Hoping for Pogba is like hoping for Gerrard, Terry, Kompany, ..
Pogba will have no incentive to choose us over Real Madrid, Barcelona, Chelsea, City, Arsenal, PSG, Bayern og even Dortmund. And then there's the obvious fact he's openly gone out and in several interviews berated us for his bad handling.
His beef has always been with SAF, not the club. But saying that though, no chance of Pogba coming back.

Why is it when reliable journalists like Ducker and Odgen say we have yet to contact Juve over Vidal it's written off as rubbish because Woodward isn't leaking news to the media but when Mitten says we are interested it's deal on?

Given that the reports of us being in for him are mostly coming from Chile, where he's from and where he and his agent have influence, and Italy, where Juve are based and have influence, I'd suggest that the reality of what's happening is most likely exactly what the club are briefing.
If we were watching this unfold at any other team we'd say that the obvious answer is the most likely: Juve and the player are linking him with us to generate interest as we're a massive club with lots of money and an open desire to improve the club (and more particularly the midfield) this summer.

I'm guessing that they've decided to focus on Strootman instead of Vidal.
It will be terrible if we genuinely haven't had any significant conversation around Vidal as that will prove again that twitter muppets and tabloid journalism are enough to generate huge interest and a story.

I'm astounded by the claim that there's been no contact whatsoever. We're clearly lacking in the midfield department, Carrick is even out for 12 weeks, but no - let's not even try to work something out for one of the best fecking midfielders around. Maybe Juve are asking for crazy money behind closed doors, who knows. Maybe Vidal and his agent is using our name to drum up interest in himself without actually having any plans on joining us because of lack of CL football - and perhaps we've caught on to that. This whole thing is just strange. Reports coming out every day from Italy and Chile, but supposedly there hasn't been ANY contact... Perhaps Woody and the moneymen doesn't think Vidal meets the profile of players they'll spend shitloads of money on, him being over 25 and all.

What I dont get is why hasnt United themselves came out and said we are not interested. Theres enough media and fan speculation to this saga to warrant a response from the club to clear things up. Ogden hasnt said we arent interested in Vidal hes only stated that theres been no contact, we could be waiting for Vidal to get off his holiday before launching a bid and tying things up pretty quickly a couple of days later.
Ill track Woodward down and skin him alive if this happens, If Vidal goes to Liverpool who will be Champions League for 1 season and we dont make an effort to sign him even though LVG likes him and he would suit the system I will lose faith in Woodward, unless we get Pogba.

Thank you! I asked this same thing in the tweeter thread. If we truly haven't made any contact about Vidal, why are we entertaining the idea at all. Season tickets have already sold in record time, theres no good excuse to letting this rumour go on and on, considering the out rage of when it doesn't happen. Woodward says they monitor social media, id imagine they have charts etc of things the tag #MUFC gets mentioned with, Vidal would be pretty high up on those.
This was a purely muppet & tabloids made transfer saga.
I just find this baffling, normally i wouldn't trust foreign media as we have seen in the past that 99% of transfers our name gets linked to drum up interest, however Mitten mentioned that there is is definitely something going so either he is misinformed (unlikely) or we are our keeping our targets secret.

Ogden, along with a few others, have been briefed to mention that we're not in for Vidal but other targets are on our radar. It would be too obvious if they just said we aren't in for anyone so they've been told to brief that we aren't in for Vidal (marquee signing) but in for Hummels, Vermarlen etc.

This is all most likely true. Which is a little depressing.
It also makes Woody's chest thumping about United being awash with cash and ready to sign the world's best players ring more than a little hollow. Don't understand why he felt the need to say any of that and am increasingly certain he will have raised expectations in vain. Again.
Still early days though. Plenty of time left for him to walk the walk. Probably won't involve Vidal though. Oh well
