We were linked to him aswel at the time but I guess he wasn't prem proven. It's not fair that they got Pogba for virtually nothing and him for 10 million euro, it's just not fair!

That's criminal when you look how good his turning out. That would have been the same summer Ozil, Khedira, Sahin, Gundogan all moved clubs at ridiculously low prices and we didn't go for any of them.€10.5 million fee was paid by Juventus to acquire the services of Vidal in the 2010/11 season on a 5 year contract from Bayer Leverkusen.

Ozil chose to go to Madrid, Gundogan was definitely linked to us before he made the move to Dortmund. That's criminal when you look how good his turning out. Fair point about Ozil. Our scouting was non existent in the Bundesliga at that time, surely SAF would have jumped at the chance to sign Vidal had we been scouting him.Ozil chose to go to Madrid, Gundogan was definitely linked to us before he made the move to Dortmund.
I'm sure we must've scouted him but I feel maybe our transfer strategy at that time was to look for prem proven players, Ashley Young, Valencia and Owen were bought around the same time.Fair point about Ozil. It's likely we won't sign a proven wide player this summer and you want to get rid of Nani.Give 'em £50 million plus Nani.
I may be wrong but I'm sure SAF even confirmed he wasn't scouting the Bundesliga at that time. But after transfer window seeing players move on the cheap we started looking hence why we signed Kagawa, showed interest in Lewandowski ect....I think so as well but it was depressing I remember the 09/10, 10/11 transfer windows being incredibly underwhelming.I'm sure we must've scouted him but I feel maybe our transfer strategy at that time was to look for prem proven players, Ashley Young, Valencia and Owen were bought around the same time.
Nani hasn't done a whole lot in a very long time. The guy is nearly 28, I wouldn't be too disappointed if he left. It's likely we won't sign a proven wide player this summer and you want to get rid of Nani.
But still is our only wide player who has shown he can be quality. Unlike Young and Valencia who have both received consistent football for 2 seasons and have been utter dross, at least Nani has the excuse for being injured the majority of the time. I'd rather keep Nani and sell of Young which would be the wiser decision.Nani hasn't done a whole lot in a very long time. The guy is nearly 28, I wouldn't be too disappointed if he left.

Whilst players like Vidal and Gundogan went for a pittanceAnd no one could replace Paul scholes and Darren fletcher

It's worth it for one of, if not the, best central midfielder in the world. It's likely we won't sign a proven wide player this summer and you want to get rid of Nani.
I agree. He is a very rare type of player....one who can play comfortably in a two man midfield against top European sides, I.e. An "all round midfielder"This is the guy we should pushing everything for. Forget our other signings, he's the #1 priority for me.
Well either way Vidal isn't happening. I still rate Modric higher. It's worth it for one of, if not the, best central midfielder in the world.
Add in Pirlo, Tevez & Llorente. Those buggers have probably made the best transfer dealings in Europe this past 5 years. It's not fair that they got Pogba for virtually nothing and him for 10 million euro, it's just not fair!

I might be mistaken but aren't the majority of Vidal's goals penalty's? Modric IMO is one of the classiest midfielders I've seen since Scholes and Xavi were in their prime.Disagree, Vidal has goals in his game and can dominate a game with ease. Modric is certainly up there, but his lack of goals puts him lower down the pecking order for me. It's always been a problem with his game.
Good one! They want Nani so bad. £15m plus Vidal for Nani please
Nani is not not a 30 Million + player though. 30 + Nani would be more realistic.
You need to read his post again. 15m + Vidal for Nani, not the other way around.
I only watched Juventus in the Champions League since their league games aren't shown in Australia, I never realized he scored double digits in the league though.CL: 5 goals, 4 pens
Europa League: 2 goals, 0 pens
Serie A: 11 goals, 2 pens
So 18 goals this season 6 of them pens.
And there was me hoping for a one man midfield.I don't want to get my hopes up but if you get Vidal an 'all round midfielder' and a dictator in there we are set to play a two or 3 man midfield.

Goal scoring midfielder? What's that?midfielder that scores goals
