ITS Over my friends, it was a good fight by us muppets, but reality wins!

Nothing new there

So because a few times agents\managers\ceo's and players have not been forthcoming with the truth in the media, it surely doesn't mean its like that all the time.

we're fecking deluded as united fans thinking that a player who is at the top of his game and in his prime, playing for the a top European club who has an awesome history and who has a chance to retain their championship and play in the CL, would ask to play for us!

in our world, no means yes, maybe means confirmed, and yes means something is wrong.

What's your goal in repeatedly saying it's not happening, over and over?

The only reason I can see for people doing this is the hope that they can later say 'I told you so'.

Plenty of people don't think it's happening, but if you've such a problem with speculation and/or hope then simply stop opening the thread.

Only three things can end this saga:
1. We sign him
2. Vidal himself sits in a Juve presser and says he is categorically not leaving
3. The close of the window

This. This. And This again.

Over and over ? It's the first time I've posted anything regarding my opinion on it in ages.

Got to love how the transfer window affects us lol...

A negative article or quote emerges:
"It's off... let the caf meltdown commence"

A positive article or quote emerges:
"He's not coming, it's all BS, load of shite, never going to happen"

Even when the player is stood there holding a United shirt... it's off :P

You left out the apocalypse.

I think when there is a positive article it's more ''OMFG cocks out lads. ArturON ''

It doesn't matter what Alligeri says. He's obviously just going to back up what Marotta regardless of if anything is actually happening.

At this stage I'm not even convinced we're in for him. I really think LVG is still testing the team and we'll make more signings once he's back from the USA tour.

Why is it over now?

The head honchos at Juve said weeks ago that Vidal was going nowhere, but it was still "ArturON " or whatever. But today, when the head honchos at Juve say that Vidal is going nowhere, it's now totally dead? What has changed?

It's been a carousel of the same quotes. Newspapers throwing fees and wage figures around, and Juve bods saying "no chance, mate". The carousel will keep going around until either Vidal or United come out and pour cold water on the whole thing. Until then, the papers, Twitter and this thread will keep erupting over the tiniest piece of information.

Lol this thread will be funny when he signs for us. I would assume all these quotes are prior to his agent presenting an offer from us.

Isn't that what Barcelona had Fabregas do when we were repeatedly declaring interest in him and the club were repeatedly saying he wasn't for sale?
I'm sure i remember them having Fabregas come out on one of their tour pressers and say he's not moving to Manchester United, and he has no intention of leaving Barcelona at all that summer. The rumours quickly stopped then.

Let's swoop quickly for James McCarthy to move on from the Vidal nonsense that was never happening to begin with. The Juve directors want to be hero's in Turin and probably led Woodward believe there was a chance to get him so that they could refuse us in teh end to make themselves look like Gods in Turin to the Juve fans

Close thread? I told you guys press conference a waste of time.

Allegri has no clue and no say.

There's a point to them?

Don't see the harm in people giving an opinion that we won't sign Vidal. Even if it is repetitive, it's not as though pointing out we might still sign him and the window isn't closed yet constitutes an original thought!

The point for people being 'positive' is the fun of the whole thing. 99% of them aren't serious about it. But what do the people repeatedly posting 'you're all idiots, he's not coming, we never sign top players' get out of it? Is it some kind of defence mechanism? Because it strikes me that they'd be happier just not opening the thread.

And whereas the 'yay, ArturOn ' crowd could very easily just be left to their own devices, you can't expect people to ignore someone coming into the thread and repeatedly calling everyone else idiots. It's unnecessary and disruptive.

This point has been made so many times in threads like these and I've yet to see a reasonable answer to it.

Yes, that's pretty much what happened there if I recall correctly.

Obviously you can't expect that kind of muppet pandering from most teams, but up to now all we've heard from Vidal is a poor Amy Winehouse impression complete with schoolgirl laugh at baggage claim; it's hardly concrete is it?

They just don't get the whole transfer muppet thing...

These transfer threads epitomise the summer silly season. Not enough football to discuss so they get clogged up with endless inane speculation. Don't see the harm in making speculation that is negative as well as positive. For every "it's off" post that annoys you there's at least as many unfounded "it's on" posts.

You've changed. I remember from my days as a lurker you had Kermit as your avatar, what happened? Did you get 'Nos vamos en Manchester' tattooed on your chest and get your fingers burned?

Edited a little extra into my post which is relevant here, sorry:

There's a difference between the two types of poster. There's no reason why the 'it's off' crowd should be bothered by the positive posts. But the negative posts almost always directly imply that anyone who disagrees is deluded or an idiot, which is always going to cause a load of strife. If it's 'off', why bother posting at all?

I like these posters, they're inadvertently increasing the thread's post count which I know is a secondary goal to signing Vidal for a lot of muppets in here. Something about beating the post count of Thiago's thread and even Berbatov's (fingers crossed) is very exciting.

Well a new manager who wasn't initially received well by the fans is obviously going to say Arturo's off isn't he?

Negativity is inexpensive normally and so the cheapskates buy into it. They are the type that buy cheap, own brand lager, take it to a party and drink the Stella and Becks belonging to their happy, cheerful positive mates.

Whatever comments are said now, whatever rumours start anything can happen. Yesterday I am sure he was keeping everyone happy, saying what he needs to. As far as we know his agent flew in this morning with the offer from us. I imagine he will present it after the presser. Perhaps even before who knows. Either way this saga is far from over and if he hasn't signed by deadline day I expect there to be rumours and rubbish going on all the way up until close of the window. Joy

This is probably not helpful. But it's hard to disagree. ;)
