Marotta: "Arturo Vidal has never said that he wanted to leave & Juventus will sell him only if he were to remain unhappy." TMW

Not really an issue i'd imagine?

Didn't RvP go and play in a competition for Arsenal whilst being linked heavily to us? I can't remember what it was, perhaps the Emirates Cup? If i remember rightly, he was subbed during a match and wasn't happy about it at all.

All true. It's not 100% the end. But it was well known that RVP would be leaving Arsenal since he refused to sign a new deal. No one really knows what Vidal wants.

What else did ppl expect? We are way too far away from a deal with him for Vidal not to join them on tour. IF it's true that we haven't even bid for him yet it was only logical that he will go with them.
We can close this thread though until he returns. Nothing will happen until he returns, if anything is going to happen at all.

I hate when people say close this thread. How about don't post in this thread? It's not hard.

But they've done well in his system thus far?

Have you seen any of the games? Nani has been dire, he was hooked off after 20mins after coming on as a sub. Thomas hasn't been any better either, he was pulled off whilst captain after LVG said he'd be playing the full game, he as far as I'm aware hadn't taken a knock either.

My personal opinion is that LVG is pinning all his hopes on Kevin Strootman who we won't make a move for until at least January and even then we might not get him. Dangerous waiting game LVG is playing, the longer we leave it the less chance clubs will won't to sell as time is running out for them to sign replacements etc

FFS Marotta just say you are not selling him and let us be free. Why the "if he tells us he wants to leave" shit.

That convo someone came up with on here was bang on.

"Meltdown".

Has anyone ever actually seen one?
It was a Chernobyl meltdown when Sneijder didn't come. I wasn't a member but followed the whole spectacle. Lucas Moura was more a three mile island, partial meltdown. Thiago was more a toxic waste spill:)

Tom McDermott who was adamant Vidal would be signing for us, has now deleted his twitter account.

What a strange thing for him to say. Is this all just posturing with regards to a new contract?

It's clearly down to the player to say he wants to leave, which means he has to be certain he'll get the deal he wants from us (or whoever) first.

Yeah. By all accounts we still haven't bid, so I don't think he'll want to burn bridges without being certain the move is done.

So what are we waiting for when it's all so painfully obvious? I gather that we are actually not that interested in him after all

Its getting more and more obvious by the day that its Juve that want to sell, and its them generating all the noise. They're desperate for a bid.

I doubt we're even remotely interested.

Can we forget this transfer and try to get Morgan Schneiderlin or William Carvalho instead? It looks like a waste of resource and eerily similiar to the Fabregas scenario where we ended up with an overpriced Fellaini.

He's ours if we want him. They keep leaving it open.

That's a telling quote, he wouldn't be saying that if Vidal had made it clear he wants to stay.....sounds like Vidal is "thinking about it" or "waiting for his agent"

Or maybe he is pushing for a new contract - juve are telling hime no new contract but if you want to leave bring us a bid that we can accept (€50m etc)

He signed an extension around the new year. Surely, it can't be because he wants another one.

It takes dedication to go through 400 odd pages and quote every instance of meltdown.

In fact Lots of posters on the CAF lost it last year when the only signing on transfer deadline is the most predictable transfer, for way over the release clause, after the entire summer of cashing players like Thiago, Fabregas, Bale and Herrera.

I would take you leaving the CAF if we don't sign Vidal as some sort of meltdown. :D

Obviously he's going on tour while he is a Juve player. Relax, this is happening.

Do you not think those two are equally as overpriced? Southampton were talking £27m for Schneiderlin, and Carvalho we've heard £30m + fees all summer.

Yes he did, but i don't see any reason why can't he ask for a new improved one. United comparing this all saga with Nicholas Gaitan (according to James Ducker) makes me believe that Vidal's agent is up to something (new contract)
We all speculating here I could be wrong or rite - feck knows what's happening :wenger:

Obviously i could be wrong but i think that United is waiting for LVG to come back from the tour and watch Januzaj, wilson, Fellaini, ...etc during a week or two. And then decide which positions he needs to strengthen first.

Is it like,
Player want to leave according to various media
Juventus coming more or less in open that they wait for Vidal to open the talk(is this club look more desperate to sell him)
And we are waiting right price to get him.

It more look like negotiation tactics on either side.
I think this will go till the end of the transfer window.

By the time that happens we'll have already started the season, and there will be a week of the transfer window left.

If we were to make big signings this Summer, it had to be early.

Marotta on Vidal "Today there are no grounds for us to talk of a possible sale."

Does anyone here knows how players contracts work ? I mean if Vidal don't ask to leave, Juve will end up paying remaining of his contract, right? If he is sold.

No but oftenly players have a loyalty clause, the club pay that clause if they put him on sale or if the player respects the duration of his contract.
