Arturo Vidal

If Woody was trying to lower the asking price for Vidal, then the Di Maria deal will convince Juventus to add another 10 million to the asking price.

Was watching Sky Sports news earlier and some fans were waiting for Di Maria at Carrington. While the reporter was speaking, some guy came into the background holding a big piece of paper saying "Sign Vidal".

:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

I still expect fans to do that at Old Trafford after the transfer window shuts.

This thread has already broken all records and we've signed Di Maria for a huge fee in between and still there is no clarity either way.

All was dying down and then Van Gaal added more fuel to the muppet fire.

Blind is probably the back-up option if Vidal doesn't happen. I highly doubt we're interested in De Jong.
Blind is very different player and 3classes below vidal we don't need him. If we sign player he should be world class or potential world class or versatile and decent in those positions. With Rojo, we have him, Shaw and James and Young 4 choices at LB/LWB. Blind sucks at LB anyway, players went around him with easy, he i s so fecking slow and cannot beat a man, yes he has a pass in him but he would struggle at that positon in premier league.. he would pass backwards.. as for CM we don't have much options but he is harldy and improvement, and as van Gaal said we are planning to the future that means long-term not short-term. Take it or leave it He is by no means a better player than Cleverley. From what Ive seen he needs incredible amount of time to pass forward and he rather pass backwards we ve seen it also in WC in brazil. He would be probably our 8th best CB and that position we have covered... people talking about his versatilenes but noone gets how awfull or say average he is at those positions. De Jong is not a better footballer but far player suited to play for us with his aggresiveness he could pair herrera and added a little bit of steel. For the sake of balance he is ideal. If you want a versatille footballer capable of playing different roles than we have Lingard, James both will become better footballers than Blind.. we also have far more talented players in academy. if we were for him in the market we should have had him already. van Gaal knows he is not the player on the level of dimaria or prospect as Rojo...

As for Vidal deal, dunno whats going on clearly LVG is interested, if we are waiting because of his knee well we should not be able to sign him never ever again. We have chicharito as a counter deal and have massive gap in our midfield. This clearly should be happening. If we want to go for Strootman than we have no assurance that he won't be the same player after his recent surgery neither.. There may be some other targets but If the level we are looking for is DiMaria and Vidal than we should clearly not be in for Blind. De Jong is other story I think he is very good at his position he plays and would add that balance van Gaals used to talk about...

Way too cheap. We would've already had him if he was only going for that much.

If we get him, this would be the greatest transfer window ever, for any club let alone us
Who would have guessed that we would buy a center back, a left back, a world class winger, and 1, potentially 2 central midfielders? I mean we all knew that is what we needed, but nobody thought there was a hope in hell of getting it done.

It must be concerns over his knee, it has to be that because this guy is top class in a position we desperately need some quality in.
It just doesn't make sense, i mean we even know how highly LVG rates him, its got to be concerns over his knee.

And so it begins.... AGAIN

Hold on to your hats gentlemen. Here can someone confirm did he play the other day? If so for how long and how did he look?
He played for 45 minutes against Milan in the TIM Trophy. Didn't look too bad.

Feck me, we're going to sign him aren't we.

I can feel it Caf, United going South American crazy.

If this does go further it will be the first time I can recall when everyone will collectively shit themselves when he goes for the medical.

I genuinely feel we can pull this off. We need a top midfielder, we've thrown down the gauntlet when it comes to how much we can spend and the manager likes him. If this was last week I'd have said "no chance". But how can you think there is no chance when we just broke the British transfer record on a world class player from Madrid? We obviously have high goals this season.

Doesn't ring true really this, Independent saying we think £34 million is over priced, and that the deal/contract would highly complex, plus the medical would be very intensive, surely time is running thin to get all this sorted, and if at the last the medical failed give us time to get a back up option in, plus wouldn't Juve want time to get someone else in?

Unless it picks up rapid pace in the next few days I would doubt it.

erm...

BTW - I think we could get Vidal for £35 million. Don't give up on this one yet lads.

After paying £60m for Di Maria, Juve would be mental to not jack up the price. He's worth more than Di Maria, and they have less cause to sell.

I get what you're saying but honestly, throughout the whole summer it has seemed like Juventus are the ones who want to get rid of him more than anything. Not sure why exactly, because we know Vidal's quality, but perhaps they need the money.

Also, I don't think he's worth more than Di Maria.
