Amazes me how a team with so many superstars doesn't implode. How can you keep Ronaldo, Bale, James, Modric, Khedira, Kroos, Alonso and Benzema, plus a few others who I'm sure are dying to play like Illarramendi, Jese Rodriguez and Isco, happy when they're all competing for just, what, 6 places?

No wonder a world class player like Di Maria had to leave.
Ronaldo is the only superstar amongst that lot in terms of profile and attitude. The others are all willing to make sacrifices for the team and work hard.

I really don't want us to go after Carvalho when we have a one way street to get Vidal. Take the risk, he is worth it. Can you not offer Hernandez too?

I am not hating on Carvalho, but I see Vidal being so much better for us. He is WORLD CLASS!:(

We all know this but there is some stumbling block there. We don't know whats the issue behind the scenes. Next best available option? I would rather get Carvalho than Blind or De Jong. Blind for £17-20m and Carvalho for £25m, I know who I want.

The stumbling block is would Ed take the risk of buying a £34m World class player who is/was seriously injured. I seriously Would as if he is fit or getting fit (played 45mins in Ac Milan game), in 2-3 weeks he would be match fit.

Just god damn pay what they are asking for. £40m max looks like it. Throw in a player and the fees drop a bit. They want Hernandez and we don't want him. Just throw him in even if it means £40m+Hernandez.

Herrera Scholesing it, Vidal Keaning it, Mata in front, making up the midfield 3. Di Maria on one wing, Januzaj/Welbeck on the other, Rooney and RVP competing for the striker's position (ideally).

Now that's a team that can compete again

Give them kagwa Hernandez and welbeck if needed

...that happened to win their 10th Champions League title three months ago.

I hate that 'La Decima' shit. They won the first five inaugural European cups, against limited opposition half the time. And right at a time when United's team, which was shaping up to be incredible, was decimated by the Munich air disaster.
It's almost as annoying as Barcelona's "Mes que un club". Feck off (not you, the clubs)

If Vidal and Carvalho sign and I would be polishing the end til it fell off.

I dont see us getting both in one window unless we are planning a massive clearout over the weekend.
I think we briefed the press about Carvalho just to get Juve to cough up Vidal faster.

Wow this WC really fecked us up. Many players getting time off after the WC and not training from the beginning. LVG being pre-occupied with the WC and having not enough time to assess the squad. Vidal wont be in this situation because he would have been at complete rest since May and not played after a month of having surgery.

By 'superstars' I meant top, top players. Many clubs have problems with players wanting to play more, including us in the past.

In many ways, I think Carvalho would be a better long term signing than Vidal. Especially if Sporting have reduced the asking price.

Get a top midfield prospect who could well give us 10 years of service. Also stop Arsenal from getting a good player.

Or... He might not be very good and we'll still need another midfielder.

This seems like one gigantic bluffing game.

We want Vidal at a certain price, Juve want more money. They're using RM's sudden interest to push us higher, we're using Carvalho to push them to accept. Don't think RM are truly interested - Falcao is the last piece of Perez' muppet puzzle for the summer - and my guess is Juve know Vidal leaving is inevitable so might as well try to use their mouthpieces to squeeze a little more out of us.

If Madrid use the Di Maria money to finance a package for Vidal (I don't think they will) we have scored a massive OG!

If Madrid sold Di Maria to finance a move for Vidal, who turns out to be crocked then they will have scored a massive OG. No matter what, we've got a world class player in an area where we need one. Of course, we could do with a fit Vidal as well, no doubt.

If Vidal plays the full game on saturday and performs well, I think you will see us go after him. Then again, you don't expect woody or Juve to make a deal in a day.

It was reported on Twitter he won't be playing due to "personal reasons" not sure how reliable or accurate that is? Maybe he will be signing his contract at OT? Too many unconfirmed rumours flying around. :wenger:
