I don't believe a word of this. Why would Ed spend weeks negotiating a deal for him, then ask LvG if he fancies him? Surely it should be the other way round, otherwise it's just counter-productive.

"I've been hard at work trying to sign Kenny Miller...just needs your approval. What's that? No? For feck sake, sorry Kenny."

No wonder we take so fecking long to get one wrapped up if he's playing trial and error.

It's an excuse. We missed out on another massive name so the club sells the 'LVG doesn't want him' to the media. The same thing happened last summer.

Why not just deny we were in for him? It's what we've done all along, if what you're saying is true and this is a leak then it just makes us look even more daft.

What? We've clearly not been. The club have maintained for weeks there has been no interest. Mitten got this one wrong.

Especially strange when there's quotes from LVG saying he did want to sign him in the past too. He obviously rates him and I highly doubt he's been blown away by what he's seen from our centre mids in training.

Tbf the club always said that we were never in for him.

Every journo on the tour has been saying for 2 weeks that Utd have been telling them there has been no interest yet people on here wanted to believe all the Italian and Chilean press nonsense.

It was never on. We would love it to be cause he's quality but sadly we are not in for him. God knows why.

They also said we're always interested in the best players, like the "bid" for Bale last Summer. We like to give off the impression we're in the discussion when it comes to these big moves but in reality we've never been a major player on the European transfer scene.
 
This is annoying not because we're not signing him but it appears in the midst of all the bullshit speculation that people fell for about him, we don't appear to have any other options.

Feel sorry for Herrera because noone seems to care about or how good he'll be and he'll seemingly have to carry the midfield on his own.
 
Are people pooh poohing this over the tmz like harassment he got at an airport where he smirked and said "no no no" about joining us? I don't think that "interview" really holds much if any credibility other than Vidal was being professional and not commenting while being harassed.

We can never know that for sure. The club is never going to tell every Tom, Dick and Harry its targets.

Believe what you want too but the club has been clear from day one to the hacks that cover the club - not interested. People have chosen to believe what they want too.
 
Some of you are pathetic. Van Gaal wanted Herrera, not Kroos, as his midfield playmaker and we have no idea who he wants to partner Herrera with long term. I would love us to sign Vidal as much as anyone else, but these comments about us missing out on Kroos and now Vidal need to go. Pathetic stuff and another case of people being blinded by big names during the transfer window. We got Herrera, stop crying.
 
I said a few days ago, but something still tells me that Pogba is the one we will go for.
 
I know people are saying we need to address teh midfield...but our defence worries me a great deal. We've lost Ferdy, Vidic and Evra, those are three hugely experienced players to go all at once regardless of their diminishing might!
 
Why won't the club just come out and say we're not interested and cut these agents that are apparently using us and the gutter journalists off straight away?

Juventus want to sell and create auction. Just the other top clubs in Europe have signed midfielders.

I see where you are coming from, although I dont' think 7th was a true reflection of the real ability and talents of the players we have, more to do with leadership and with LVG I definately think we have that back, so regardless of buying anyone else I would be very optimistic of a top 4.

If you listen to the club, we aren't interested in anyone until they're holding a United shirt. Not many clubs are vocal about their interest until a deal is done. If I could be arsed, I could show you countless examples of clubs denying interest in players, that they go on to sign only a few weeks later.
