His agent better meet him in the morning. None of this after lunch or in the evening bullshit. As soon as we know what his agent is gonna do/say it will be pretty much conclusive what will happen next.

Juve like talking about him, without ever telling us (or anyone else) to feck off and that he's not for sale at any price. I think the only reason that we no longer want him would be concerns over his knee.

So that would be Strootman excluded too. I don't buy into that.

I think that this won't happen. But just because they are denying it doesn't mean that. The reason I don't think it will happen is it looks like a bullshit shit storm that has got out of control, nobody reliable has even mentioned about this.

I think LVG is waiting on Strootman and may go for him in a few weeks. Also, he may go in for a RWB...I can possibly see us fighting it out for Cuadrado. That one makes sense and the rumours won't go away on that one about us being in for him (Then again, there has been nobody really reliable on that)

We could also go all out for Hummels I reckon, that's right now though seems unrealistic.
Journos don't seem to have been consistently linking us with anyone though, so I'm not at all convinced they are ITK anymore.

Also re your RWB point, we have Rafael and Valenica. I know Rafael is constantly injured, but we only have Shaw for LB. We have similar youth backup options for either wing back position, so I would have thought LVG would need a LWB more than RWB, if he opts for either. I think he will look to youth for both positions though.

Yeah good point. Centre back looks bare though, I think we will go for one.

Really? So the manager has said nothing today?

In a nutshell, the agent hasn't arrived yet with his purported bag of cash. All nonsense today and for the foreseeable.

One little negative comment is a like a stock market crash in here.

From what I know about Italy (I've seen the Godfather I and II and watched the Sopranos) all meetings are conducted over lunch. Lets just hope there's no siesta afterwards

What's the betting that if Vidal happens, Mitten will come out and say that he was told to keep quiet about it and play it down? :D

I think things will move fast Damo. Monday was always going to be judgement day. For what its worth, I think we've had a ballpark figure fleshed out for a while. Juve have made too many signings lately, they know they're about to get a large cheque in the post.

So today is the day before VidalDay. VidalDay starts in 3 hours 20mins.

Going to be a bad week for you, eh?

To be fair, Mitten didn't say Vidal deal is off. He said 'seemingly LvG pulled the plug'. And that was not even said in one of his video updates he usually gives.

Seemingly, according to others. He seems clueless to me.

Why can't we do what Real Madrid do? If they want a player they make a bid then force the club and player to come up with a decision and press statement. Every summer we spent months without a clear idea of what is going on with transfers. We must have the least competent negotiators in world football. They basically can't close a deal unless it's an overpriced Englishman or one of Mendes' rubbish youngsters

Who are these reliable people, and what could they say that would prove a move is on? If you're waiting on reliable people to convince you there is something going on then you're waiting for it to be announced either on the official site or on BBC. This is no different from any other transfer deal, in how it's being reported.

You then go on and talk about who we might sign, when you've no more reliable news on them than you do on Vidal.

Yep but he is still going to assess his squad. Obviously we will be in talks but I don't think any deals will be done until after the tour.

Hmm, can't see it personally. I'd imagine he'd like to get some preparation done with his new signings before the official start of the season, even if it's just the one game against Valencia. Surely he'll want to get a new cb before the pre-season finishes at least?

Well he didn't claim to know more other than there were talks with Vidal. And it ties in with the video clip release he made a few days after he said we're in talks where it seemed United briefed journos that we're not interested in Vidal. In that clip he said it seems we've briefed the deal is off but that he's got faith in his source/s.

Personally I think there will be a hive of activity once the tour is over. LVG will have had a look at the players, he's used so many...and no doubt by that time will have a pretty good idea as to who he wants to stay and who or what positions he needs to pay attention to transfer wise.

At the prices quoted for strootman, it makes way more sense to just got for Vidal, who is by far the better player.

If you believe what you read in the papers?

What we do know is Van Gaal likes Strootman and even commented on him recently, and I imagine Strootman would jump at the chance of playing for Utd under Van Gaal. Can really see this one happening, far more likely than Vidal.

We have had so many years of success and combined with the pull of SAF, my guess is we really didn't need much of a negotiating team.
Now there is competition everywhere, there are more big teams and less marquee players available and our negotiation team needed to raise their game to get with the times and sadly they have not...IMO.

We're sometimes like an apathetic guy in a nightclub that doesn't feel like approaching a girl he thinks is cute. Just get up and go talk to her and see what happens, have some belief in yourself. Madrid is the guy that takes chances and isn't worried what any of the girls think of him, he just throws himself out there and sees what happens.

...Nonetheless, I think we've been keeping contact with Vidal's agent through all of this and should definitely expect something tomorrow.

I think we'd have moved a lot quicker on this one if we felt there was interest from another club.

I agree, if Vidal does not materialize, then we are dead on to sign the stroot.
I like strootman, but I still think Vidal is by far the better player.

Ogden, Sky Sports journos havent mentioned it. Usually you get it on Sky like "United in Vidal talks" then "United bid for Vidal." We've apparently done all this so why haven't they reported it? This is why I am not convinced.

I have a gut feeling that this has been planned by us meticulously and will all unfold this week

Seems like that is how it is. Other clubs appear to be able to get deals done.

Because the club is probably leading the reliable journos with bullshit information so we don't create a circus like last summer. From the numerous reports in Italy, it would seem we've been talking through Felicevich instead of Juve.
