We'll agree to disagree. Woodword, for me, still has a lot to prove and has yet to deliver. It remains to be seen if he will.

It seems you only read the things that support your argument, ignoring the rest. It's not really a case of agreeing to disagree, it's more just letting you get on with it.

He's delivered four players around the £30million mark in two and a bit transfer windows. How many ~£30million players did we sign in the two/three transfer windows before that?
Unprecedented spending, he said. He's hardly tested himself in the transfer market, has he? Over paid for a donkey in Fellaini, spent massively on a player for sale from a club all to happy to sell to us, over spent on a teenager, and triggered a release clause.

I'm willing to be patient, but to suggest Woodword has delivered is wrong. Unless van Gaal is genuinely happy with what he has.

Which 3 defenders are out?

I dont expect us to win the league. Main goal is to be back in top 4.
"Main goal" could be and should be title. Not only should that be our aim even currently but with a couple of class signing in the required positions we could actually challenge for the title.

Top 4 should acceptable not Main goal. We finished 7th last season but our Manager was David Moyes. Now we have LVG and if we sign a CM and CB, we can easily challenge for the title. For that we require Glazers and Woodward to spend cash in proportion to our revenue and size.

Not according to our manager it isn't.

Yep!

And with the dosh he has at his disposal - he should be spending it to try to win the league. Everyone knows what we need to challenge & its frustrating that LvG doesnt already. The whole defence is injury-prone & CM is pish - apart from Herrera.

Cant see the cash-splash happening now though - he seems like he's got his squad together already, judging by the intense training session's etc. Square-pegs in round holes also..

Yet if Chelsea make these same deals, signing Fabregas when his club wanted to sell, triggering a release clause for Costa (whilst simultaneously overpaying for a donkey), they're lauded as the kings of the transfer market.

When will you be happy? If Mata doesn't please you as a signing, what will?

Nah, Woodward has said himself he has yet to prove himself!

Give us the translation goddammit.

Arturo Vidal starts in the business world
These days, Arturo Vidal is awaiting his imminent transfer to Manchester United. If the transaction goes through, Juventus will receive $ 60 million for his transfer and midfielder born in San Joaquín increase its revenues by $ 18 million every 365 days.

Meanwhile, the national team projects its future outside of football and, although their economic future is assured, midfielder started in business. Now 27 years old and although he left several seasons at the highest level of world football, has also been given the time to explore some areas for investment.

Last month, the club opened Chicureo Vidal, a structure comprising an area of 20 thousand square meters and has tennis football, heated lap pool, rooms for yoga and pilates. A gym that will feature similar conditions that have to train daily in Italy was also installed. Investing around U.S. $ 5 million. It will not be the only one, it is anticipated a new injection of funds to modernize in the face of the summer season.

The first steps in economic Footballer are advised by Carlos Albornoz Pardo, cousin of former Colo Colo player and academic at the School of Business of the University of Development. Albornoz, one of the partners of Vidal in Chicureo Club, which explores new projects to capitalize on the millions in profits that gets the star of Juventus.

"Arturo's intention is to continue growing in the sports industry. We are evaluating installing sports centers in other parts of Santiago, but such projects are very sensitive to the value of the land. So take a little longer to materialize, "says MBA and PhD in New Business Development at the University of Florida, USA, who this week gave a lecture in Philadelphia.

The new complex will differ from that held in the exclusive neighborhood of Hill, will play a social role as one of the main concerns of the star who, for example, is the vice president of the Athletes for a Dream Foundation, which helps children suffering serious diseases.

"We have a social online. For example, in September we will begin to work with the sports club Legua Juniors, San Joaquin. We are also working in the San Joaquin Guasco tennis club is synthetic grass. The Team Vidal, who is in charge of the school football and directs Ariel Chicureo Leporatti, we work with a team of university professors. Will replicate that model. I do not rule add some celebrity, to the extent that new schools were opened. "

Tennis, horse riding and China

Gamonal Robinson, a former member of the Chilean Davis Cup team, is responsible for the tennis academy that works in the sports of Chicureo. "I called Arthur, through the manager Gonzalo Santelices, who worked at the Ciudad Deportiva Iván Zamorano. I showed the project because they are working in nurseries and training programs and we believe that is a good place Chicureo. The facilities are first class, "he explains.

The first objective is to target the training area, and then make the leap to high performance. "He is fascinated with the project. Initially work with children in the area, then it is planned to expand into other sectors, because the Vidal Group wants to promote tennis and sport in several communes ".

