Arturo Vidal

This. Some here seem to forget we've underspent for the last 2 to 3 windows prior to this one. It's evident on the pitch. Keep in mind we only bought Fellaini last summer which means most of that budget was unused. So spending circa 200m will just be us catching up on our under spending of the last few windows. It won't happen again at least not any time soon

IMO next summer will be very different, I would expect us to near as dam it break even in the transfer market, if we have a good season though there should be many sale-able assets so maybe we can do a Chelsea and actually get some decent fees.

Ahhh the wife rule, was wondering when this was going to pop its ugly head.

Silly tart will close her pie hole when it becomes apparent he's earning double what he was earning before and she can spend half the year in Dubai. Not to mention that Manchester, especially the rich suburbs, are actually quite beautiful with a lot to do.

I'm a huge fan but his knee is a major concern. Bad and all as our midfield is the last thing we need is Hargreaves mark 2.

FFS love with the money Arturo would be getting here you could build your own tropical enclosure to live in. Shut the trap and buy some shoes and let the man get a massive deal and revitalise our midfield.

Happy wife, happy life.... :nervous:

:(

Pffft, he should just leave her. There'll be plenty of girls available to him on Deansgate at 3am on a Saturday night... Plus, who knows, he might like the vomit-in-hair look.

I would move to Siberia if it meant my partner was getting paid £200,000 a week!

I am actually very happy we are getting Di Maria and not him as our marquee signing. We need someone who can move forward and make things happen, we barely create anything. Someone better than Fletcher and Cleverley, even someone like Blind will suffice as Herrera's partner.

Turin is actually colder than Manchester in winter, from October to April the climate of the two cities isn't a great deal different, it's just a few degrees warmer on average in Turin. The only time where Turin is warm and sunny is June to August and the season isn't even on then, players are normally on their holidays where they could be anywhere in the world or in Asia or America on club tours.

Zidane's wife not liking Turin was allegedly a big reason why he left Juventus for Real. I remember that she wanted to live by the sea.. so they moved to err.. Madrid.

If Vidal signed, he'd end up with our Spanish contingent anyways. No need for a mrs.

Getting Vidal now and Strootman in January would be a dream come true. Perfect midfield pairing to both break up attacks and assist our attacking play.

If this is true why hasn't Vidal come out and denied the rumours?

That is what gives this whole saga hope. He could easily do a Fabregas and say he is staying, but instead he is constantly saying he doesn't know, and the top dogs are insisting he is happy instead. This can easily go down to deadline day.

I think we spent too much on Herrera to bench him even though I do agree some depth is needed.
Look at Real Madrid, they have Alonso, Khedira, Illaramendi, Kroos and Modric and they manage to give plenty of game-time to all 5 of them. All of those players would walk into our midfield.

Modric 51 appearances, Alonso 42, Khedira 18 - injured for most part of season, Illarra 49.

It's not really benching. One game you play Strootman and Herrera, the next you play Herrera and Vidal, the next you play Vidal and Strootman and so forth.

Rotate between the 3 of them, you can't have only 2 good players and then when one of them gets injured you end up with Cleverley.

Indeed...you could also play all 3 on occasion when it's required to win the midfield battle.

That's true. With no European football this season we don't need quiet as much depth as them but hopefully that will be need next year.

Didn't realise Illaramendi played that much last season. I assume most of them were substitute appearances.

If we can't win a game with a midfield of Herrera Vidal and Di Maria we may aswell stop now

Exactly! Turin is really industrial and quite bad.

The city centre is nice though and you're not far from the Alps which are, perhaps, probably the most beautiful part of the world.

There's literally feck all to do in Alderley Edge (or Manchester really, for that matter) too.

What has LvG done? Woody is now probably preparing a 40 mil £ + add-on bid for Messi!

Ogden claiming Vidal is a target with De Jong as the back-up target. He's kind of been on the fence so far, hasn't he?

Surely Ed won't spend 100m in a week?

In all seriousness, what's the view? Does anyone really think we're going to go all out for this in the last week of the window?

Surely a more cheaper signing like Blind or De Jong is more likely now, given the outlay on Di Maria.
