I don't think thats the case tbh. We need 1 experienced CB either to be a starter (would have to be world class like Hummels) or to be backup to Smalling/Jones/Evans.
Left back imo we're ok. Shaw and James look like they'll push each other all Season and that's a good thing, keeps them both sharp.
James (along with Blackett and Keane) are all entirely untested at Premier League level (or any top flight) so it remains to be seen how they'll do. All 3 have looked good in pre-season. Would be a huge risk to have them 3 as our only cover players for CB and LWB though.