The riding his passions. Maintains Alvidal stud that gradually adds horse wins in major competitions Chile. Sono Il Campione and Bianconero are the main letters. Follow the results and in the medium term, seek new achievements. In June, it spent $ 324 million on the purchase of six foals, sons of Scat Daddy colt fashion.

Meanwhile, her figure, as their current account still growing: Before World, a Chinese brand lubricants probed as an advertising face. Vidal, in itself, is good business.

I have absolutely know idea whats going on, if we are interested or not, but I know business and Woodward is first and foremost a businessman, not an ex player with a check book.

If we in any shape or form are interested in Vidal we need Juventus or Vidal to take the first step, remember when we bought Juan Mata. Chelsea wanted Rooney and at that time everything was uncertain and up in the air. Any chance to be successful in such a high profile deal is to wait for the opportunity. If we declare our interest then our cards is on the table and we are depending on Juventus and Vidal's demands. Not a good way to do business. As often it's a wait and see game, sometimes we succeed but mostly it ends up in the dust.

I think, without knowing, that we will start to do our business after we left the US, probably in the middle of next week. Players outside our managers plans will be informed, either they will be sold or loaned out, if they refuse to move then we will see what kind of manager LvG is. Woodward will as soon as he knows LvG final intentions step in and start to negotiate where its possible, in some cases we maybe have to accept defeat if the price or wage demand are too high.

Either way I'm not worried. United is a huge players on this field. We can offer wages and prestige that only Real Madrid, Barcelona and probably Bayern Münich can match. With or without CL qualification we are probably the club with the biggest fan base in the world. Tonight we will meet Real in front of 107 000 screaming supporters and millions watching on TV. You can bet Vidal knows this.

Nah, Woodward has said himself he has yet to prove himself!
I didn't say he had proved himself though, did I? You've griped about our recent transfers. Apart from Fellaini, what of the other three have you got to be unhappy about? Triggering a release clause is hardly a cause to gripe, is it? Nor does it rule it out as a good transfer signing. We wanted a player, we paid for him. Same with Mata. Same with Shaw.

:nervous: Mind blown

But we've still to bring in world class talent from abroad? I hope we do, because I'd love Vidal. But my point you had an issue with still stands, this is not the type of deal we traditionally complete and it remains to be seen if we will.

What has been surprising is, 430 pages in and not a single post about cheeky 25m bid? Or have we set ourselves high standards nowadays?

This sums up my thinking although I'm firmly in the "we're not in for Vidal" camp.

thanks for the translation.
i found this bit interesting, with the supposed high reliabilty of the news paper reporting it.

Just over 4 weeks (worst case scenario) until we find out for sure. I just want it over now.

Maybe with new CM and CB we wouldnt challenge easily for the title, maybe without additions we would. Neither me nor you know what will happen. It's football and nobody knows in which case we would 'easily' challenge for the title. Challenging for the PL title isnt easy by any means.

Why? I've seen a lot of people say this, but why is it so dependent on the squad getting back from the US before we start doing any business? Has Woody forgotten that he can communicate with LGV by phone, and just sitting in his office waiting for LVG to arrive back and reveal all his grand plans?

All throughout the Summer people have been putting timescales on our business, coming up with reasons not much has happened yet. It started off with it being done before the WC, then that changed to nothing will happen until after the WC, then it was well we'll do any business before we fly out on tour, then that line of thinking changed to actually we'll do business when we get back. Its just pushing further and further back. The season starts in two weeks.

Massively spent on a player from a club all to happy to sell to us? So what? You're talking is if it were some crappy player Chelsea just wanted to get rid of. And if we didnt bought him you and people like you would cry cause of it. Over spent on a teenager? So what, it's not your money. It's the market which has gone crazy and he's english so his price is a bit higher than the others at his age.
Triggered a release clause? My god, woodward, how could you do that?! Triggered a release clause so his price wouldn't be higher..
That's really crazy!

Some people are never satisfied.

Lvg has made a big deal about how the team needs time to adapt to formation etc - season starts in 2 weeks....there is no way we will do a lot of business.

Vermaelen that's it. That's all I'm expecting

vidal plays in a 3-5-2 formation regularly. he wouldnt have trouble fitting in i imagine. i believe we will sign him.

The balance of uncertainties clearly demonstrates our interest in Vidal.

Whether the deal comes together remains to be seen, but for quite some time it's been clear that our interest is real.

I didn't say we had, I said you couldn't rule it out on historical evidence, because we've changed as a club recently. You then changed yoir argument to the money we'd spent and discrediting our recent transfers as easy transactions that hadn't stretched anyone.

But we haven't changed in the respect I mentioned?
