According to Tuttosport today his agent has been in the UK the last 48 hours.

Got it from that Italian Juventus forum:

Somewhat comical google translation:

Juve-Vidal-United, you will enter a decisive phase

Felicevich in England in the past 48 hours. Marotta is still waiting for a concrete offer from the British. Arturo surrounded by white fans

TURIN, August 1, 2014 - Drafts, phone calls and contacts. The "soap opera Vidal" enters its decisive phase, one that will mark the fate of the Juventus midfielder. After talks in recent days, with both Allegri is with the company, the Chilean expect to face-to-face with his attorney. Fernando Felicevich landed in Europe at the beginning of the week, in the past 48 hours has been based in England and at any moment could move to Italy. The Argentine powerful agent is working tirelessly, taken from the future of Medel (led by Cardiff Inter) and Vidal. In England and Chile pointing on white smoke Vidal-Manchester United, convinced that in the end the Old Trafford club will put on the plate astonishing figures. At least 50 million for Juventus and at least 8 million of engagement for the player. Because from what transpires, I would be willing to leave Juventus Turin - and digest a season without Champions - only (and only) for a salary almost double the current. Manchester United, a strong portfolio of almost unlimited, would not have problems to meet the needs of Felicevich. But a bank of this kind usually requires determination and time. But in Corso Galileo Ferraris do not intend to wait forever, as part of Sunday's tour in Asia and Oceania and Allegri wants to board the flight to Jakarta with a suitcase in certainty about the future of the former Bayer Leverkusen. More than a desire, an ultimatum. Although the transfer market everything is subject to change.

Nowhere to Run
If Marotta awaits the concrete steps of the Manchester United and dribbled the rumors, Vidal is surrounded by Juventus fans, anxious as him for the hit in recent weeks. Every day there is some advocate waiting for him outside the hotel hosting the retreat Juventus. The Chilean has not lost the good habits, is always available for photos and autographs. More buttoned on the future. He smiles, but is cautious.

Juve are waiting for the official bid from United which is still being prepared.:wenger:

Juve will soon send their people to help us prepare the bid ... we are preparing it for a month.

So the agent has been in the UK to sort out the transfer for Medel from Cardiff to Inter and United hasn't actually put in an official offer yet. So I suppose it was all bullshit about Felicevic going to Italy with a firm United offer a couple of days ago. Surprise.

The only thing that's keeping my hopes up is the fact that Vidal hasn't come out and said anything. It's also encouraging to see how convinced many of those Juve fans are that this transfer is actually happen. They even have muppet polls on there on how the Vidal money should be spent (spend it all on Di Maria / spend it all on Reus etc etc). It's glorious.

But I just can't shake the feeling this is all just a big WUM.

Its a pretty silly trend on the caf. In most likeliness, we are not dallying because we want to. Either we aren't interested or if we are, then we are letting the player show his willingness and then moving ahead. As soon as we know Vidal will push our case, we'll bid in a few hours. Bidding and then being rejected by the player is pretty much what happened with Fabregas last year.

Damned if you do. Damned if you don't.

Talking sense is not allowed in this thread IL! :nono:

Either you have to go in muppet mode and believe, or you should criticize by posting 100 times how this thread has gone to 400 pages without anything concrete and blame club and woody.
Now...repeat after me...IT.IS.ON!!

This isn't going to happen. He'll fly out with rest of squad on Sunday at which point we may as well lock this thread.

So, Sunday is the day now? Maybe he's waiting to see if we can beat Madrid then.

For all those convinced this isn't happening they really should be jumping onto the 2 to 1 bet that he is staying at Juventus.

1/5 now to join us

This bid better be worth the preparation. I will jump off my staircase if this bid ever materialises and it gets rejected.

Even if it gets rejected it will be a better bid than any other bid. We prepare our bids with care, crafting each one with vast amounts of diligence. They are hand written by a monk living in the forest I've heard and finished with a golden plated stamp.

Where can I get this value bet?

I can only see us going for defenders for the rest of the window. Hope to god LVG sees how weak our midfield is.
That glimmer of hope still shines until Vidal or anyone at Unied declares we aren't in for him.

According to MEN Liverpool are in for him and have submitted a bid.

Further confirmation he's going nowhere !

That's my worry. I can actually see us signing one or two defenders and that's us finished.

One injury to Herrera and we're screwed.

If nothing happens today, we have to wait till LGV come back from tour.
I think we will have the result before next weekend.Until then we will speculate with on and off.

It all makes perfect sense now. Ed has challenge the agent to a game.

He has told him he has hidden 40M pounds in London, and has given him a series of clues to find the money before the window shuts. Only then can a bid be formally issued and the agent get's his cut. Wow Ed you sure are a trickster.

I haven't bought a shirt for about 20 years but I'll get one when this comes through.

Hell, I'll probably get one anyway and lock myself in my room making up fake commentary.
Make sure you get a size to big, they make them a lot more snug these days. Landed myself a Mata shirt last year and put a few pounds on, the wife now asks if I'm wearing my boob tube for the match.

I'm pretty sure we are still monitoring the situation. I doubt we'll start preparing the bid until we know he's available.

Enlightenment came upon me This Night.

We’ve heard all the talk from Woodward about his “excitement about signing new deals”. Van Gaal sounded confident about bringing some new faces too.

I expressed anxiety about our lack of actions in transfer window. I don’t believe van Gaal needs so much time to value our squad, as it’s easy to see in which areas we lack quantity, and where quality.

But there is an explanation. LVG complained about “commercial interests interfering with football preparation”. What I understand is that he is not allowed to bring new players to the tour because they have to be presented at Old Trafford, and he also has to be present.

Waiting for so long to make transfers makes no sense whatsoever, especially as our squad have to learn 3-5-2 before the season starts for good. That’s why he’s complaining.

All this “we’ve got this” attitude indicates that we are confident to sign some big names.

I’m no muppet anymore (the Thiago saga hurt me badly), but I can see some logic in there.

Now, Vidal. My understanding is that Vidal has not committed himself to Juve. Their comments don’t bother me at all (won’t sell a virus and all that). It’s quite clear that we are the only one after Vidal. If there was some serious interest from other clubs then we would’ve known more than we do IMO.

Don’t give up on him. Ed’s got this. Done Dealio.
It’s amazing how a day off and some alcohol can work on your brain.
Or am I reading too much into it

The famous number 7 jersey at United has reportedly been reserved for Vidal.

The part in the article where it states that LvG has ordered the no. 7 shirt to be reserved is the part which broke my suspension of disbelief.

It's absurd to think that LvG who had just joined us, is well versed with the value & history of the no.7 jersey enough to reserve it specifically for Vidal.
