Arturo Vidal

Absolutely. But signings like Vidal would recast as 'panic buys' by the media as well. Rather than looking like the club making a 'statement', a concept much beloved by muppets, it would look like desperation.

It's just not worth thinking about. So let's just hope the match goes ok. Late signings will be whatever they will be.
Agreed.

That's not the deal though. It's a hypothetical where the Muppets are guaranteed Vidal if we lose!

You'd be mental to think a loss today could somehow be good for the club. Nobody thinks that, right?
But the whole hypothetical would be that the positive of signing Vidal would outweigh the negative of losing our first game of the new era, at home to Swansea.
I profoundly disagree. Vidal is one player, a good one for sure, but who has been probably been vastly overrated on this thread. Meanwhile we have a whole squad of players whose new confidence would be shattered by such a loss.

I agree apart from the Vidal thread. If you think WE overrate him ask Juvenuts fans what they think of him.

Well, yeah, I picked the wrong thread to imply that. My only point was that I don't think his talent alone would outweigh the shattering of the confidence of 20 players already here.

The confidence wouldn't be shattered after 1 defeat. That's a bit OTT to say the least.

After last season it would. We are hugely dependent on a dozen players upping their performance levels and confidence from last season. Can't afford them to think that this isn't a fresh start.

Fair enough, but I don't see it that way. The players believe in LVG, clearly, and he's been there and done it. Our future is not going to be massively affected by one defeat here or there, which will inevitably come at some point.

We are re-building and it's all of the many decisions from LVG, as well as the hard work from the players, that will be fundamental to our success and not short-term results.

Well, we are on the way to finding out what will happen unfortunately. I hope that changes...

£40m + Hernandez + Nani. Just fecking give it to them. There is absolutely no way we're going anywhere near top 4 without this guy. Not even if the top player from every other team quits football to become a monk. We're shite and we need non-shite players.

This transfer has to happen. No excuses. Herrera will be climbing a mountain all by himself this season if a new CM isn't brought in. Fletcher isn't good enough anymore, and Carrick/Cleverly/Fellaini offer nothing.

Pay Juve whatever the feck they want.

He'd transform us from average to a top team again. Well, of course he would...the best CM in the World. Pay whatever. £60m whatever.

The word project has worked against us countless times over the years. Now let's hope it helps.

I'd love Vidal but I do think a cb and a winger/wingback are arguably more important right now. Our midfield won't be particularly good without someone like him but it can be functional imo if we address defence/wingback issues which makes them the priority personally.

Vidal had multiple occasion to say that he's staying at Juventus but he keeps declining to do so each time he's asked about it. Please Woodward make it happen. :(

I still think midfield should be priority. With someone better than Fletcher in there Jones, Blackett and Smalling wouldn't have had half as much to do.

Disagree, I think it's the other way round, better ball playing defenders would create space for Herrera/Fletch imo.

It's time for Gaalfather to send Woody Hagen to Allegri with an offer he can't refuse.

Of course it should be priority. It was a priority from 2008 on and we just didnt do anything about it.
CB and a winger should be the next on the list without a doubt.

Vidal, DI Maria, Rojo and Blind would be the perfect scenario. Watch us only signing Blind.

Arturo Vidal despite being able to play against the Singapore team, was not considered and closing his signing is imminent

carlosevolcan he's already decided to leave Manchester United and it has been made known to your representative. Greetings

Vidal is not the answer, unless we drop Herrera. If we play both Vidal and Herrera, I guarentee that we will see much more goals conceded from positional mistake like the one below.
