Arturo Vidal

Why would a top player give up a (presumably) guaranteed income from his contract with Juventus to take the risk of getting injured in his first game for us and not getting paid for however long? It doesn't make sense.

Presumably because he would have the potential to make shit-load more money changing clubs than he would if he stayed put.

Obviously, the devil will be in the detail but you could definitely come up with some sort of incentive-based contract which he would find appealing.

I would think that such a deal would not apply to a new injury. That could lead to some disagreement down the road as to whether something is caused by the previous injury, but only if it pertains to that same knee. I can't imagine that the contract would have him not get paid if he dislocates his shoulder.
I didn't make it clear I was referring to his known problem with his knee. If other clubs know it might be dodgy you can be quite sure it will be targeted.

If there was any chance of getting him then surely Hernandez would be a part of the deal. The fact that Juve are bidding for him makes me think this isn't on.

They don't like saying his name because Japanese find it difficult to say 'V'. It comes out as a 'B' so they avoided that one. They call Vidal Arturo.
Any mentioning of Big Will then? Prince of Bel-Air Carrington? Did they mention any other player who's capable of playing centre-mid? It's a desperate situation.

Rooney … Pot Noodle
Rooney the guy from the washing powder.

Translation: "Vidal to his companions : "I stay at Juve ." Bye bye Manchester, the soap opera is over".

Told you guys it was not happening. We just bought Herrera, so we were not going to buy a player that would play in his role. We should be looking at Mateo Kovaciç or an upcoming number 8 talent to give Herrera competition.

Who is the guy who tweeted that? does he know Vidal personally or connected with the club?

Looks like we missed this opportunity by not making a bid when the timing was right - we waited too long

Even though I'm not convinced this will happen, the glimmer of hope is that Vidal hasn't said anything, all it would take is a simple tweet or quote to kill the speculation.

The amount of times over the last few months we have heard he's coming then the next day he's staying makes anything said about Vidal unbelievable.

Only way of finding out is waiting until Monday.

It's not even a quote, it's "he told his friends at this point he's staying".

Not really anything new because we havent come forward with a formal offer yet.

Maybe United didn't want to pay the big fees required for both ADM and Vidal. Maybe it was one or the other...

They had to throw in "at this point" just to cover their arses, no one knows what is going on, it's all been speculation from the start.

That's no different to all the other BS rumors about him saying this or that with no foundation. I'm not saying at all that I think he's coming, i'd be surprised if he did now (but then Di Maria surprised me) but i don't believe this at all.

Yesterday or the day before someone said that he said goodbye to his teammates. Today someone is saying that he told his teammates that he's staying.

Hard to take either with more than a grain of salt at this point.

I highly doubt that at this stage. Who thought we'd blow 130m so far in this window, and 60m on 1 player? Nobody thought we'd do that, not even the optimistic muppets. Anything's possible at this stage. We're desperate and the board know that.
