What knowledge is that? We've been living off scraps all month. Nothing credible from the British press, just rumours from Chile and Italy.

I guess it's a bit like love. You can't explain it, you just know. Deep down, it just feels right.

It's turned into the catch phrase of this thread so I'll say it again....

The stars are aligning. :)

Over the last week we've reportedly offered him £160k, £180k and £200k per week.

I really wish this would move onto the next stage. Getting stale now :(

Typical United summer signing though eh

That's what I was hoping we could avoid.

I was hoping for more of a Herrera style signing, which suddenly moves quickly out of the blue, except with a more lengthy and confusing build up of course.

And he still scored, that's great, who'd have thought Maldives vs Afghanistan would be so entertaining .......

.....now I'm hooked on crazy penalty clips!

there was one that was on a dvd a few years ago. The guy runs up but trips himself up and falls on the ball. Some show that showed funniest moments in soccer. It showed rosenthals miss for liverpool which is hilarious

Is anyone else worried that all the stories that we're signing him are coming from Chile and Italy, yet last week they were saying we have had a bid accepted for him and now they're saying we've just bid €50m. So clearly they don't know.

Not in the slightest, nobody really knows what is happening, all we (I) know is that it has either already happened or is inevitable.

I know! People just seem to ignore the fact the same outlets who were at the forefront the the mental days when a deal was agreed are the same ones saying only a bid has been made...just no realisation what so ever.

People moan about journos but it is gullable and idiotic fans who make it silly season.

I can't recall any of the Chilean media claim that a bid was agreed. In Italy, La Stampa and Tuttosport who are Turin based haven't claimed that either.

 I think these posts just sum up this thread, both replied to the same post yet both are opposite

To think, it was me that got Offside back on the Caf yesterday, and this is how he repays me! With negativity in this thread!

In all seriousness though, done deal.

I do not recall any claims of that nature to be honest from Chile or Italy. Where did any of those papers say we had a bid accepted?

I can't remember with paper it was but one of them had the whole "done dealio" headline. I'm sure there was other too but I'm not going looking back over 261 pages of mainly rubbish talk lol

With Conte going to PSG, could this put a dent into our chance of signing him?

PSG would be a lateral move for him, surely? Possibly even a backwards one, since Juventus is at least one of the traditional big European clubs.

 'Done dealio' was a photoshopped joke, mate.

I love your optimism. Going full-force with your muppetry, not holding back.

I don't really see it as optimism, just realism I guess. If you take all the evidence that has been placed in front of us and forensically put it together it leaves you with about a 100% chance of signing him, give or take 3%.

"Done Dealio" was a twitter invention

 done dealio was a satirical mockup of a guaranteed future scenario. It's a popular thing to do in Italy. When William and Kate were expecting, Gazetto ran an article "Prince Georgio, lui bornio!"

Incredible seeing as at this point nobody in the world knew it was going to be a boy let alone called George.

They just have an incredible knack with these things.

I don't keep up on which journalists are supposedly reliable but if he's right I get the horrible feeling fecking Rooney will be playing alongside Herrera in midfield with a DM behind them.

I'm under the impression that if we REALLY were in a fight for Vidal's signature, we'd have done it by now. Same with Di Maria and Hummels. If they were REALLY those major signings we'd been waiting for since we signed Lovin' van Persie, we'd have done them already, so they'd be on the pre-season tour. We all saw how Berbatov flopped for not having gelled with the team in the pre-season. He was odd-man out his entire career.

I know some of the players are on holidays, however, contracts and transfers can be made whilst enjoying a drink poolside.
