Arturo Vidal

Well, historically speaking, August 15 is V-J Day. V-J. Vidal-Juventus. Coincidence? And while some may take that to mean Vidal going to Juventus, remember that in the historical use of the term, the "J" is the loser (Japan....as in Victory over Japan Day, for those not overly familiar with WWII).

Thus the new V-J Day will be Vidal over Juventus or Victory over Juventus.

It's ON, and it's happening this FRIDAY.

Edit: It could also be tomorrow, August 14, as both days are sometimes considered V-J day (it was August 15 in Japan when surrender was announced, but still August 14 in the US and Europe). With Juve over in Australia, this timeline fits even more.
Muppetry at its best, the Vidal saga has now taken a new twist which involves Japan and WW2:lol:

There is also frustration over the Arturo Vidal saga, although it is understood Juventus have proven difficult to even discuss terms with due to the ructions caused at the Italian club by the departure of Antonio Conte. United remain interested in Vidal.

He goes on to say:
United are also prepared to go back to Sporting and renew interest in William Carvalho if they fail to bring in Vidal, although they may yet face competition from Arsenal. Van Gaal remains a huge admirer of Kevin Strootman too.
That's the first time I've heard Carvalho mentioned in a while! Not convinced there Miguel

Javier Hernandez swap deal to bring Arturo Vidal to Manchester United will be revealed 'soon', says Chicharito's agent
  • Javier Hernandez is widely expected to leave Manchester United
  • Louis van Gaal is a known admirer of Juventus midfielder Arturo Vidal
  • Mexican striker's agent expects news of a proposed swap deal 'soon'

Javier Hernandez's agent says there will be news 'soon' amid reports linking the striker with Juventus in a swap deal for Arturo Vidal.

Speculation over Vidal's future at Juventus had gone quiet after the club announced he was not for sale and he signalled his desire to stay in Turin.

But some bookmakers have now suspended betting after reports surfaced suggesting Juve remain interested in a deal with Manchester United worth 45 million euros and two players, one of them Hernandez.

When asked about the future of the Mexican striker at Manchester United and a potential swap deal with Juventus, the player's agent Eduardo Hernandez was cautious but promised developments soon.

'For now I cannot comment on the situation,' he told reporters in South America.

'I have no news at the moment on an exchange, I haven't spoken to anyone in England, but there will be news soon.'

United have maintained that they have not opened talks for Vidal although know they can do a deal for the Chile international should they wish to with Juventus eager to sell.

Reports out of Chile also suggested that United had concerns about his knee injury history, having undergone an operation in May to be fit for the World Cup.

It is a fcuking disgrace the amount of money the club makes and the amount of patience the fans have. It looks to me like the most of the crazy money made by the club is being syphoned off. The so called war chest of 200 million that we have every transfer window is not being used and we are all being taken for a major walk. I bet we will have the same 200 million transfer warchest in January and also next summer. In my opinion the worst thing that ever happened to United was the takeover by the Glazers. Fair enough they have increased the profits that the club makes a great deal. But they pocket the profits. So it is of little benefit to the club , they are using the club as a milk cow. I just hope we can keep LVG as he is a major upgrade for us. We need to back this manager to the limit.

Same noise being made every summer to try sell season tickets. Pathetic.

Not to worry guys we will have a 200 million warchest again next summer.

Maybe the lie will go up next year though, we'll have an imaginary £250 million warchest.

Or we literally have a £200 million warchest. It's an antique, Glazers bought it from some of the money they've taken out of the club over the last 10 years.

Bookies SUSPEND betting on Arturo Vidal joining Man Utd as Chilean edges closer to move

BOOKMAKERS have stopped taking bets on Juventus star Arturo Vidal joining Manchester United this summer as the Chilean edges closer to an Old Trafford switch.

United chief Van Gaal has made Vidal his No.1 transfer target this summer.

The Dutchman wants to build his new-look team around the 27-year-old midfielder, who has starred for club and country in recent seasons.

A move for the player has been mooted for months, and a deal now looks almost certain to go through, with most bookies suspending betting on a move, or offering odds as short as 1/10.

Vidal is likely to cost United around £40m, which would make him the club's all-time record transfer, surpassing the £37m they paid Chelsea for Juan Mata earlier this year.

The club's spending is unlikely to end with Vidal's arrival.

A whopping £80m treble transfer deal is thought to be on the cards, which will see Real Madrid ace Angel Di Maria, Sporting Lisbon's Marcos Rojo and Ajax defender Daley Blind all move to Old Trafford.

Van Gaal has already splashed out £27m on England youngster Luke Shaw and £29m on Spanish star Ander Herrera as he bids to revitalise United after their dismal 2013-14 campaign under David Moyes.

I'm surprised the odds of him joining us are still so low. 1/10 on Skybet. I mean who in their right mind would take those odds?

Amigos, Vidal is worth the inconvenience of not having him run out onto the pitch for the opening match of the season. Short of evidence that his knee is shot, he would be a MASSIVE -- perhaps even EPIC -- upgrade over our next best central midfielder (at least on paper, anyway) -- Marouane Fellaini.

Think about this for a moment: Our current options behind Herrera in central midfield are Fellaini, Fletcher, Cleverley and Carrick. Looking at those names doesn't me a lot of confidence of a fourth place finish, let alone a prem trophy.

Let us be patient.

If that was the case, they'd surely have it as a quadruple scoop, in a £120million blah blah blah
I just hate pretend journos!

Not sure, just this bit has them separately.

Never thought I'd say it, but I've grown tired of the Vidal talk. Same shit has been recycled around for weeks now.

Vidal day was a let down, Vidal week was a non-event.

I need something to rejuvenate the muppet inside me :(

Blind, Rojo sound like the typical, unexciting and unambitious targets we get.

Not to knock those players - they would probably be good additions but we need some top-shelf, ready made quality signings also.

And how do you know its not LVG that hasn't been picking the players and therefore not sanctioning moves like this one to please you?. Since Woodward has been in charge, we have spent about 130m. Thats one year. Remind me again of a period we spent that much before the Glaziers?

Think logically my friend, not with passion.

Same noise being made every summer to try sell season tickets. Pathetic.

Season tickets were sold out in record time for this season. By the time Woodward gave that interview in America, it had been 2 weeks or so since the season tickets were sold out. So in short, no, you are wrong. They didnt have to make no noise about a warchest to sell tickets.

This from an account which claims to be Alexis Sanchez official fans. What ever the hell that means.

Again posts about fe.king warchest, who from the club mentioned 200 million warchest?
People believe every BS media writes and then blame the club when it turns out to be bollocks.

And Glazers using club as a milk cow and strategy for selling season tickets. Same nonsense being repeated again and again.
