Arturo Vidal

They couldn't do that to us. Imagine them announcing we had signed Vidal then a few days later saying he failed the medical.[/QUOTE

Could happen if his knee really is an issue, best to do a medical in secret before anything is announced.... if that's allowed? would be far kinder to us pessimists.

I suspect in a few days Vidal will fly home from the tour 'injured' we will then do a medical on the quiet.

Or we'll not take the risk on his knee and not sign him

I'm 70/30 we will though

No chance we'll take any risk with a dodgy knee at the sort of fee, and wages been quoted, any doubts we'll not go ahead.

just hope it's something of nothing, and the delay was because we were on tour, can't see us letting it drag until they return from their tour, doesn't suit anybody that.

Or there is just a chance we aren't 'in' for him at all.

Also - I still maintain that the only thing holding this back is his knee. This talk of LvG "reviewing the team for a few weeks" would fit in with a timescale of Vidal getting back to pre-season and having an idea of how the knee is shaping up after a months rest.

Not saying I'm ITK. Just saying, 2 weeks and he will be ours.

90/10 here and holding strong !

Smuda was fecking clueless but there was an offer from us, it was the same time we've placed bid for Kagawa. I think that BVB pulled out.
I never heard about a bid. I remember Lewandowski said he spoke with Sir Alex but talk of a move never came up.

Yup. What's surprising is that we don't have an apparent back up to Vidal. Or is that Strootman
We have to. We're almost too careful and hesitant when we sign midfielders. We need to make midfield signings whether it's Vidal works out or not.

But the news about the knee isn't new information.
It being the reason for hesitation is, though.

The relevance of the knee with regards to the transfer is only to the extent that it's an issue for us.

It's ultimately just another piece of speculation though. Another theory is that LvG was just being true it his word and giving his existing players the chance to impress before concluding a move when back in the UK.

I'm tired of this saga, having been on tenterhooks a couple of weeks back. Just going to see how it develops without getting too emotionally involved.

Given the details about his dodgy knee being a worry, this is probably moer unlikely now?
Don't know what to think, on the one hand it's the first concrete information about a transfer we heard, on the other I can understand why we are careful about the whole thing. Strange thing is he isnt even training.

It's so disappointing that we don't have an Arturo meter, someone needs to fix this.
There was one, but it was hundreds of pages ago, good luck finding it!
His mohawk was pointing to "IT'S ON" as well, so it was accurate.

BBC Sportsday's pitcture today is of vidal and it nearly gave me a heart attack the cnuts.

How can you possibly know we don't have a backup?

The question begs to be asked on whether we have a backup plan ready to be applied now or not, though. Since Khedira did not move to Arsenal as he was supposed to a few weeks ago, there was and still is a perfect opportunity to hijack that damn transfer before any of those jackasses in London does so.

If those concerns about Vidal and Strootman's respective knees are that serious, then it's time to go to Plan B. For me, I wouldn't wait for Strootman at all.

SAF said in his autobiography that he was interested in signing him but didn't bid for him as we signed Kagawa that summer and he didn't think Dortmund would sell both at the same time.

UK media are now reporting Vidal and his knee issue. Let's see how he gets on in pre season, in the mean time we should also be looking at alternatives.
