Arturo Vidal

United could put that on the official site and kill the speculation, Juve could get Vidal to go in a presser and do the same but nothing is happening.

Its such an odd one. To be linked with a high profile player all summer when we're not interested is harmful for the clubs PR. They face more accusations of being inept In the transfer market. We know Woody is aware of the perceptions people have but isn't doing much to calm it down.

For those wondering where Fernando Felicevich are, El Mercurio have your answer; he's currently in Cardiff. He's quoted saying that himself.

They've already briefed the same journos they briefed about Kroos and Cesc, that we aren't interested in Vidal. People just don't want to believe it. If the club has to put an official statement on the site everytime we are linked with a player they'll need to give someone a fulltime job doing just that. Its not as if this has been even a big story in the British press. 90% of the noise is coming from questionable sources in Italy and Chile.

Nothing has changed during the course of the last 200 pages that you suddenly decided to quote yourself as if the club or the player has come out and categorically denied it. It's still as ON as it was the last time you posted that opinion as some sort of fact.
Wake up. It's not on.

I wish it were, but it's not.

People want to call El Mercurio a tabloid full of bollocks, but they aren't. That doesnt mean that what they write is fact, it means that they get their info from good sources. Good chance its Vidal's agent or someone acting on behalf of his agent briefing them. But the agent could have his own agenda talking this up, even if we have no real interest.

Point is that they aren't like Metro taking Vidals medical with Juve and claiming that its for United or other sensationalist tabloids getting their info from the guy who scribe the toilets at the stadium.

They're the primary national paper in Chile, and one of the oldest in Latin America.

This Vidal bid will be the most anticipated bid in Manchester United's history.

After Van Gaal's recent comments, we can safely conclude we will most likely make no more signings.

I'm not suggesting united will sign the quality they need, but what Van Gaal says in the press, could be very different behind closed doors.

So these reliable papers are actually quoting or getting there stories from other unreliable papers.

Makes sense!

Why do you come to that conclusion? I've seen a few say that but the comments from VG suggest we may/may not bring in new players so can't see anything concrete at all.

Man this bid will be the most prepared bid in history, all future bids by all clubs will be compared to it.

For the sanity of some on here, I hope by some miracle there's a definitive answer on Vidal's future before Juventus leaves. Another week or two of this will not be for the faint of heart.

Are Juve even going to bother to announce the squad that's going on tour?

Everytime I see this thread increased by a couple of pages, my heart skipped a beat even though I know Vidal to United may not happen

To be fair we could flip this on its head, Kagawa, Hernandez, Cleverley, Nani even Evra came out on tour with us.

Vidal is in the squad according to Moratta
Not really an issue i'd imagine?

Didn't RvP go and play in a competition for Arsenal whilst being linked heavily to us? I can't remember what it was, perhaps the Emirates Cup? If i remember rightly, he was subbed during a match and wasn't happy about it at all.

If we are interested in the player surely it would've made sense to make a move before he left for pre-season?

My opinion is that van Gaal is still willing to work with the current crop and has yet to decide on a move.

Well listen guys if we haven't made an offer why the hell wouldn't he go on tour? Hopefully he comes to us fit and ready after a few games.

Yeah but he'd already announced his desire to leave by then.

He did though I think that was in Germany, not the other side of the world.

Mine is that he is publicly downplaying the need for transfers, whilst we continue to work on transfers behind the scenes.

He has had 3 weeks with the likes of Cleverley, Nani for example, surely he knows by now we need new blood?
