Arturo Vidal

Yep, according to Agent_ITK, we're bidding £180m for Ronaldo and Aguero. We are looking to sell Anderson to Olympiakos for £2.2m, a basket of muffins and a tub of hair gel. However, we are also in for a surprise bid to sign Emile Heskey from Newcastle Jets and Freddie Flintoff from Cricket, both which will require £35m each to an overseas swiss bank account, a deluxe suite in The Palace Hotel for the Sheik Mansour, a five year loan deal for Ronaldo and Aguero to Barcelona without the option to recall and a complimentary massage from Ed Studward.

It's a rather convoluted deal.

Can you imagine Herrera and Vidal at the heart of our midfield. Pleeeeeeaaaase. lol. I will honestly be amazed if it happens but the prospect of playing under Van Gaal could be more of a factor than we think.

-------Vidal--Herrera------------
----------Mata-----------------

12 months ago this would have seemed unthinkable. Now, well still fairly unthinkable. We'll never get him...will we?

I think both Herrera and Vidal's best qualities are when attacking, and for that reason, especially in the big games, I think we could do with a deeper midfielder giving them the freedom to go forward.

indykalia is such a wanker, has he ever predicted any signing at all? He's a bullshitter though and through.
When he fecks up he deletes his tweets. He's such a fecking spoofer, why would a college student with no journalistic degrees have this knowledge? When people call him out on it he claims racism.

Yeah exactly, he's so full of shit. And does he really claim racism? What a fecking loser

This seems to be the tiny elephant in the room everyone is ignoring.

I think he's from a Pakistani family living in Manchester. I've definitely seen him use it multiple times. Sadly for Kaila, bullshitters exist across all races.

Against the smaller teams I think we would score for fun with that team though.

it's probably not worth even thinking the damage we could cause with a top manager, laying us out in an attacking fashion, with the likes of Vidal and Sanchez.
it'd be rude manners.

Seriously, oh my god! The muppet in me is eating me alive, he is literally the first player that I would sign for our midfield given the opportunity.
I'm expecting the heartbreak though :(

I've said before that it's a waste of Vidal's ability to confine him to a restrictive, holding role (he could do it though). You want to give Vidal the freedom to press high up the pitch and break forward offensively. Partnered with Herrera in a 4-3-3 it definitely lacks some balance and IMO you won't see the best of Vidal.

Those two in a 3-5-2 however would be fantastic.

A question for the regular Serie A watchers.

Q: Does Pogba and Vidal play in a midfield 3 with Pirlo at Juventus? or do they play regularly as a 2-man midfield when Pirlo is being rested?

For Chile it was hard to see where Vidal was actually playing because he had licence to play wherever he wanted too.

I know he would be an incredible signing but I somehow have this feeling that if we do sign him, he will turn into a massive flop.

Guys we are waiting for the day Barca confirm Suarez to announce our Vidal deal. To really compound Pool misery, again. Confirmed.

Signing Vidal would represent our biggest signing for since Robson. I cant remember us signing a high profiled player that could comfortably walk into any club side in the world......

From Miguel Delaney, who's always been pretty reliable.

Juventus have told Manchester United that they will need to bid over 45 million pounds if the Premier League side are to sign Arturo Vidal, sources have told ESPN FC.

The Chile midfielder has had an impressive World Cup despite a lack of fitness, but has been a United target for far longer. The English club first began to properly enquire about the 27-year-old in January.

Sources state United have picked up their interest in the player over the past few weeks, and Vidal himself is understood to be open to the idea. Arsenal are also seen to be in the running.

Juventus, however, remain unwilling to sell their star player, while any negotiations are likely to be complicated as it will take an offer of over 45 million pounds to even make the Italian side consider the possibility.

Vidal would represent a huge coup for United, given that he would be both the "marquee name" that the hierarchy crave, but also see a key position filled.

The Red Devils are intent on a significant statement this summer, and are ready to spend over 150 million pounds.

Around 60 million pounds has already been paid out on Luke Shaw and Ander Herrera, but manager Louis van Gaal is keen to bring in at least one midfielder and one centre-half.

It is expected that a deal for Thomas Vermaelen will be struck with Arsenal in the next few weeks, although both a fee and a medical have to be finalised, with the Belgium centre-half recently struggling with injury.

As he seeks to strengthen his United backline, Van Gaal wants a defender with Premier League experience but also mobility -- and the club are still expected to pursue their interest in Borussia Dortmund's Mats Hummels.

Van Gaal would also like to bring in his Netherlands midfielder Nigel de Jong, and there remains tentative interest in Bayern Munich's Bastian Schweinsteiger.

Sources also state that Javier Hernandez will be allowed to leave the club, providing a suitable offer comes in. The Mexican has seen his playing opportunities increasingly limited.

Juan Sebastian Verón. He was arguably the best central midfielder in the world when we got him.

Edit: My bad.

Worth it at £45m. I wonder if Juve are still interested in Nani, we could include him the deal.

:lol::lol: Well done

He's the best and most complete CM in world football, but any more than £45m would be a bit crazy in reality. It's not my money though so I don't care if we offer £80m.

I think this is why there remains interest in the likes of Strootman and De Jong. They can anchor allowing the other two a bit more freedom. Not sure how that would affect Mata but it would make for some additional rotational options.

Delaney is one of the very few journalists I find reliable. If he's reporting it then I'm sure there's something in it.

Better than Yaya?

Crazy that Juve have got two of the best few CMs in the world right now.

now now now...

Manchester United have long been linked with a move for Juventus’ Arturo Vidal and thanks to his impressive performance at the World Cup, the links have continued to get stronger.

It has been reported United would be willing to pay Vidal £230,000 a week if he joined and today, Italian newspaper Tuttosport‘s front page splash suggests if Vidal were to leave Juventus this summer, he would prefer a move to United over Real Madrid.

Tuttosport say that United have had direct and indirect contact with Vidal’s representatives about a move but that no official offer has yet been submitted by either United or Madrid.

While Juventus are in no rush to sell, Tuttosport believe an offer of €60m would be enough to sign him as it would give Juventus enough funds to make two substantial signings to replace Vidal.

Why would Vidal prefer a move to United over Madrid? One of two things, or both – money and status. At United, he’d become one of our top earners but that isn’t to say that wouldn’t be the case in Madrid given how substantial their budgets are, let alone when you add the near £50m they received for winning the Champions League.

However, status is where United could trump Madrid because the scenarios would be very different. In Madrid, Vidal would walk into a pressure pot where nothing but the absolute best is expected from the first minute of his Madrid career. The highs would be great but the lows would be swallowing and he’d be just another superstar in a team bursting at the seams with them.

At United, that wouldn’t be the case. He’d come straight away and be seen as a midfield demi-god. Expectations of his performances would immediately be there given what he would cost but he’d be afforded time by both the club and fans to adapt and grow, a luxury he wouldn’t be given in Madrid.

That being said, Vidal loves Juventus and even has tattoos on his arms in commemoration of their Scudetto wins, so it would take a substantial offer to pry him away from Turin.

The situation all depends on how deep United’s pockets are. If United were to go forward with a club record bid of €60m, Juventus are more than likely going to sell because it would be an offer that is too good to turn down but whether United are willing to spend that much on a 27-year-old remains to be seen.
