Arturo Vidal

After reinventing Dutch football with a 3-5-2 system stolen from Martin O’Neill’s Leicester City side of the late 1990s, he has managed to get Robin van Persie scoring headers from outside the box and transformed Dirk Kuyt into a hard-running tactically astute left-back. The stone-faced Dutchman has even got Arjen Robben admitting he dives after a decade of feigned injuries and faux innocence. Van Gaal is now so confident in his powers of transformation he has set about addressing the chronic deficiencies in the Manchester United midfield. He plans to resolve the lack of steel, creativity and running power in Old Trafford’s central areas in one fell swoop by submitting a £48m bid for Juventus’s Arturo Vidal.

The Chilean action man, who is also interesting Real Madrid and Arsenal, has apparently told Ed Woodward he has a preference to enjoy a season off from the Champions League. Encouraged by Vidal’s apparent lack of money motivation, United are prepared to offer wages of £250,000 a week to land their No1 target. Van Gaal also wants Feyenoord’s Stefan de Vrij to partner Thomas Vermaelen in a new look defence.

Not sure if these are their 'own' rumours or from another source...

Vidal, De Vrij & Vermaelen on top off Bale & Herrera and I'd be more than happy, we'd still need a wide man but if Nani stay's I can still hope

Juventus fans really hate our guts don't they? I've never seen another team outside the PL bang on so much about the money we spend, they're even comparing us to City, Arsenal and Liverpool ect.

Big club spends big money shocker.

What's the name of this Juve forum?

They think Shaw earns 160k a week. Bunch of idiots.

Also if you reading this Juve fans stop being bitter about 99. Funny how they keep moaning about money in English league. They seem to forgotten the 90s in Italy. I think they also forgotten how they paid refs too.

The option would also be there to play:

-------------------------Carrick---------------------
-------Herrera--------------------------Vidal---------

in tougher games, which would be an extremely solid looking unit.
If we didn't sign Mata I'd play that every game.

Exactly. Lots of bs in that forum. Misinformed is an understatement.

On a side note their forum has such a horrible interface. We're lucky redcafe is so easy to navigate and looks good.

It is almost always standard practice for the opposition fans to quote the highest fees/wages when talking about transfers. We are guilty of that as well with the fee for Henderson mostly quoted as £20m, when it is about £15m.

And Juve fans can be bitter all they like, they are the champions of their league and in Europe, and still their is a chance that they might lose their best player to the 7th placed team in England. And they can do NOTHING about it.

What a bunch of scrotes over there . Complete lack of understanding about transfer spending in England.

If you did run through the juv forum, they are comparing our spendings with the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and Man City. They mentioned we keep bitching about Chelsea and Shitty buying titles with their money, yet we are the ones spending the most.

Yes, in terms of net spend we will be better off than some clubs stated but ultimately their point is we spent the most.

If that is their point then it is plain wrong. City and Chelsea's gross spend over last 5 seasons is 150m+ more than us. How come we are spending the most then? Livepool were feeling punch of spending 4 years outside CL otherwise till recently they were above us in net spend and spent almost same amount of money (gross) as us(probably more). Arsenal are the only one spending less.
The money we spend is earned through years of success and sponsorship deals which come with it. Not like City and chelsea who had sugar daddy. Though we have debt, we end up making record profits. It is idiotic if people have problems with United spending 100m+ in one season when serious rebuild is required.

Bloody hell, Chile have been out for days, what's the hold up Woody?

Yeah they calculated from 2011 onwards in which we've spent more apparently.

It is entirely possible that most of them who are criticising our spending might be fans of other clubs in England. Most probably Liverpool... Wherever I see delusion, I see Liverpool fans.

What do you mean by that?

Next year is their year, don't you know.

"Pogba was already established and had achieved more in his career at his (Shaw's) age" What do you mean the same Pogba who was rotting in our reserves:lol:

We have the money. Do it. Sign his mate Sanchez whilst we are at it.

I'd happily see us drop another 80 - 100m on those two.

I know, I had him penciled in on my Christmas card list. Quite easy to rub you out Woodward!
Get it going

Last Christmas list I hope? I don't want to wait for next winter transfer. It will be too late by then

Edit: I think I mistaken it as a Christmas wish list.

Juventus is my 2nd club but I will happily spend time laughing at people on that forum if we sign Vidal. Might even sign up to troll them

Why are all the supposed Juve fans English anyway?

This... I'm always sceptical about a foreign team's forum being entirely English and of International supporters forums - they don't necessarily represent the true views of the team's supporters.

I didn't follow this one until now. Has there been any reliable reports that we're working on a transfer or is this still all in the gossip columns? I don't want to get all excited for nothing.

What Rudie said. I was kidding with Liverpool bit but problem with English forums of Italian and Spanish clubs is that it lacks local perspective. Most of them are probably kids blabbering on hearsay.
We here have nice blend of local fans as well as outsiders.

Do you guys remember the mini forum war we had with that awful looking Barca forum during the Thiago saga? that was fecking comical.

Bit off topic but how the hell have they so many loanees? have we different laws here or something?

 Yeah. The reactions there were very comical. I don't understand why other clubs fans hate us if their player is linked to us.
I mean we didn't start to hate Juve fans because Pogba went there.

Massively different circumstances in fairness. Pogba was a young, unproven kid.

ummmm, so? If Rooney tomorrow joins PSG, I should hate PSG fans? Because Ronaldo, RvN, Beckham joined Real Madrid, I should hate Real Madrid fans?
wtf has rumours of Vidal to United got to do with redcafe or United fans and hating them?
