Arturo Vidal

The fact that the BBC aren't running with the story already confirms to me that there is nothing to take from the quotes that what we've been hearing since day one; It's still either stays or leaves but I do believe we are in for him and would even go as far to say that a deal is already in place with Juve. It's more of now dealing with Vidal/his agent once he officially returns to Juve from his holi-bobs.

What if, after all this speculation, he ends up joining his mate Sanchez at Arsenal.

:nervous:

I'm educated in reading between the lines also, and you are clearly gay and using this site for cruising. I'm flattered, but no thanks.
Your powers in this area are obviously fairly weak or you'd be aware I'm highly skilled in mind changing. Give me 20 mins big boy.

I say that and they've just gone and put it up on their BBCSportsDay Live feed!

They've put the fake quotes up, like all the other idiots in the British media. Same quotes that the Italian press rescinded.

Think all the big clubs will be in for him to be fair, we'll be hard pushed to get him. Literally as I see it he is one of the best CM's around. So therefore its not just gonna be us and potentially Liverpool interested.

Worth remembering that for the next few days unless something significant happens, the press will be using that ridiculous "interview" and fake quotes derived from it to produce stories that this is totally dead in the water.

Stay strong people, we know better.

Gosh, imagine trying to compete with Liverpool for a signature. How will we cope?

Aye. If Vidal becomes available it will certainly attract the interest of a few big names. That all being said we have no idea what might have gone on behind the scenes with agents etc.

With the all the talk of us being capable of paying big amounts of money for players. Why don't we just bid 50-60 mill for Vidal. Juve are clearly willing to sell for a big amount.

It's really one of those days when I wished BSkyB got the United ownership back in 1999. We would have had our own propaganda machine that reaches all 4 corners of the world with more than enough punch to unsettle anybody whenever we want without any remorse, even fuk the likes of Madrid at their own game if any.

I thought he gave quotes this morning in a airport saying no to manchester? Or have these been made up?

Vidal arrived back in Italy and when asked by reporters whether he would stay at Juventus said: 'I do not go to Manchester. Can I say I will remain with Juve? I don’t know.

'I’ll talk to Allegri on Monday and then we will see. I haven’t spoken with Allegri or any of my team-mates yet, but I’m not going to Manchester.'

Italian newspaper Gazzetta Dello Sport also report that Juventus do not want to sell the midfielder - who has three years left on his contract - but could be tempted by an offer of around €45million (£36m).

36M surely not, I'm sure we would have offered that by now if it was the case.

My interpretation of events like most is that Juve don't want to sell but will for a huge fee otherwise Vidal would most likely have to ask to leave and this will then give us the initiative to haggle.

If he stays so be it, I'm reading that Juve want it resolved by August 2nd as they fly to Asia on tour. So in 8 days we should have a much clearer picture.

Yeah Im unsure of why a bid hasnt gone in, maybe we are doing it all in the background, thats the hope. It was good when few years back all bids etc were announced and everyone knew where they were (obviously it did go on behind closed doors but less so) Now its all behind closed doors agents and clubs talking and sorting deals before any bids go in.

Guess otherwise you get into that position where you keep bidding up and then have to pull out and therefore look a bit weak to fans maybe.

Look at Suarez no bids submitted then all sorted in one hit, must have been all done behind closed doors and numbers sorted.

Every online news source is leading with "Vidal says NO to manchester"... if you watch the video you can see he was just trying to get rid of the journalist and every outlet ran with the mis-quote.

Makes you wonder about the legitimacy of the reports we read every day that sound so convincing when the truth is so obvious to see.
And these are the type of people that are saying they have inside information  It's like they literally have not watched the video. They have just seen other reports and have copied and pasted, It's quite ridiculous really.

What a waste of money.

The situation looks like the player wants to come to us and there are no other competitors for his signature with the only other ones who can afford it stacked in midfield or not playing in a desirable league.

With that in mind, we're having a free run at playing it cool, letting his agent work on Juve and it could result in us getting him for less than £40m which in this climate will be an absolute steal.

Just because it's dragging on a bit, you'd rather we dropped another £20m on it and wrapped it up. I hope you are never involved in any sort of negotiations!

The state of journalism these days.. He says no no nervously while getting away from a boring journalist and everybody is on about him saying NO to United. Ridiculous.

This is such a lazy arrogant way of doing transfers if true. We should just wrap up the transfers and not worry about paying an extra 10 mill if needed. It's similar when we tried to sign Ronaldinho and tried to pay the least amount possible, it just pissed of PSG who then jst sold him to Barca.

This.

Up to this day, I still want to beat the shit out of Peter Kenyon for screwing everything up like a cnut in that transfer saga.

...Leading us to instead buy Ronaldo, which didn't turn out badly at all!

Woodward knows what he is doing, and he's not working to the Cafs timescale. We will have to wait and see.

Any normal business would not just throw money at purchases. Thats FM speak there pal

Ronaldinho I believe was different in that we had a bid accepted but then lowered it when it came to the crunch

I really hope that Ed "money is no object" Woodward is not trying to get Vidal on the cheap.
But I think this summer Ed is a changed man and is putting transfers first and foremost and will not mind spending big.

Something similar happened when we chucked 7m extra on top of the Bebe fee. We were way too eager!

Yeh thats very true. In every purchase in life we always look to pay the least. But you just see the way Barca and Madrid identify targets and then just pay what is needed and we're just as big as those clubs and I think it's even more desperate for us as we want/need another top class CM.

But even if we don't sign him, I still have faith and confidence in the LVG and the united team.
