I really can't see this happening, mainly now because I think a CM would be 3rd in the list of priorities. In this system the CM is serviceable as it is and can be looked at again next Summer when we're likely gunna shift back to a 433. However, we're in pretty desperate need for a CB and LWB and those should be given priority.

Ridiculous really seeing as we let a perfectly good CB and LWB leave this Summer.

Look if you want to clutch at straws and believe the regurgitated twitter stories that's fine, just don't get too disappointed if it doesn't happen. I will be more than happy to be gladly wrong about this one. Hopefully we will see some proper news on it soon if not this is not happening.

Of course there has. All the people you consider reliable have reported this as being on at one point or another throughout the summer, so are they reliable or not? They started reporting it was off when we briefed them we weren't interested, with some of them suggesting they get lied to all the time by clubs.

This has all been apparent since this 'saga' has begun. The story has no more legs than the Thiago one did.

I really want this to happen like any other United fan but at the same time i feel we are being led on. The story has not evolved at all over the last few weeks and when the main source is from twitter ITK like IndyKaila and AgentEdward it makes it even less believable.

It's 3rd in the priority list? So who can play alongside Herrera? Cleverly? Anderson? fletcher? fellaini? Plus Herrera is untested at this level, united need that CM signing badly to partner Herrera, not too mention carricks age at 33

As I see it we have first team quality players at LB and CB with no cover, in midfield we don't even have a first team quality player to partner Herrera. Just get Blind to cover everything.

Assuming you mean Evra and Vidic? Vidic left way before LVG was in the running and Evra asked to leave. We didnt "let" anyone leave, they wanted to go.

I thought Vidic made the arrangements to leave when Moyes was in charge, I wonder if he would have left if he knew LVG was coming

Evra was different, he saw us spend a lot on his replacement, and understandably moved to ensure a better chance of playing.

Disappointed both left, but no complaints, good luck to them both

And this is coming from the guy who started a thread in the old general saying that all people with Mohawks are just attention seeking wankers. Ciderman admitted to having a Mohawk many times over the years which did a lot to backup my argument.

Why has nobody asked about it at any stage, anywhere? Do the press just think "well, we don't think it's happening so no need to ask a question and maybe get a scoop or interesting titbit to report"? Or is it more likely that they've been briefed not to ask questions about Vidal/transfers etc in the press conferences? They haven't asked about any players, at all, at any stage. Why make it Vidal specific?

They've probably been told not to ask about specific players. I mean, no one has asked him about Vermaelen for example. The only player he's talked about is Strootman but while he wasn't playing, it was before a Roma game and LVG has managed him.

When we bought Herrera and Shaw there were a number of credible reports leading upto the transfers that the deal was being discussed, a bid was close etc...

This transfer is just made up from stories from the Mirror, Express etc.

You beleive credible sources, you've taken what the board have said as 'fact', despite these comments coming from someone with a reputation and known history for bullshiting when it comes to transfers. You can't have it both ways.

I take everything that is said in tabloids as truth, care to back that up with a bit of evidence? Or are you just making this sweeping judgement based on my questioning of you? Clearly there is something in this story, whether a bid has been made, we've made an enquiry or Vidals agent is trying to drum up interest you don't get this kind of relentless exposure unless something has been said or done.

How have they been the main sources? The main sources have been well respected publications in Chile (his home country) and Italy (where he plays).

Look, I've no idea if this is on or off, I've never made a judgement call either way because, like everyone else, I've no fecking clue what's going on behind the scenes, so I don't pretend I do. If you're going to believe it's off though and tell everyone why it's off, at least state facts instead of talking balls about how it's all "Twitter ITK" stuff. It's being reported on a daily basis by long established, repected foreign media outlets.

Because there was nothing to be agreed. He had a release clause, once we paid it out that was it. Vidal doesn't have that, so IF we sign him an agreement has to be made between the two clubs. That naturally takes longer, especially if they don't particularly want to sell and are holding out for an offer they can't refuse.

Seriously, what is this retarded notion people have that all transfers are the same and have to take the exact same time to be done?

And yet if you read the "reliable" journalists, it was off, on, stalled, off and on again, with him going to Chelsea at some point in between. That was my whole bloody point. Is there something wrong with you?

It doesn't matter if it drags on or not, or wether he comes or not, i'm gonna still be smiling when the new season starts.
