Arturo Vidal

If Vidal was available at that cost and we didn't buy him - Woodward is a bullshitter to me again. We can break records, blablabla. One of the best central midfielders might be available and if were going to break some records this is for the right player. Also, €45M for Vidal in todays market is pretty much a bargain.

Seems like there are many teams interested so let's see if he leaves and if he does, if he joins United. Just hope the saga will be over this week and we can focus on another muppet dream

I guarantee this day next week we'll still be none the wiser, I shouldn't have come back in to this thread, I've just gotten over the fact that it looked like we weren't going to sign him, now I'm starting to get my hopes up....again

No it will be over this week, one way or the other. Juventus are due to fly out to East Asia on August 2 and that is also apparently the deadline they have set for any decision on Vidal.

Agreed that his ego is through the roof man, but what players did he get rid off - in the same mould as Mata, at the likes of Inter & Real? I cant think of any in fairness Nev..

You must have heard the rumours about Fergie being involved in the Mata transfer - aswell as a 3rd party helping out too? Glazers wanting a more hands on approach & helping Ed etc as he found his feet..

Then there's also the rumours that Mourinho sold Mata to us, so to help us hurt the other teams competing for the title - as we didnt have to play Chelsea again?

Anyway, we all love a good aul conspiracy theory - yours is a great one i might add :D
He ostracised Casillas at Madrid. Among others. He did something similar at Inter too, though I can't recall off the top of my head who with. It's one of his ways of exerting his authority.

I don't believe Fergie and Gill had anything to do with the Mata signing. I think it was just a way to avoid giving Woodward any credit for it.

The thing is, if Real or Barca wanted him they'd just pay whatever it took to make Juve say yes straight away. They wouldn't be competing with other clubs with a "value for money" offer.

Nobody knows whats going on, maybe we already put a high bid but Juve is reluctant to let Vidal go.

As much as I love Chicha, I have to admit that his time is up since we also have Wilson and Henriquez to think about in the pecking order. If Juve are serious about Chicharito (which is a little odd since they still have Morata, Tévez, Giovinco and Llorente among strikers/forwards), so be it.

A quietly confident that this deal will go through - he is exactly the player we need.

The thought of losing out to City or Liverpool in signing him is unbearable!

Barca have been after Cuadrado and Marquinhos from like the start of the window.

Even Mathieu deal took fair bit of time.

I wonder if Ducker/Taylor/Ogden will say anything today. There's only so long before the club can keep shit quiet.

Don't think that would be enough. We'll probably need to go 50M euros and then we'll dither and someone else will sign him.

Hope this doesn't happen and if we are truly dealing with them I hope it breaks down.

I wanted him to join us but then we bought Herrera. Not compatible.

Holding my breath for a different reason than most on here...

What? Of course they are compatible.

Some of these Juve fans now want Reus, Hummels and Di Maria if they sell Vidal.

Seen one lad say he wants 70m euro or 60m euro + Kagawa. Like I'm no Kagawa fan boy but rating Kagawa at 10m euro

Forget about woodward. I don't think it will matter how much we big. If Vidal wants to come, he'll come. If he doesn't want to come a bid of 70 million will do no good.

How much does Vidal love Juventus? Hasn't he got a Juve tattoo?

Woodward, you Kenyon-like money-pinching son of a bitch if that's anywhere near true!

Imagine the meltdown on here if Woodward repeats Kenyon's antics during the Ronaldinho transfer saga and Vidal ends up in City or Liverpool.

He just signed an improved contract last year. Juventus don't have the means to match what we could offer for wages so if I hope that we place a high bid and get it done.

So professional from Juventus. They don't want to sell us a player without making sure he is in sound condition. It is like when you make sure the product you sell to your customers are of high quality and defect free. Great businessmen.

The guy is back from holiday's now isn’t he. Hopefully if we are after him we can wrap it up quickly. I’d guess the clubs would have a decent idea of where they stand fee wise at least, so it would now be up to the player if he wants to come or not.

Thats true about Casillas alright (he dropped him) & he fell out with Ramos aswell (dropped him aswell) & a few others too?!

They were the main (ol skool) men there & Mourinho put his foot down from what i gathered at the time. I think he was right about Casillas though - he's been poor for a while & Lopez was played instead of him in the league in Mourinho's last season & the same under Ancelotti last season too, so maybe that was the cause of the problem - Casillas ego more than Mourinho's.

I aint no fan of Mourinho either - even the sheer hassle it is to type the bastards name correctly does my head in..

End of the day, United need to tap into all the influences they have at the club to get transfers done & i couldnt give a shite how it gets done.

But we're not payin Real €80m for Di Maria either - they can go & shite. We could possibly buy Reus & Hummels for that amount ffs - maybe closer to €100m, but it sure as hell would be a great spend.

Reus is vastly underrated by many because he doesnt play for one of the big 4 clubs in the world, but i'd have him in a heart-beat over Di Maria any day of the week.

Di Maria seems to want a transfer & the massive pay day that comes with it. Reus missed out on a WC medal due to injury & was my pick for player of the tournament. I think its a no-brainer who's gonna be the hungrier for success at their next club!

No more than £35million? No chance then. Doubt they would even consider selling him for less than £45million.

Pointless pursuit if we're not going to pay the going rate. Madrid just spent ~£60million on a player they didn't even need and we're going to be tight on a player we should be completely desperate for? I give up if this is true.

Could be he got some contract improvement tips from Rooney.

1. Claim your club isn't ambitious enough and implicitly question the quality of your teammates and the aptitude of your manager
2. Perform a u-turn after signing a mega contract which makes you the club's best paid player
3. When the club shows ambition and buys a top notch player as competition for you, throw a strop and claim you have earned the right to play in your position
4. Sign another mega contract and everything is rosy again

Vidal is nowhere near Wazza's genius at contract negotiations
