Juventus CRUSH Man Utd's hopes of signing £40m Arturo Vidal
JUVENTUS boss Massimo Allegri claims that Manchester United target Arturo Vidal will not be leaving the club this summer.

The Red Devils are desperate to land the Chile international, with reports claiming that United have offered £40million plus Javier Hernandez and Nani.

Louis Van Gaal has only signed two players since taking the reigns at Old Trafford, splashing the cash on Southampton's Luke Shaw and Athletic Bilbao's Ander Herrera.

With the futures of midfielders Anderson and Marouane Fellaini looking uncertain, the Dutchman is keen to bring in a big-name signing to boost morale, and believes Vidal is the man to lead his side's charge towards the Premier League title.

Bundesliga Champions Bayern Munich are also keen on bringing former Bayer Leverkusen man Vidal back to Germany, although the 27-year-old is said to have his heart set on a move to England.

Vidal himself added fuel to the fire after being pictured signing United shirts in Australia after it was claimed that Juventus had set a deadline for the transfer to be completed by.

However, new boss Allegri has moved to quash reports that Vidal is set to join United, telling reporters during a press conference at Juventus' training camp in Singapore: "Vidal? He's not going anywhere."
What's the source of that?

Only the 50th time Allegri responds to it, it's getting ridiculous now. He said the same thing about Ibra and Silva a week before they left. Not that I think Vidal is coming but Allegri is an idiot.

If Vidal was so eager to stay he would have already come out and said something, even a small stupid message on Twitter would have done the job. He is leaving his options open I believe, whether we are willing to spend the money is another issue. Woodward has disappointed me once again this transfer window and it's not looking like he is going to change a whole lot in 2 weeks. Van Gaal will have to pull a big rabbit out of his hat to win any trophies with our squad this season, top 4 will be a challenge to say the least. Hopefully some youngsters will step up and the likes of Wilson and Januzaj will continue to develop.

Aye. Meaningless words from Allegri, but curious if the quotes are even accurate at all. Still, as long as Vidal stays quiet this is on.

Shocker, Juve say he's not for sale.

Tomorrow they'll qualify it with "Unless a great offer comes in" and we go again.

I remember 2 years ago. It was summer and there was some talk about RVP joining us. I didnt believe one bit it would happen. Then I went on a vacation for 2, 3 weeks and didnt read, hear or watch anything about football (and it felt great actually to rest from all that football during the year). The same day I came back I saw news about us agreeing a deal for RVP.
Tomorrow I'm going to the coast for 2 days, if only I would see news about Vidal coming on sunday when I'll be back, just like in RVP story..

Man can hope.. :)

Played as a CB for Bayern so I doubt they are interested.
Yeah, that's bullshit. Clubs don't tend to sign players simply because of an injury to one of their players (unless it's a very serious one). The idea of Bayern splashing out £40-50m to replace a player who's injured for a few months is ludicrous.

Hope it is rubbish, to be honest. I'd be so pissed if they were to show interest and get him straight away. Wouldn't be the first time it's happened to us. Plus Bayern are yet to replace Toni Kroos.

He'd be a pretty poor replacement for Martinez at any rate. One being a player who rarely goes beyond the half way line, the other being a midfielder who's most effective around the opposition's box and at pressing in the opponents half.

Telling Vidal to sit in front of a back four would ruin him.

On the other hand, he'd be the best possible replacement for Kroos. :/

Wonder why Delaney is the only reputable English source coming out with all of this info on Vidal and no one else is (Ogden, Ducker, etc.).

Regardless, it all sounds legitimate for why the deal hasn't gone through yet.

Vidal to Bayern is the most obvious made up rumor of this transfer window. Whoever has put out the story has just done it to generate revenue through clicks.

That one guy for Sky also said it, so he's not alone.

From the reliable Oliver Kay of the Times

Do you follow everyone on twitter Adnan ? Eugene Wong and Louis van Chia... We hardly knew ye.. :D

I stay in Singapore and am considering renting a black van with duct tape and a bodybag. Am I missing anything?

lol

I stay near the new stadium and would be willing to assist you in any way possible.

So would Bayern swoop in for Vidal? I know that they are not like for like players but if they feel that they have a midfield shortage why not go for Vidal when it seems like its possible to get him? I know that they had issues with him not signing for them in the past but doesnt mean that they could go for him.

Its just wild speculation on my part but I believe that if they did want him Bayern would've had it done swiftly like how its supposed to be for a big club most of the time.

€45m is £36m + maybe £20m for the players - that's not a bad base for United to negotiate from. £30m + the players perhaps?

Before anyone says only United would touch a deal like this, it's very like the Eto'o + cash deal that Barca did for Zlatan. Lets hope the net result is better.
30 million plus players I would go with.. But its the world we live in I suppose.. A world where Gareth Bale is more expensive than CR7....
I just think that 70 mill is too much considering the worries about his knee

I doubt it. Bayern are too sensible for that. They wouldn't panic and make a long term signing for a temporary problem. If it was Madrid on the other hand...
