Arturo Vidal

My theory, and it is only a theory, is that there was some naivety last summer. New Chief Executive and a manager not used to so much interest around the club he manages. I think they said some things they thought were off the record and were burned by it, and have since shut up shop, or deliberately mislead the guys who betrayed their trust.

We all love a conspiracy theory, right?
Makes sense really. Normally reliable sources were telling us that de Vrij was our top target then it turned we weren't even in for him. Seems to me that the media is being fed rubbish to throw them off the scent so United can get the business done or, if it falls over, say we were never in for them.

Once the transfer window closes we'll have a better idea of who we were actually in for and who we weren't. In the mean time, I still believe there is something going on behind the scenes in regards to Vidal. Maybe United are waiting on Vidal telling Juve he wants to leave before putting in a request, I don't know but fact that Vidal hasn't came out and stated that the rumours aren't true says to me that he is wanting this move. He could easily post in his twitter that he's staying at Juve. The rumours aren't true and that United was never an option." He hasn't done that so I'm still on the ArturOn bandwagon.

How is this thread constantly at the top? Unless Im missing something, has it not been the same story for weeks now?

I wish Vidal would just say something to either put it to bed or push it through.

I wish there was a ticker informing everyone as soon as they enter the thread to save him the effort.
Maybe we should request a thread name change to highlight that it's"dead in the water". I have a serious concern that he'll give himself RSI (Repetitive Shitposting Injury). That can lead to Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, which is some serious shit.

Im not sure if its malicious intent in the way he is misleading them but he's definitely changed tack.

Naivety is certainly the word to describe him last season. I would say the interview he done with MUTV was also quite naive - he's put unncessary pressure on himself with some of the things he's said. Its only 2 weeks to go till the season starts and i think most would say we are still 3 players short (minimum).

Do you guys think if Vidal tours asia with Juve, then its all over? As Van Persie also went on to the tour with Arsenal.

Might be wrong, but weren't Arsenal already on tour when our interest became obvious.

I can remember he played a game, threw his shirt in the crowd and no one knew if it was on or off.

Oh please Woody don't put us through that.

Surely LvGs next press conference someone will ask him about this deal??!!

Hardly footy discussion Nev. Pipe down, or save it for the General Forum. Ta.

Nah, as soon as he steps foot on that plane for the tour, I'm done.

It means nothing if we're still negotiating. They're not going to leave him behind and concede that he is leaving. If they take him it doesn't mean they are going to play him, he's coming back from injury so they have every excuse not to. I'm sure they can find a spot for him on their private chartered jet.

That is what worries me. Couple of massive weeks ahead.

Can't understand how some on here think this is on  I want Vidal as much as anyone else here and can't understand how we've yet to make any sort of bid

Yet you seem to spend an inordinate amount of time in this thread. Can as easily avoid it if you don't believe there is any chance of it happening.

According to unreliable Italian paper Tuttosport, Vidal's agent is landing in Turin today to have a meeting regarding Vidal's future. He just had to sort out a Swansea deal first.

Make of that what you will.

Go to Transfer forum > click total post count of this thread (right hand side dude) > will bring up all posters/post counts from the thread.

Holy shit! brewlio posting in Transfer forum.
What do you think about this transfer?

@Sarni agree Blind would be an ideal signing though. Can play DM, LB and understand the LWB position. Not a world beater but a very handy squad player.

I previosuly really wanted us to sign Blind and part of me still wants us to but the problem is, based on current form, Shaw wouldn't be able to hold his place in the team if Blind was his competition. Not sure it would be in the best interest of developing our young left backs. We could play him in holding midfield but that probably wouldn't suit the current system Van Gaal has us playing.

Try the ignore functionality, Nev. Really useful.

This is dead in the water. If we're yet to bid we clearly aren't interested, Juve leaves for pre-season Sunday if he wanted the move he'd want it done before hand.
Guinness book of records are keeping an eye on this fella. Your contribution to this thread really is extraordinary. We're all so glad you're involved.

Swansea deal?

I'm not suggesting they have a hotline to Woodward, but they must be getting information from somewhere, I know they have to sell papers at the end of the day but I doubt they all just make it up.

Again, why? They're not getting anything right. I'd suggest that means they aren't getting information. At least, not from anyone who actually knows anything.

Christ, he's no David Alaba. I think he's even more defensive than Shaw too from what I saw at the WC.

On Vidal anyway we've had nothing new for some time now. Surely we'll know something concrete anytime soon. Vidal week has certainly been a disappointment.

Bit of an over exaggeration I think I've said it four times at most.
"Dead in the water", "this is off", "this isn't happening", "I can't believe people think this is on". They're all the same. What's the point, when you know no more than anyone else?

Muppets these days have zero stamina.

Pace yourself, got a little while yet. They're going to take him on tour with them, just because they can.

The meltdown when they do will be hilarious. I'm going to keep a tally of how many people say 'close thread'.

Even though i don't believe we are really in for him, IF we ARE in for him, i feel something could happen today.
Now like i said, i don't believe we are in for him but obviously i don't know that for certain so i'm just keeping my options open and i could see something happening today if we are possibly in for him.

Clutching at straws, Woodward doesn't think before he speaks.

We're going to end up with De Jong aren't we :(

Nobody questioning Van Gaal? He just turned down one of the best CM's in Europe while our midfield is filled with average dross.

Who else could we possibly sign? A half fit Strootman or De Jong.

If we sign someone other than Blind or De Jong I'll be shocked.

We couldn't sign big names even when we had CL football.

I think Vidal will leave but I'd be very surprised if it was to us.

Not this again. Don't get your hopes up lads.

Don't think we'll hear anything today.

Yep I'm trying not to.

Unfortunately this is the likeliest outcome.

I'm expecting a meltdown when Allegri denies the rumors of a verbal agreement.

This is all bullshit if we were interested we would have put in a bid by now.

This is dead in the water.

Does anyone realistically think this will happen?

I don't know anymore. This whole saga is just so tedious.

It's yet to be seen we have any interest in Vidal.

This isn't happening is it :(

You're the most tedious person I have ever come across. That's just the first couple of pages of your posts in here. The rest are the same.

He assisted for a lot of Holland's goals at the world cup so that's not really true. I am not building Blind up to be more than what he is. He's very good tactically and his left foot is a lot better than Shaw's. Part of the problem for Shaw at the moment is that he doesn't understand the wing-back position as well as Blind, so he needs time.
