To be honest though he will have more money on the table from other clubs and CL football and no doubt a better climate and city to consider.....we will then hear LVG decided against him before he signs elsewhere. Im a United fan but it would be an odd choice for him to come here with the clubs who would come into the frame. Hopeful but disbelieving is my state of mind I guess.

There's probably only a tiny handful of players who earn more than what our top earner is on. Haven't really seen many other clubs linked with him anyway. Liverpool have been quite ridiculously linked, but that's all Ive seen

But thats what happens. Like Thiago last year. Once a decision is made to sell other clubs like barca, Real and bayern will undoubtedly be interested.

I have no doubts whatsoever that Juve would sell and he would happly come.

My only doubt is whether we will be ámbitos enough to make a credible attempt to sign a player of this calibre. We have never done this sort of deal since Veron. History tends to repeat itself.

Fortunately for us, the likes of Real and Barca have so consistently took almost all of the top talent since 2008, that they are simply overflowing with world class players.

Simply because they are just so utterly well stocked, we should be able to get a couple.of top players this summer without much competition. Not saying we will though...

Steve Bates is very reliable.

Manchester United hope to wrap up the signing of Arturo Vidal this week after resurrecting their move for the Chilean, reports Tom Hopkinson and Steve Bates of the Sunday People.

The 27-year-old Juventus midfielder told Italian reporters on Friday he would not be moving to Old Trafford.

But Sunday People Sport understands a sensational £35million move is now back on and could even be completed in the coming days.

Vidal has been on Louis van Gaal’s hitlist since he took over but the deal appeared to have broken down.

However, Van Gaal now hopes to make him his third signing after snapping up Ander Herrera and Luke Shaw.

Meanwhile, Nani and Wilfried Zaha are facing an uncertain future.

The pair have been given major dressing-downs by Van Gaal during United’s pre-season tour to the United States and have been left in no doubt they will be on their way unless they buck up their ideas.

Nani, 27, was used sparingly under David Moyes last season while Zaha, 21, spent time on loan at Cardiff.

Both have been given a clean slate under LVG, but he is already unimpressed with their attitude.

Bates has been breaking team news and the Cleverley captaincy early too, so he's got good sources out there.

Might be something in this.

Isn't that a shitty source? I have no idea but I have never heard of the Sunday Ppl Sports which isnt a good thing I guess.

The reporter Steve bates is fairly reliable. Check out his twitter feed: https://twitter.com/sbates_people

Been revealing the team news and stuff hours ago. Obviously transfer news is different but he's a good source.

Steve Bates is the most trustworthy journalist in the business - in fact he's the only journalist who I bother to read articles from because he's that much better than everyone else.

Arguably the best journalist ever.

I don't doubt he has his sources but they are referring to the Sunday Ppl and that's why I'm suspicious.
Don't get me wrong, normally news like that would make my inner muppet go wild but I just couldnt take another setback with him.

Everybody knows this, I don't know why you even bothered post it.

Welp. Please no false hope this time. Can't take it no more.. :(

Arturo's just trolling us for his own personal amusement. He's cracked a few beers somewhere in Turin and is sat watching the action unfold before his very eyes.

Sorry but I ain't falling for this again.

I had the same worry, but it's seemingly the Sunday version of the mirror and Bates wrote the article.

I love how we get some bad news, it's soaked up and then forgotten about and it's back to business. Brings a tear to my eye, I'm so proud of you all.
