Arturo Vidal

The bookies must feel that the stories from Chile & Italy are holding a lot of weight considering the odds.

I usually completely ignore transfer odds, but markets that actually include the player's current club as a selection is a different story.

I've put £50 on Vidal to stay at Juve. Still not totally sure Vidal wants to leave.

Vidal is a prick. Why doesn't he just come out and say one way or the other? If he has no intention of joining us he should specifically mention us by name and declare that he does not want to come here. He's a cock teasing whore and I've had enough of him. He can feck off.
Even if he does join now, I'm going to completely ignore him.

Honestly its so much of a no brainer that as soon as the bid comes in im sure he will move to us. All signs apart from the selling party point to yes, well have him.

Didn't he already, with the "no no no" comment?

The problem from his perspective is if he declares that he'd like to move, what happens if we don't bid? He'll have the fans on his back for being disloyal. Best move for him is to say nothing and let his agent deal with it all (assuming he wants to move).

Don't you dare come at me with common sense in a situation such as this. Who do you think you are?

This is the bit that is telling to me.
The reports that have been coming out over the last few days is that Vidal's agent has the offer from UTD (and subsequently is working on UTD's behalf). So the above would be 100% accurate in the we have not directly dealt with Juventus (as we have been dealing with his agent).
Maybe I'm another clutching at straws here but I have a feeling that this is going to run and run until we as a club put it to bed once and for all.

Sorry but do you really think Manchester United would give a third party agent free reign over our finances? Especially under the current ownership and CEO? That's madness, there's no way that is happening. It's ridiculous.

Yes, I don't want this sort of player at United. Much prefer players who openly talke about their desire to go to another club while still under contract, and kick up a fuss to force a move. We should have gone for Lovren.

Doesn't have to be complete control. "Here's the most we're willing to pay and here's what you'll get out of it...make it happen."

It's about as ON or OFF as another transfer really.

We don't know if he's interested in joining United, we don't know if LvG wants him. We don't know if Juve want to sell. We don't know if we've made a bid. The thing is anything can happen between now and when the window closes. Their manager saying he's staying means about as much as anything else we've read in recent weeks.

I think we've got an interest and for Juve to sell we're talking serious money to make it happen. Or Vidal to come out and say I want to go. There's a good chance it won't happen, about as likely of it happening IF LvG actually wants the player.

I'm not sure how some you get through the day with the IT'S ON/OFF talk that happens seemingly every day.

For what it worth, I hope we do want him and I hope we do get him. I think he'll fit into the team fantastically and add real quality in midfield along with Herrera. But yeah, we'll see.

You're not familiar with the role of an agent, are you?

It's what we did with Mata.

I don't think it involves giving anybody control over our finances though, I think you've misunderstood.

Again, we have our own representatives. That's not how a firm like Manchester United conducts its business.

There is no way I believe we negotiate with a club through a player's agent. They are not an impartial party and only have their own interests, along with their client's.

I reckon you are wrong on that we have used agents in the past umpteen time,
Anyone recall the use of Pini Zahavi the "Super Agent"

Yeah, why not? More money is more money. Any good agent would realise that Vidal's stock has gone up after a decent world cup and relative scarcity of midfielders which top clubs are seeking.

It would explain the whole, "he will stay as long Juve match wages offered by United" and why we seem to be telling reporters that we aren't interested.
So his agent is on his way with a fake proposition from United, and telling Juve "They're offering twice what he's on. Match it or he's off", and Juve, rather than contact us and be told "Yeah, Juventus, we've not offered him shit. We aren't interested in him" will just jump and give him this new deal, right?

I always wonder how these 'Using another clubs name to get a big deal' deals work. Do they just pretend United are interested, and convince Juventus to never ask us about it or confirm our interest?

We're not signing him because LVG wants Cleverley to play behind Herrera and Mata. No point in signing an all-rounder to play in a defensive role.
