Perfect signing for him if they had not already spent the £49 million they were allowed under FFP. Sure they've sold and due to sell a few but they won't recoup the money needed for them to comply with FFP if they buy Vidal.
So far sold Rodwell for 10m, Garcia is on his way out at 12m getting close to their Mangala fee there, for what it's worth I don't think he'll go City at all.

He is 27, Juventus are clearly not capable of paying the big wages some of the PL and la liga clubs are dishing out to even the likes of Young, an ambitious young manager has just left the club because he felt they did not match his thirst for glory and the Serie A isn't what it was as a football league...

So yeah, this is one of his last chances to build a career in a better and more populat league and get paid like the quality player he is.

He wants to leave, but does he want United or do we want him?

IMO the answer is yes to both, we can pay him what he wants no problem, and he'll get way more exposure at United to help his brand (if he has one), for us he fixes a major hole in our team, and proves we can still attract the best players.

Must either be Juve holding out on keeping him, his knee, or the fee Juve want been too much right now, all I know is time is running out and I hope we have something else up our sleeve if this doesn't happen.

Ill get pelters for this but it would seem his knee is indeed the finals straw in this

Edit that, its Mangala.

Been travelling the last week or two so I'm out of the loop, is it still safe to assume we're not signing him?

Juventus are playing right now but Vidal is not even on the bench. Is he still not fit or is he stalling?
I don't think we can read anything into whether he plays on tour or not.

If he does play, he could simply be fit again, but would undoubtedly be spun that LvG wants to see how his fitness looks before giving the go ahead on a transfer.

If he doesn't play, it's most likely because he's not fit, but could be spun off that he's stalling or refusing to play to force a transfer. The papers will probably say Allegri is refusing to play him so United have no idea how fit he is, so we don't know whether to take the risk of signing him or not.

Come on, players will sign pretty much anything a fan sticks in front of them, probably wouldn't have had a clue what it was.

Yeah I thought that too but he signs it directly under the badge.

Yea but I bet almost any footballer would sign whatever shirt was put in front of them unless it was the shirt of a close rival perhaps. I don't think anything can be read into Vidal just doing what a reasonable human being would do and sign a shirt for a fan

Hahaha well....he also refused to sign a City shirt. How do I embed pictures?

Am I the only one who thinks he's staying at Juventus?
The way they're playing at the moment, they better hope Woodward doesn't finish preparing the bid. It's pre season yes, but they could do with him.

I should rephrase my question, has anything of actual substance happened either way in the last couple of weeks?
I think the only things of substance over the whole saga have been Juve's statements that he's staying, etc.

From that I can deduce it is probably one of

1. They do protest too much, he's off
Or
2. They are trying to stir up a move for financial reasons but we are not interested
Or
3. He's staying and they are actually telling the truth

So, we are not really any the wiser.

Perfectly valid option - I would not be at all happy with one of our players signing an LFC shirt!

I agree but what about if it were, say, an AC Milan shirt. Liverpool are our rivals, Juventus are not. Completely different scenarios

It would have made sense to wait and see Vidal play a game or two to assess his knee properly given the fee and our experience with Hargreaves - we were silly with Hargreaves anyway as before we signed he only averaged around 25 starts per season - a clear indication of issues

The problem with Vidal is that his first competitive game is on 30/08

Did this work?

Did you miss the Chile manager saying that the only thing holding up his move to us is concerns over his knee?

There is a preview option you know, so you can see yourself if it has worked! Click more options to the right of post reply.
I'm trying to bed the tweet with it in, not a special account just someone that has tweeted the pic, copied the link into the img URL bit. Maybe....this time....

He didn't sign a Milan shirt though did he.

True, but right at this moment, if you were a Juve fan, where would United be on the list of clubs you'd want to see him signing a shirt of? I reckon somewhere around level with Milan!

I doubt he knew that was a City shirt, or City even existed. Also both pictures of the jacket he's wearing is in different colours?

I know you all want Vidal, and believe united need Vidal, but Juventus are currently trailing 1-0 to the A - League All Stars and appear to badly need Vidal to stay. Juventus's team is containing Buffon, Evra, Pogba, Pirlo, Marchisio, Tevez and Llorente.

I haven't given up on this signing at all but we are clutching at straws a tad with this shirt shite.

Looks like the effect of the light/flash from the camera.
