Arturo Vidal

It's the hope that kills you. In the case of this thread it appears to be a repeating cycle.

Madrid's muppets have it so easy.

Clearly available and an obvious choice for us but sho knows if we are in for him or would meet the sort of fees it would require.

I still don't think this is over, not until Vidal gets on the plane on Sunday to join Juventus' Asian tour.

So you're a glass half-empty kinda guy?

Not at all, I'm very optimistic and I'm confident the squad will be strengthened come the start of the season.

Again, Vidal would be a great signing but show me a credible source for all this shite.

One thing I ain't is deluded.

You could imagine some of these negative moaners being Real Madrid supporters

Would probably go something like this:

We’ve spent yet another 100 million or more on players this summer and we’ve still only won 3 La Liga’s in the last 11 years, wish we were like Manchester United , they’ve won five and their league is much superior to ours

Even the Champions League, we had to wait 12 years for us to win it and even then we were a couple of minutes from losing it

I actually think the article in the paper saying we have a verbal agreement is a credible source. It's very different them devoting 3 pages to their source, compared to random people tweeting their latest update.

Am not saying that it will definitely go through, but I cannot see them doing what they did without being confident in their source.

There is NEVER going to be a credible source that a particular transfer is imminent until after it's happened.

The better bet is that it's on, but there's still a chance Real or someone else might snatch Vidal from us. I don't see much of a chance of Juve rejected a massive bid AND Vidal turning down the opportunity to double his wages.

i would say just a clueless guy.

Realistic mate, if you want to believe Nigerian rappers and other equally shite sources and ignore pretty much every credible football journalist, then I would imagine it's you that's clueless.

The credible football journalists being fed the line "no contact has been made with Juventus" by United you mean?

I hope you are right, I would love Vidal here.

And as we all know, all the credible journalists in the world work in England, and they're all the modicum of truth and professionalism. No credible journalist has ever worked in a shit journalistic country like Italy, for example. Especially football journalists, what with them having so little to write about in that footballing backwater.

Was just going to say that I don't envision any other team signing him. He will either sign for us, or stay at Juve.

It made me think - there were rumours Liverpool were in for him, but they have completely died down. To me, that supports my view. If Juve / Vidal wanted to end any speculation, he would say that he is staying at Juve this season.

He is on a new contract signed less than a year ago, so I do not think this is simply a play by his agent to get more money. The speculation is not helping his standing with Juventus fans either.

Don't forget that Chile is known for it's shite journalists. England is full of good and realiable ones, as you said, though. Apart from Mitten and Odgen apparently.

I did almost stop there - but even the supposedly reputable journalists are caught up in the transfer season frenzy.

Imagine if he did sign for United and then he was a total flop after all of this!

Can we now archive this thread with the others including Benzema, Torres, Sneijder etc.

Some are better than others, otherwise we wouldn't have a list of approved journo's in the twitter thread.

The same ones linking us with a move for Stefan DeVrij just last week?

It is clear the club are keeping their cards close to their chest and these journos haven't got the first clue who we are after.
