Hang in there Vidal, Woody will soon have you in Manchester.

Vidal alone in the bus last night.

So when we finally decide to improve the midfield our two main targets are recovering from injuries. Brilliant.

Herrera is Carrick replacement, Vidal/Strootman would replace Hargreaves.

We need to make a similar video to this for Vidal. Remember Berbatov refusing to play for Tottenham and Fergie had to swoop in there to save him

"OMG!!!"

I should have known better

"Rumours from Chile"

You mean when the Chile national team manager went on record that Vidal's $80m transfer to United is on hold because Van Gaal has worries about his knee and Vidal might have sacrificed his personal gains in the future for his national team by playing on his injured knee?

Yeah real dodgy "rumour" that one.

Why are you so obsessed with this transfer?

It's ultimately just another piece of speculation though. Another theory is that LvG was just being true it his word and giving his existing players the chance to impress before concluding a move when back in the UK.

I'm tired of this saga, having been on tenterhooks a couple of weeks back. Just going to see how it develops without getting too emotionally involved.
I don't know how you guys get emotionally invested in these transfers to be honest. Unless you're all huge fans of Vidal.

Leaving Juventus. Many great memories after so many years. Many great friends that he has to leave to fulfil his dream and play for Manchester United.
"Go Arturo, have a moment to yourself on the team bus, we are sorry but Manchester United have decided they are too concerned over your knee, we are sorry but you will always have a place at Juve, take your time."

OR

"Arturo, the bid has come in, we have no option, they have offered an incredible deal and I believe we can finally move along with the deal, we are happy to sell you to Manchester United, you now have a few days to mull over their offer and say your goodbyes, please take a moment if you need, to think about your options"

#Buffon has personally spoken to #Vidal - Bung Karno Stadium - SKY says Vidal isn't 100% fit yet & today won't play.

I love stuff like this, they are probably just having a chat about how bad the food at the hotel was last night, but instead it's turned into Buffon telling Vidal to stay at Juve

Who told you he's not coming?
Instinct friends... instinct. Van Gaal is wary of knee injuries. When asked about Strootman he said that Strootman has to first recover successfully from knee injury and that's not easy to do. Not many fully recover from knee injuries.

With Vidal, he's 27 and probably in the prime of his career. But, the fact remains he's 27 and has maybe 5-6 top class years of football. With his dodgy knee, how many of those years can be injury-free? The problem with his injury is that he was in bad-shape before the WC and was told to not play in Rio. He decided to go through the tournament with painkillers and regular injections. The damage done to his knee is immeasurable. He might have done permanent damage and it's a ticking time bomb of an injury waiting to go off. Look how Hargreaves turned out? He never recovered once he got injured at United and it was said that it was worsened because he was played with a dodgy knee.

Vidal played a number of games in a very short span of time and that adds to the stress. I'm not sure LVG is willing to spend north of £40m for a player who may end up crocked for a while to come if he were to re-injure himself.

Tremendous player but that's a lot of money for an unknown quantity with respect to his knee.

As I said, instinct.

EDIT: Apologies. He's 27. Not that it matters too much to the point I'm making.

I fully expect some of our Indonesian fans to be in the stadium and have a banner asking Vidal to join United. Would be funny to see the reaction of Juventus supporters if that happened.
I'd do it if not for 2 things,
The ticket is extremely expensive, and I'd probably get beat up by Juve fans in the stadium:nervous:

That's not strictly true, did he not have an operation to fix the problem in his knee before the WC? Sure he has run on it earlier than he should, but that's a bit different.

He's not 28 til next May.

It's only a meniscus tear he had sorted, he'll be fit soon and we can take him through the medical.
