Vidal seems like such an asshole. Not sure I even want him here anymore. He's brilliant, but not Messi/Ronaldo/Bale standard by any means. Not sure the attitude is warranted. He'll probably go to Bayern now anyway.

Why is he such an asshole?

The way he keeps giving these ambiguous answers with tongue in cheek when asked about whether he'd leave and calling your manager "mister"? What a disrespectful thing to say. Assuming these quotes aren't fabricated he comes across as a right tit.

He has to be careful. If he starts agitating for a move and it doesn't come off he will have alienated himself from the Juve fans, not a good idea. The fact that he's not committing himself to Juve is enough to say that there is something going on behind the scenes. Whether we can pull it off with these buffoons (Glazers) running the club is debatable.

I think its clear that Vidal wants to join. I think all the stuttering is on our end and if we want to pay the money to get him.

Seriously? Do you think Vidal and Allegri were speaking to each other in English? "Mister" in English translates to "Senor" in Spanish or "signore" in Italian, which are absolutely terms of respect (the equivalent of saying "sir").

As for ambiguous comments, people want him to come out to the media and say, "Get me the feck out of Juve and to Manchester United NOW!" A deal isn't done, and he may end up at Juve or he may end up at United or somewhere else. It would be stupid of him to give anything but ambiguous answers.

Really seems you're reaching to talk yourself out of wanting him.

Did I read somewhere that Vidal is a bit shy too ask for a transfer as he doesn't want to upset anyone? I guess the fans love him & he feels he owes it too them not to force a move.

Doesn't stop his agent doing Vidal's dirty work and taking the blame for forcing it through though. Also, if he want's to come and Juve are prepared to sell, the figures being bandied about are reasonable, why haven't we bid for him?

Obviously they don't speak to each other in English, but I'd assume there's an Italian equivalent to "mister" that's disrespectful also. If not, then clearly it's been translated that way to further the speculation, which would come under the "assuming the're not fabricated" category.

While he's at Juve, he should either keep quiet or he should just say he's happy at Juventus. Your response is ridiculous, obviously I meant it was disrespectful to Juventus because he's discussing the transfer. How exactly would saying "Get me the feck out of Juve and to Manchester United NOW!" be respectful to Juventus?

For the language enthusiasts.

Spanish players refer to the manager as, "mister." Literally that, as in the English word. It's used to mean "boss". I don't speak Italian, let alone football Italian, however I'm pretty sure it means the same thing there. You often hear Spanish players saying things like, "the mister told us to keep it tight until halftime," etc - the whole sentence in Spanish except for "mister."

Meanwhile drawing conclusions on somebody's attitude from a part-translated twitter one-liner is futile.

Fair enough on the first point. Probably a poor translation to use "mister".

As for the second point, I thought your comment about being disrespectful was about the "mister" part, not the ambiguous comments, so I wasn't even thinking that you were saying that the ambiguous comments were disrespectful. But I still don't see any problem with what he's said, and frankly he's gone about it quite well. He has been quoted on multiple occasions this summer as saying he's happy at Juventus. He usually follows that with a "but we'll see what happens", which brings the ambiguity, but he doesn't want to alienate either club by saying something definitive. The media put him on the spot with questions, so he can't just keep quiet.

Fair enough, that's my mistake. But, I still think he's talking about the potential transfer too much (without stating it outright). He should really just stay quiet and refuse to answer questions on a potential move. I'm pretty sure RVP didn't act like that when linked to us. He refused to talk about it as far as I remember.

Why would Juve be interested in making this transfer? Vidal is one of the best midfielders in the world, he is under contract until 2017 and they are about to embark on a campaign to try to win the champions league.

How much have they spent on transfers in the close season? Do they need the money?

Well if reports are to be believed, then yes they do need the money.

Overreaction. Hard to call something disrespectful which has been translated.

This.

Seems Vidal wants a move but the question is if United want him..
It sounds like it! United must have been in touch with him if he keeps refusing to put the rumours to bed! Surely he'd take the hint that we're not interested if we haven't got in touch yet!

That's the big question. Juventus obviously are willing to sell because Conte left knowing that either Vidal or Pogba were going to be sold to balance their books.

So if Juventus managed to keep hold of Vidal come September, would Conte have left in vain?

Not convinced Conte left because of that, unless I've missed something. Probably left because of the Italy job.
I think it was more to do with the Juve board not doing enough to get Sanchez. He left shortly after he went to Arsenal, giving some dodgy excuse about him being exhausted and out of energy. Yet he made the decision 2 days before their pre-season started.

If they couldn't afford to compete with Arsenal over Sanchez, I think Allegri could do a lot with the Vidal money. I mean I'm sure they would still prefer to keep him, but at some point an offer will be high enough that it will benefit their overall squad to take it.

Question is; will we have the balls to bid the sort of money it takes to get a top draw talent like Vidal? History suggests otherwise.

I'm not so sure. History shows Woody panicked with Fellaini when he was running out of time and threw whatever money it took at the problem to solve it. I can see the same happening if this comes down to the wire and he hasn't signed anyone since Shaw and Herrera.
