ITS OVER!

Vidals agent has obviously just arrived as they were preparing to start the conference and has slapped a big envelope with Woody's handwriting on the front in Allegris face with a crude 'ArturON-o-meter' crayoned on the back.

Needless to say, were back in the game.
Either that or, Big Woody has just turned up wearing floral shorts, Jesus sandles, white socks, an off pink, unbuttoned blazer revealing a perfectly shaved torso. Gold medallion, blacked out Dolce and Gabanna shades with a case full of pressed and steamed £50 bank notes.

Wait, his press conference starts at 16 but we already have the quotes from him ?

Have muppets finally broken the spacetime ?

OMGZZZZZZZZZZZZZ HE DIDN'T ADMIT TO SELLING THEIR BST PLAYA IT IZ OVA OH NOEEEEEEEEEEEEE ;'(

Every summer.

The best foreign players are just not that fussed about playing for us right now. Not unless they are already acclimatised over here.

Deal with it.

If he's mentioned, it will be to say he's staying; I think most people already expect that.

Where do we go for transfer speculation otherwise though? The Twitter thread is for tweets only, and none of the other transfer threads have caught on like this one has.

Just enjoy it whilst it lasts, as this thread will be closed one way or another before too long and we'll be back in the MU forum slating Young and Fellaini before we know it :(

Mate your not getting me are you? I'm in the ArturON camp and have been since page 50 of this thread! I'm one of the top 10 post count posters in this thread. I'm in full muppet mode but this presser is a presser because Juve play tomorrow not a special one for Vidal so don't expect any news.

Edit: like I said, he won't say anything new that hasn't been said.

Like I said 10 pages in, we are never buying a superstar, we never do and never will. We aren't a big attraction anymore. If we win the UCL we might get to that standard though.

Couldnt disagree more.

Loads of players would jump at the chance to join United because 1) we play in a msssive league with huge exposure around the world 2) we have a world class manager and have a great chance of winning things and 3) we can offer wages comparable to any club on the planet.

If Vidal isnt a target I suspect its because, for whatever reason, the club dont want to follow through with it. Whats clear is he hasnt committed himself to Juventus at all because a move to United would represent, if nothing else, a massive financial step forward for him and his family.

United has no trouble attracting British and premier league based players, but for the non British players, they're just another big club among other big clubs.

TBH, someone earlier mentioned Mourinho going public about Mata being off. It's not impossible for a manager telling someone's off.
Happens very rarely though, and only when a deal is imminent. He's the new manager, he's not going to give his first interview and tell the fans that he's selling one of their best players.

Fair enough, I thought you were one of these posters that feel the need to pop in daily to say it's not happening, as if they know something the rest of us don't.

As you were! :D

What do people expect him to say?

I think people were expecting him to come out and say Vidal is very unhappy and begging for a move. This is exactly what was going to happen, he was never going to say anything else. Imagine the fan backlash if he openly admitted to wanting to sell one of their star players!

We did the exact same thing with Ronaldo, we said he weren't going nowhere, he has a contract with us, he's not for sale etc... even Ronaldo himself was saying i'm happy here and i want to stay (after the CL final). What goes on behind the scenes is usually completely different to what you see at press conferences/in the press etc.

Another thing I was thinking that United can offer is massive commercial potential. There's a lot of money and fame available for players who want to come to the club.

Very unconvincing quotes from Allegri, Juve fans on Twitter are convinced he's leaving now.

Indeed. The response "Yes, we'd like to sell one of our best players to the highest bidder because we're skint and the owners don't want to put anymore money in" is hardly likely to endear him to the fans or the media.

Every player has his price and clubs will rarely admit anyone is for sale because if a big offer comes in that they eventually take they can blame the player for "forcing" the clubs hand by wanting to go.

As it is he may not go anywhere, or he may leave and not end up here, but this sort of comment means nothing. The fact that Conte walked suggests that they cannot guarantee they will keep their best players.

Allegri would look a bigger idiot saying all this and Vidal leaves can't see him moving.

"He will stay" "I'm glad he's staying"

Yep, really unconvincing.

They'll just blame the player (and his agent) if it happens. They'll say they did all they could to stop him leaving and the fans will accept it.

Hardly. Clubs say all sorts of things that shouldn't be taken as gospel. Fabregas and Sanchez are the most recent examples.

Not saying that Vidal isn't staying at Juve.

Spot on. At the end of the day money talks and players know that clubs paying big wages usually have top managers and other top players. They get paid and they've a good chance of winning trophies as well.

The commercial side of things is just as important. The PL is watched all over the world.

See the stone set in your eyes
See the thorn twist in your side
I'll wait for you

Sleight of hand and twist of fate
On a bed of nails he makes me wait
And I wait without you

Vidal, without you
Vidal, without you
