That's because we briefed them on our supposed non interest in Vidal. If our desire was to keep the move silent then it makes sense to brief them since at that stage rumours were abound in foreign media which we can't control. With Herrera, the first real news in foreign media only broke about 2 weeks prior to the transfer being completed so there was no 'build up' of rumours as such. Either way, at that stage so many of the British journos kept saying player x and player y is on LVGs list, with none of the significant journo's/papers calling Herrera.
