To believe any of these stories we have to accept the premise that Ed Woodward has a direct line to someone at the Daily Star, and provides minute-by-minute accounts.

Alternatively, someone at The Daily Star used to write for Eastenders, and so makes up a daily story line about the Vidal saga.

From what I've seen-most "stories" rehash something in the Italian or Chilean press. Apparently these papers print stories about contracts being signed without going through the seemingly unnecessary step of actually confirming it with United. There's never a line that say, "when contacted United said...."

It's a joke.
 
If you're comfortable with 2 syllable words you're already overqualified to work at the Daily Star.

Am I missing something? The post he quoted is completely normal and what I actually wrote according to my phone rather than the Eastern European name he has quoted me as saying.

Oh it's not very interesting, just some guy on Twitter was pretending to be ITK and feeding me info which turned out to be half right but ultimately wrong.

I was banned from the thread because one of the mods deemed me to be wumming everyone when that was never actually my intention. I've always tried to make it clear as possible that I've just been fecking around for a laugh.

He knows absolutely nothing. He can't tell you. He was stringing everyone along for ages, assuming that the transfer would go through (like most people did), which would've made him look like a god on here when it did go through. Then blames it on some fake Twitter ITK with no followers when it went tits up, so he could get acceptance from the forum again

All that coming from a long term member and one who people used to respect, so you could understand that people would get hyped about it if they knew someone like that was putting their e-balls on the line

I didn't believe it for one bit. Even wrote about it in the newbs when I was still there. But heaps of people were believing him, thinking he must be ITK since he's been on here for over 5 years, seems to be respected and is saying he can be banned if it doesn't come through.

Considering I said something along the lines of "so when some random on twitter started feeding me info, I thought I'd have a laugh and create this uber positive faux persona that 99% of this thread appreciated was me having a joke in what was has been an enjoyable saga with lots of great banter from loads of different people

Would I love Vidal to sign? Of course I would, more than any other player in the world, Ronaldo and Messi included.

Do I take it all very seriously? No, it's all a bit of fun. I'm actually a lot more level headed and now I can see the club is in good hands, I'm looking forward to the longer game of seeing the players Van Gaal puts his trust in bringing it all together.

Oh god I hadn't even thought about the poor noobs. I genuinely didn't think anyone was thick enough to miss the whole joke and think I was actually claiming to be an ITK. I'm a fecking chef from a rural part of England for god sake. I mean seriously I couldn't have been any clearer although I appreciate why I was banned after that post led to 3 pages of posts asking for PM's, although that only happened because the fact I realised the post I had made could easily have been misconstrued as me actually trying to make out I was genuinely ITK when it was quite the opposite. The resulting clean up operation seemed to create some sort of mystery and it all kinda exploded which was really daft.

In fairness to everyone asking for a PM, they weren't just helpless muppets hoping for some sort of ITK info, they were just your average sensible posters wondering what on earth all the fuss was about.
