could be wrong but we haven't even put a bid in and GDS keep saying we have and rejected, maybe to make it look like to Juventus fans that they are trying not to sell.

I could be wrong, but even if we bid it will be late to make Juve sweat.

You were stringing everyone along and you know it. I remember you saying you won't be a member anymore on here if we don't sign him, too. All that coming from a long term member and one who people used to respect, so you could understand that people would get hyped about it if they knew someone like that was putting their e-balls on the line

So it wasn't the "pretend ITK's" wrong info and you were just making the whole thing up?
Were you crying as you typed this?

3 pages asking a chef from rural England for PM's giving inside info :lol::lol:

What a thread.

that is funny. I felt abit of a looser asking for 'a pm please carol' for the private fantasy league code, but to be so in need of transfer news takes the biscuit.

Somebody should set up a premium line for the next window.

Juventus fans are pretty pissed of about that Vidal companions quote. They take it as further proof that he really wants to leave and are offended that it seems like the only reason he might stay is because of the United transfer potentially falling through.

Yesterday I was ready to give up on the Vidal transfer, but after a good nights rest I have come to my senses again. Nothing stops this train.

I'm a law student, you wouldn't take my legal advice on twitter seriously would you?

Juventus fans are the biggest bunch of cnuts I've ever seen. They make your average Rawkite look good.

i predict this thread will eclipse the Thiago Alcantara one as the ultimate muppet meltdown as Vidal is denied because his car breaks down outside his personal jet on the runway, 10 minutes before the end of deadline day.

On or off?
I think there are more reasons for this to be on, than off.
  • Reported for months that we've been interested (granted, not by our media), yet Vidal hasn't publicly quashed any of these rumours. In fact he has added fuel if anything.
  • Reading between the lines it seems that Juve are wanting to sell at the right price.
  • Conte left, maybe because he knew that they were willing to sell? Maybe not too, but I like to believe the former.
  • LvG has name dropped him for no reason. Why?
  • All our media are suddenly picking up on our interest after the Di Maria deal has gone through.
  • We briefed the media about Carvalho which to me is an attempt to scare Juve into selling at the price we have seemingly offered.
  • Cleverley reported being sold and with LvG saying we were light in midfield there is no way IMO that we would be selling him if we didn't have someone lined up. Oh yeah, what number is Cleverley again?
  • Apparently he came out and said to team mates he was not leaving? Yet a day earlier he had said goodbye to teammates? Yeah, whatever.
  • Oh I nearly forgot. Juve manager has said he's fit and like a caged animal, yet now all of a sudden he's training on his own because he's now not fit? I smell something...
It's ON! I expect this deal to be wrapped up when Clevs moves on.

I think @Sir A1ex has replaced Pexbo as the leading muppetlord of this thread. Pexbo has been clearly called out for the fraudulent trickster he is. Cooking up stories and all. Fine detective work there golazo. Now Sir A1ex is the real deal, he has his own Italian ITK from the newbies. Where do I sign up to get an ITK newbie?

You can have mine if you like, I'm bored of copy and pasting, and he's started asking me questions.

Even if Cleverley is sold, we still needed one more. So I hope we get two CMs.

I think we can do it as we will be getting rid of 5 players atleast and most likely get £30m from transfer fees too.

Plus you missed out "I am not leaving at this point" we carry ON

I don't really believe that quote tbh, as like I said, a day or so earlier he apparently told team mates that he leaving.

We only seem to want to loan out our players. Get rid, redeem some cash

At least they're saving a year's wages, which is a lot of moolah. If they have a year of playing every week it could increase their value. Not only that but the people who need the players may not be offering to buy them, some of these guys are expensive for the types of clubs they are likely to do well in. Not only that but we don't seem to be struggling for cash to buy with right now.

I thought we pay the wages when we send players on loan? And the team we are loaning to pays us some sort of fee.

I know we are still paying Nani's wages.

Probably not. But when he cites the source he's still somewhat useful as he's just relaying information.

i don't think the meltdown would be as bad as last year this time since whatever happens from here we'll have at least signed several potential stars and not just Fellaini, we have Van Gaal instead of Moyes and so on.

I've been reading Juventus forums quite a bit this summer, especially one called Vecchia Signora. A select few are reasonable, but as a whole they are an interesting bunch for sure. For one, they are laughing at the state of us at every turn. Suppose this infuriating Vidal saga has made them despise us. Players like Smalling and Rafael are ridiculous footballers in their view. I didn't expect a Juventus forum to have a 5 page thread on the MK Dons game alone. Also we've overpaid for basically all our signings this summer, many of which are average like Herrera.

Another thing that really surprised me is how every single one of seem to view the Calciopoli scandal as one big conspiracy (here's where your RAWK analogy really rings true). Moggi is a hero to them despite all the evidence. I suppose he reminds them of the long gone days where they were truly among Europe's elite.

The point about Calciopoli is the thing that turned me off talking to them. Several of them actually think it was a joint operation between Moratti and Berlusconi to screw Juve. I've also heard several allege the ref at Old Trafford during the Champions league final was bought and paid for by Silvio. What burns them is the fact that for such an Iconic club (and they most certainly are) they have as many European Cup wins as Porto.

it is surely not off, this will go down to deadline day. I just think if we want him and that depends on his knee, we could get him. But LvG wouldnt name him if his knee would be fecked. We would move on to other targets and wouldnt mention him. I just think Juve play hardball and Vidal doesnt want to put in a transfer request, which complicates the whole thing. I believe that we reached an agreement with Vidal and that we made an offer, but Juve understandably dont want to sell him. Cant understand how people can say this was never on or that we never had any interest. It was so obvious from the beginning with the reports in Italy and Chile, even if we denied our interest to the english media. Last week we changed our opinion suddenly, like Vidal would be a target now and wasnt a month ago. He could easily deny all rumours, but hasnt. He loves the club obviously, but he won everything he could with them. Now with Allegri cant see them winning the CL. He is 27 too, would be the perfect step to another challenge.

On Sunday or Monday we will hear more Vidal news hopefully. I dont expect anything today or tomorrow regarding transfer news from incoming players, so no panic even if it is quiet at the moment. We surely wont settle for Blind or De Jong without trying for Vidal first. We can get Blind or De Jong in a matter of a few hours if we want to. In the meantime working on the Cravalho deal could be useful too.

I really want this to happen if his knee is ok. Forget the two dutch guys and Carvalho, i want Juve to suffer. We waited 2 months for this fecking transfer and watched Chilevision at 3am in the morning, i dont care if i have to wait another few days, i want the self proclaimed best midfielder in the world in our team. That is the confidence i expect our midfielders to have. Carvalho seems kind of perfect too, but i didnt expect us to have interest in him after LvG took over and the interest faided. Seems like a plan B too, could easily be plan A though, but Vidal it is already. Cant get excited about him now after the Vidal interest and the briefing of the media says to me we want to pressure Juve. Everything points to Vidal in the end. Cant wait to see him in the United shirt with the 23 on his back, reminding us what a world class midfielder is capable of. Not to forget the meltdown on the Juve forum and the Omid guy on Twitter. Over to you Woody, let it happen.
