Arturo Vidal

Did anyone see the talk sport article where Ogden says all the noise from Chile and Italy might mean something. Keep the optimism

I don't know why we/you are so negative. Most Juve fans think he is off to us.

And as we all know, all the credible journalists in the world work in England, and they're all the modicum of truth and professionalism. No credible journalist has ever worked in a shit journalistic country like Italy, for example. Especially football journalists, what with them having so little to write about in that footballing backwater.

I'm talking about journalists close to Utd, and none of them are picking it up, it's a massive story and a huge transfer, but it's still quiet over here.

Realistic mate, if you want to believe Nigerian rappers and other equally shite sources and ignore pretty much every credible football journalist, then I would imagine it's you that's clueless.

No idea how you can be 'realistic' when it comes to transfer dealings - since we have zero insight into what is actually happening!! Maybe that's the ultimate level of delusion? ;)

As has been said time and time again, this thread (and the classics that have come before it) is very much a glass half-full kind of place. Always hoping, always aware that things might now work out, but always optimistic.

I have no idea why people who keep saying they are "like, so over this" feel the need to keep stating their case. They have no more insight than anyone else, yet, incongruously appear to have cast-iron faith in their sources / reports, whilst belittling those who have faith in other sources.

Oh, and comparing El Mercurio to Nigerian rappers with regard to their legitimacy, makes me imagine that it's you that's clueless.

Imagine if he did sign for United and then he was a total flop after all of this!

So you think a journalist is just going to say "ok thanks for that" without checking it out.

No, but there would be a big incentive to them not publishing / posting anything.

SAF banned reporters from United in the past.

Have you not heard what Ogdan said on Talksport? That should tell you how much these "credible journalists" know about what is going on.
Not to mention they all said we were in for Stefan De Vrij last week, and Martins Indi during the WC

Anybody who happens to be on Redissue Sanctuary, go on there and read what they have said about Vidal. Tell me if you think it's BS or not.

Because its human nature to focus on the negatives. Thats why many on here think he's not coming and many Juve fans think he is leaving.
Same with match day threads where they are much longer when we lose because people are content and happy when we win so there isn't as much to post about.

Anyway what happened with his agent?, i guess that was more Twitter bollocks?.

omg, I'm not human, somebody could have told me!

If he signs up to the forum on the basis that he doesn't repeat what he's told then he shouldn't repeat it.
Well he shouldn't of mentioned it then.

EDIT. Why would it be secret anyway if its just off another forum?

They are also still mentioning Hummels as well, even though Klopp completely buried that one.

I think the club are not briefing anything to anyone, so the journos are limited to guesswork, and their past info before LVG took over.

No I didn't, what did he say? I stopped listening to Talksport a long time ago.

The thing is you are all saying all these journalists that are actually close to Utd don't know what they're talking about, while hanging on the every word of all these dubious sources, because it's what you all want to here.

This was from Mark Ogden from the Telegraph:

He said all they keep getting told by United is not to believe it

''The word from Manchester United is contradictory, and it has been for a few days,”

“The message we have been getting is not to take any notice of the reports because it’s not happening.

“The noises coming out of Chile and Italy are so strong though that something may be going on behind the scenes.

“We’ve been told there is no direct contact with Juventus. Obviously that doesn’t mean there can’t be contact with associated parties. It seems to be a story that won’t go away.”

In no way does any of that suggest we're being contradictory. We're saying nothing is going on.

That's not to say that it's the truth. Any businessman worth a damn would not say a word about ongoing negotiations in public, unless they're a complete idiot. David Moyes being the perfect example.

There's absolutely nothing to talk about here. At all.

I assume he means it is contradictory to what they are hearing elsewhere from other sources.

Listen, I hope we sign Vidal as he is a top top player, but I refuse to get drawn in until those close to Utd start to report it. The only non Utd midfielder Van Gaal has mentioned is Strootman, and for that reason I can see this signing happening, now or in Jan, injury or no injury.
