I'd rather break the bank for vidal than di maria.
We need both .

Going to be interesting this coming week as you think LGV comments today on Vidal were almost a copy of his comments on Di Maria,so you hope there's some interest from us.

Truth is, we need both.

If the Glazers want to protect their investment, their sponsorships, their income streams, they need to invest heavily. Now.

I agree, and i honestly don't care about how much we pay for anyone, but something in me can't believe that we're going to spend a fortune on di maria then spend another 40m on vidal.

De Jong is a huge improvement on what we have now, but if there is a chance at Vidal and now hearing LVG actually name him as a person of interest, why settle for less?

I'm entering muppetry for this week only.

The Glazers are excellent businessmen. They will know that one season outside the CL will be seen by commercial partners as a blip. Two seasons and a trend is forming. They won't risk that.

I honestly think when Vidal played against AC Milan, that was the turning point in Van Gaal's thinking. He clearly sees that The world cup did not further damage his knee as he played really well considering the severity of his injury. Vidal had kept an open door for this exact scenario. LVG and Medical staff are now convinced everything is ok and will set Vidal as the next goal for Woody.

It will be hard to get him, but Hernandez will be used to ease Juventus's stance on not selling Vidal considering we have 7-8 days until the window closes

Expect movements here in the next 2 days, quote me on this.

I think I need to apply as a journalist for Metro, I can link things together and still make better sounding stories(albeit fake) than them.

no doubt in my mind that LVG knew what he was doing mentioning Vidal in his interview. now it could be that he's aware of all the speculation and just trolling the tabloids or it could be a clear message to Vidal to let him know that he wants him.

i'm going to believe the latter even though i feel this is going to be very difficult to push through in time

Do we not think it's a bit odd that LVG name dropped Ronaldo and Di Maria, and now we've signed Di Maria.

He's just mentioned Messi and Vidal.. hmmm stoke the flames.

It's kind of like that happy feeling when you're plastered and pull a 9/10.

Surely we aren't going to spunk another load on him this week? If we did nobody would ever call the glazers tight.

I think he'd be the total dream. Shaw will be good, Rojo may be aswell, Di Maria is epic and Herrera will add something to midfield...but we need a box to box nutter in there. He is the best there is, so if it happened we'd be well on the up again competing by May.

He also named messi as a person of interest, or better as player he wouldn't mind having...Nothing there to suggest this is on in any way imo. In fact naming him with Messi makes it sound like we aren't looking into him actually, as messi is the example of a player you'd want but can't and won't be getting if he uses Vidal as a similar example that sounds more like we can't attract him and won't be attracting him than this is on like donkey kong !

To be honest this

They need at least Champions League football next season......i really think Di Maria + big CM signing will come too

Even the Glazer's can see that our midfield is average

Think we are interested but comments today suggest something's not working out. Whether it was a plea to the player or to the board it can't be looking likely as I'm sure LVG wouldn't just name drop for the sake of it.

I think there's something to it. Either we are going for it or we tried to sign him and failed. There's definitely interest on our part. This last week of the transfer window should be interesting but Vidal, Herrera, Di Maria, Shaw and Rojo would be and amazing window.

Cannot wait for the next 8 days.
I definatley think we will be talking about this transfer window for years to come.

Please please please strengthen the midfield, I'm frigging praying

I'd be amazed if this was to materialise now di Maria appears to be a goer. We're not going to spend over £100 odd million on two players, are we? That would be very much unprecedented, as Woodward promised...

We do definitely need both. Vidal is everything you want from a central midfielder and more and will provide a bulldog, warrior like presence in the heart of the team. Something we've been lacking for years. And Di Maria is everything you want from a winger and more. He will inject pace, trickery, and creativity into the team that we've also lacked out wide since we had Ronaldo. I really hope we get Vidal too. And you never know. It might even happen on deadline day.

I'm going to miss this thread next week, Vidal or not? It's be quiet for a while but now and again we get random craziness like tonight:lol: The night people were watching Chilevision at 3am was hilarious, trying to translate and hoping for a done dealio. This thread:lol:

The way i see it is, spending the money now will mean we will barely need anymore major signings for 2 seasons or so.

Why do people still think this is on? Have I missed something? I don't know what's more incredible, the fact that this thread is still running overtime or the fact that I'm still clicking on it.

For me, we need this man more than anything right now. Another toothless central midfield display today and I've had enough (yes, I know we were without our two best options but even so - that compilation of Cleverley giving the ball away/miscontrolling/destroying our attacking moves on MOTD2 sealed the deal for me).

This evening, the following surfaced from the guy who called the RVP deal before anyone else. Also said a few weeks back Vidal was very much on and would be surprised if it didn't happen. Make of it what you will. He hasn't muppeted on anything else since then or claimed to have any other knowledge - of Fellaini/Mata/Shaw/Herrera/Rojo/di Maria - just seems to post what he hears.

THE WHEELS ARE MOVING.

ALL ABOARD FALSE HOPE TRAIN

But for reals, this is so back on.

With the di Maria deal imminent I have no doubts whatsoever that the club could make this happen too. ArturON.

Because van Gaal mentions Di Maria as one of the best wingers in the world along with Ronaldo in a conference, then bam one week later he gets him.

Fast forward to today, and van Gaal says "I LIKE VIDAL AND MESSI". Now why the feck would he go and say Vidal of all names? It's not because he calls himself the king either. Like a lot of the journalists have said: there is too much smoke for there not to be a fire.

Erm..judging by the time posted, h eread what LVG said about Vidal and put 1+1 together. Move on.

In the wake of the Di Maria thing, suddenly every tweet by even the most remotely reputable source becomes a cause of celebration #transferwindowpsychology

Fair enough, I'm not saying he's right or wrong or it's on or off. But you're supposing and guessing as much with your statement as you claim he is though!
Not really, was it just a coincidence that at 6:15pm this ITK posted that tweet when LVG just done two interviews at 6pm mentioning Vidal?
