I can understand that, but we would still be massively undervaluing Hernandez and Fellaini in that deal. As a Club it frustrates the Hell out of me how we never get a good deal when selling players, a year ago we could have got £20+ million for Hernandez, add that to the £10 million loss on Fellaini then we are still overpaying, we could and should be getting him or alot less.
Since when are Fellaini and Hernandez worth 27m pounds in todays market? 10m for Hernandez, ok but who is going to pay 17m pounds for Fellaini? So roughly £49 + 10 + 17 = £76 million (give or take) for Vidal. You Sir should be running our transfer dealings, that sounds like a bargain
Sure they are. But the thing is that they have all been told by the club that we aren't in for Vidal. This is different from telling them who we actually are after. As far as I'm concerned there are no reliable journos connected with United this year. They're all feeding of scraps
Yea well lets hope someone pops that particular question to him soon, then. There's a difference between a media person at the club briefing behind closed doors and our manager being put on the spot during a televised presser...
Yep, at the time it looked like a good deal for Ronaldo, in hindsight, I suppose you could argue that it wasn’t that great.I agree with that! Probably the only really good sales we've had was Veron to Chelsea and Ronaldo to Real (and even that one turned out to be a bargain for Real..)
Not really I still have a bit of hope that Vidal will join.Isn't that what you want? Being thread-banned would be every bit as brilliant for you as the thread being closed!
Of course he’s worth £17m, in fact I’d imagine that is slightly undervaluing him, like him or not, during his time at Everton he was a very good player.Since when are Fellaini and Hernandez worth 27m pounds in todays market? 10m for Hernandez, ok but who is going to pay 17m pounds for Fellaini?
Because of the second part of my post - LVG has already said that he won't talk about specific targetsI don't think it'd be a waste of a question - it's the biggest United-related story of the summer. They papers have filled loads of column inches with conjecture - why don't they ask a question and try and add some substance?
Carroll went to Pool for 35m.Of course he’s worth £17m, in fact I’d imagine that is slightly undervaluing him, like him or not, during his time at Everton he was a very good player.

There is no way we will get £17m for Fellaini - we would be lucky to give him away for nothing at this point, given his wages. More likely is a face-saving loan deal with United subsidising his wages whilst Fellaini gets the opportunity to re-prove himself.Of course he’s worth £17m, in fact I’d imagine that is slightly undervaluing him, like him or not, during his time at Everton he was a very good player.

Unless I'm not looking at the right papers I have seen far more media speculation linking us to Hummels and di Maria than Vidal
Twitter is Vidal territory

Two years later he want to WHU for a third of that. I'd imagine Fellaini is worth 10m max.
He's not a first teamer for us, had a poor season in which he failed to live up to expectations and is surplus to requirements with LvG looking to offload. That will drive his price way down.

Decent? excluding his cameo against Algeria he was woeful. You forget he had a decent world cup
Although unlikely, a swap deal would actually be a good solution for us. We could say that Fellaini is being valued at £15m or whatever, which both helps us save face on the Fellaini deal and make it look like we are paying a bit less net for Vidal. In reality, both sides would know that Fellaini was just being thrown in as a sweetener.£10m? Come on now, be a bit realistic, there would be a queue around the block if we were offering Fellaini for £10m.
Do we really think we will take a £17m loss on him after one season, for which he was injured during large parts. Yes we are going to make a big loss, but he’s still a quality player. Unfortunately it looks like he’s not going to make it here, that doesn’t mean he’s shit though.
Granted he didn’t have a great season, but who did? This is what I meant earlier when I said we are undervaluing our players, we have a History of letting players go cheap, and it has to stop.
My point is, IF we are going to do a swap + cash deal (unlikely I know) then we shouldn't just bend over and just accept what Juve think he’s worth.
Edit: Vermaelen has just been sold for £15
You forget he had a decent world cup
what world cup did you watch??
Agreed, Fellaini, Hernandez and £15-£16m would be a good deal for both sides IMO.Although unlikely, a swap deal would actually be a good solution for us. Does Vidal's Agent not have any other clients then?Reporting in the Corriere Dello Sport today that Vidal must be going as his agent is in England. Basically saying he wouldn't be in England 3 days before the Ferragosto (15th Aug) deadline Juve imposed unless it was to negotiate a deal.

Is decent the new average?Decent? excluding his cameo against Algeria he was woeful.
As a footballer he looked so out of place the majority of that world cup. Juve would never want him even if we offered him for free.Is decent the new average?
I pretty much doubt Juve will be in for him. He's the player they don't need. Hernandez, Nani - yes. But Fellaini...
Juventus would feel robbed with just £15m and those two players for Vidal, would Fellaini or Hernandez even get into the Juve starting 11? Probably not.
I reckon it'll come out eventually that we had a good look at him, couldn't or didn't want to do a deal and everything from that point was Juve and Vidal trying to engineer interest/a move.Anyone think we're actually interested in signing him? People can't stop talking about it but there's no actual evidence from the club that we want to sign him. I feel like we're talking this up in our heads.
Not really, you need a deal that the two Clubs are happy with, if they want Fellaini and Hernandez as well as a realistic amount of millions, then I can see both Clubs thinking they got the best deal.Agreed. Somehow you need the big number to justify the sale, not just two perceived surplus squad players.
He has already engineering deals for half his other clients this summer! At least Sanchez, Medel and Isla have already moved that I'm aware of. He's a busy guy.Does Vidal's Agent not have any other clients then?
So much coming out of Italy on United interest, but literally nothing reported by the English press (not counting Star & Express).
